If you love this listing, but you are looking for something you don’t see here, please inquire as we operate over 100 units across NOLA!

Guest Access:

The home door locks with door codes. Codes and other check-in details will be provided via message and texted to your phone on the day of check-in.

The Neighborhood:

The Treme is a distinctly local and historic neighborhood with blocks of interesting Creole architecture. Rich in cultural history, many New Orleans greats have called the Treme home: Jelly Roll Morton, Sidney Bechet, civil rights activists, Mardi Gras Indians, Brass Bands, and Second Line parade leaders. Our neighborhood has plenty to see and do in its own right -- we suggest all newcomers to the area check out Willie Mae's Scotch House located a few blocks away. (Best fried chicken in all of New Orleans!)

Getting Around:

The best way to get around is by foot, bike, taxi, or Uber. For cycling enthusiasts, New Orleans is an eminently bikeable city, and there are several rental and tour companies nearby. The Quarter is a 3-5 minute Uber away, and other hotspots such as the Bywater and Magazine Street are also within striking distance.

Overall the VRBO itself was very nice and clean. However, the location was not the best.

The one other review on this listing currently describes this house as ‘janky’ and that’s pretty much how I’d describe it too. My team and I rented this house for our yearly retreat and one of the reasons that we picked this place was that there are no stairs pictured (one of us has trouble with stairs)--but this is a three story house, and only one bedroom is on the first floor. There are a bunch of minor things wrong in the place, that would get fixed immediately by anyone who lived there (missing toilet paper holders, stuff like that) but because it's a short-term rental property, the detail stuff is overlooked. There are also what appear to be more structural issues (cracks in the ceilings and wall). The listing describes the neighborhood as a ‘transitional area’. The Treme is historically a Black neighborhood, and if you’re uncomfortable with that, you shouldn’t stay here. I don’t think the location is a reason not to rent this place, and actually there’s a really good lunch spot 100 feet from the house with the most amazing lemonade. The outdoor space in general and the pool are really nice, the kitchen is well stocked with supplies, and the location is pretty central in the city. However, because of the very numerous issues with the house (I wish I could upload pictures because some of them were big issues), it left us feeling cold. The price is on the high side for what you get.

The house is generally nice, and there were plenty of towels. With three stories, the house felt like there was so much space. But, several faucets were loose, a toilet had an incorrect cover… it is a little janky inside. The neighborhood is what locals call “the Projects” although from the outside the houses look very nice. The location is easy to get into/out of the Quarter or the CBD. There were no issues with security but there were definitely gunshots on New Years Eve. For what the price is of the rental property, I would probably keep looking unless you have a very large party to fill all of the beds.
