For folks used to driving in the flat lands, this area will boost your driving credentials. Our cabin is at the top of a graveled and rather steep driveway. Four wheel drive is strongly recommended in the winter months and for those in two wheel drive you'll need to get a good running start to make it up to the cabin during the warmer months.
Watauga Lake is an ever changing postcard with majestic views through smooth, winding roads. Autumn offers some of the best foliage and frequent warm days for hiking and boating. Winter, pictured here needs no words, but is the perfect area for sledding/skiing or just cuddling by the fireplace.
We are an 8 minutes drive to the Watuaga Lake Winery (open year round). The cabin has a direct view of Nova Villa Vineyard, just a couple minutes away.
Centrally located between Mountain City, Johnson City, TN and Boone, NC.
An hour's drive to SkiBeech, Sugar Mountain, Appalachian Ski, or Bristol Motor Speedway.
Five minutes to the Watauga Lake Mercantile for grocery essentials or incidentals (open daily till 3pm). Stop for groceries in Boone or Mountain City on the way in, which are both about half hour away.
We welcome trained pets treated with flee prevention for a $100 fee.
Very relaxing
Perfect place for a much needed rest for one week. Very neat and clean property. Very quiet too. Perfect launch place to visiting Tri Cities and Appalachian Trail. We'll come back again!
As advertised. Highly recommended.
This lovely home provided our family with a wonderful place to stay. The view is spectacular! Everything you need is there. It is spotlessly clean, the bed are comfortable, and it is beautiful. Sun in the morning on the front porch, sun in the afternoon on the back porch.
From the communication with The owner Maxanne, to the minute we got ti the Cabin, then the Delicious Brownies by the Housekeeper Lena, everything was beyond Perfect, the View, the peace, the Privacy and the locatiion was Perfect for us, Love it 100%
We really enjoyed our stay! The pictures don’t do justice. It’s a beautiful cabin and was very clean! The beds are very comfortable. We had everything we needed in the kitchen to make our Thanksgiving meal. The fireplace was wonderful, we took a lot of walks on the beautiful property, watched the World Cup, and played games. We were so relaxed and comfortable we didn’t leave the cabin until it was time to checkout! The homemade pie from Lena, the housekeeper was very nice! Thank you for the wonderful stay!
From the minute we drove up the driveway my husband had a smile on his face during our stay here. The house, the views, wildlife, the privacy and our communication with Maxanne- this place was just what we needed for some R and R!! I felt like I was staying at a friend’s home - that’s how at home we were made to feel. Directions and helpful hints to all things in the area were available. We were even greeted with brownies and a lovely welcoming note! Thank You Maxanne for an awesome stay!!!
We definitely enjoyed the time we spent at this adorable cabin in the mountains. The view from the front porch was breathtaking. Enjoyed the peace and quiet with a view while drinking my morning coffee. Being from flat Florida, the twisty winding back roads to get there are a little nerve wracking at night, but it was worth the drive. The house sits on top of a hill with a pretty steep, long graveled driveway. I have an suv with two wheel drive and didn’t make it up the driveway on our first try. If you don’t have four wheel drive, you just need to get a good running start to make it up to the house. They also have additional parking at the bottom of the driveway which is nice. Upon arrival, they left us a pan of delicious freshly baked brownies. We unfortunately had to cut our stay short due to a family emergency, but we would definitely stay here again.
We had a realy great time at the cabin. Quiet place with great view. Close to a nice vineyard and to a lake access. Highly recommend.
This was an amazing house and a great host. The town was exactly what we were looking for. Very clean
