Stayed Dec 22, 2020This property is perfect for a relaxing vacation. It’s spacious, clean, and absolutely gorgeous. The owner communicated the entire time (Even on Christmas Eve, mind you) and was very friendly. We’ll definitely be back!

Stayed Nov 26, 2025We spent Thanksgiving at this home and enjoyed the beach, kayaks, and decks. The kitchen was missing some things that would have made cooking easier — like measuring cups, a vegetable peeler, and a 9x13 baking dish — but we improvised. We’ve stayed here before and would stay again!

Stayed Jul 13, 2025Amazing vacation! House on Hood Canal was perfect. Gorgeous views of harbor porpoises, otters, sea lions, and eagles. House is older and we couldnt get the tvs to work in the upstairs and main level bedroom but we werent there for tv so it wasnt a big deal. Host was veru responsive to questions through VRBO and text and trip was very smooth!

Stayed May 16, 2025Stayed here for 3 nights and had a blast. Wildlife and canal access were as promised and did not disappoint. Spent the weekend clamming and harvesting oysters all of which were very close to the house.

Stayed Mar 30, 2025Our family had a great time staying at this house. It has a large common area that we used to play games, put together a puzzle, and watch movies. The basement had amazing entertainment options for our kids, including an air hockey table, a ping pong table, an arcade console with multiple games (Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Galaga, etc.), and a mini basketball game. The house has a couple of decks that were fun for watching wildlife or looking at the view. We enjoy birding and saw eagles, herons, loons, mergansers, and a pair of harlequin ducks! There is a path that leads to the beach which had clams spitting water at low tide, and some cool tide pools. We also saw seals and harbor porpoises. When cars and trucks aren’t going by, it is really quiet (32 decibels) and still. Hearing the birds sing when there were no cars was incredible and relaxing. The location is great, just up the road from Hama Hama, and Hoodsport isn’t too far away. We also visited Hunter Farms for some Olympic Mountain ice cream. The mattress in the first bedroom was on the softer side, so if you want a firmer mattress, the two couches in the living room easily fold out and have better support. The bunk bed upstairs doesn’t have much room between the bottom and upper bunk, so older kids may not want to sleep on the bottom bunk. The kitchen has some utensils, pots, and pans, but we recommend bringing your own.The hosts were great! They were friendly and responded quickly.

Stayed Oct 26, 2024Beautiful, serene, location and property! Host does a wonderful job communicating and offered us options for dining/groceries/activities. Check-in and check-out were super easy, which we appreciate, and there are plenty of options for things to do or just relax and enjoy the beautiful view! Property is very clean, stocked with basics, close to road but super quiet and all you hear is the waves lapping on the shore.

Stayed Sep 8, 2024The owner or property manager reached out to us to make certain everything was well set up. The directions and instructions were very clear. Two small hitches showed up. The sliding glass door latch would not hold. I fixed it easily by breaking a stick from the yard and positioning it on the sliding mechanism. The other was that the exhaust fans in the ceilings of the washrooms are badly in need of cleaning. I'm sure they will take care of that immediately upon reading this. We did not contact them regarding it because it was not an emergency. Also the lighting in the laundry room is inadequate and the switch hard to locate. I recommend the property for families who want to visit the peninsula.

Stayed Aug 30, 2024LOVED the provided kayaks and access to water...we brought paddle boards and had a great time with seals, porpoises, herons! Upper deck fantastic for eating outside, enjoying morning and evening skies. Beds/baths worked for 3 couples, enjoyed ping pong table/game room and family games around dining table. Kitchen was perfect for dinner in. Recommend!

Stayed Jun 13, 2024This was a great place to enjoy the Hood Canal region. About 52 minutes from the Staircase Olympic National Park entrance which is a great hike. Port Angeles is about 1 hour 20 minutes away the opposite way on 101. If you want to spend the day in Seattle, you can take a ferry from Bainbridge about 1 hour and 15 minutes away. You can park there and take the 35 minute ferry to Seattle. But Bainbridge is absolutely a lovely town (it's an island). Overall, it was great. If you're a neat freak and want a more modern home, this might not be your place. The bathrooms are small and dated and a little user unfriendly (not a lot of space to put your stuff, hooks to hang towels, etc.) and the toilets are sensitive. The 2 level decks are wonderful for relaxing and taking in the natural beauty of the surroundings and the main living area is just stunning and offers plenty of room to cook and serve meals. The kitchen was pretty well stocked with the exception of coffee mugs and forks. They can use more of those. We didn't use the kayaks (we didn't see those) but the weather was a little cooler than expected. We enjoyed the fire pit and saw eagles and wetland birds and sea lions. Overall, a nice place to stay. One more thing, if you are sensitive to fragrances, you may want to ask the owner to remove the plug in fragrance. When we arrived, the fragrance was overwhelming and made us cautious. We located it and unplugged it for the duration of our stay but it did linger.

Stayed May 24, 2024We planned a family vacation and this property was perfect. There was plenty of room for our kids to have their own room & then some. Basketball hoops, ping pong table, air hockey, & board games were among the entertainment this beautiful property has to offer. The views provided so much relaxation and watching the eagles fly by directly in front decks was spectacular. The owners were extremely hospitable.
