Watauga Lake Butler Retreat w/ Private Dock!

This was the perfect stay for us. Such a cute & cozy little place.Very easy to locate & easy to get inside.The lake view is just beautiful in the evening & in the morning while having coffee & it is so peaceful.The kitchen is well stocked with everything needed to cook some of our favorite meals!Everything is convenient on the first floor, washer, dryer, bedroom & bathroom. There is a cute little loft with a full bath also.We felt right at home & very safe!

Perfect Fall getaway! Home was spotless and kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook all our meals. We also enjoyed the fire pit when the sun went down and sitting on the porch enjoying the lake views during the day!

The property was gorgeous. A cozy little slice of Paradise. My wife and children loved it, and I'm inspired to a cabin in this same area as a result of this trip.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The cabin was exactly as described, as was the location. A very peaceful setting, and not too far from stores and attractions.Steve was very accessible by text and/or phone call and very quick to respond when we had a question.We would highly recommend this cabin to our friends and family and would stay here again the next time we’re in the area.

House was well stocked. Communication with owner was quick response. If you have children must visit the Bright Zoo about an hour away. Also the old Butler Museum was interesting. We were there for ETSU/Elon football game. The drive to all of these things was an easy scenic drive.

Wonderful location! Very quiet and peaceful. The house was perfect for the two of us. Very clean! The lake is beautiful and the countryside around the lake is outstanding. Took numerous drives. The sunny days and 72 degree temperatures made it even more special.

Was clean, nicely appointed, loved front porch that looked out on to lake, comfortable sofa & chairs. Only 3 concerns - master bed springs/mattress was hard and noisy (enough to wake up spouse; nearby restaurant choices were limited; and communication with property manager was difficult.

Beautiful quiet lake cove! Loved morning coffee on the porch and late afternoon paddling. Traversing to and from the dock was not for the faint of heart! House was the perfect size for us. A few upgrades would do it wonders!

We could not have asked for more at this great house. Everything was there, perfect in every way! We are looking forward to our next visit!

We would definitely return to this peaceful lake house. Very relaxing to be on the lake. Nice swimming right off the dock. Very clean. Well-stocked kitchen. We cooked all meals there. We were fine with the sloping pathway and stairs between the house and the dock. The walk might be challenging if someone had difficulty with slopes and stairs.

Had such a great time house was very impressive and fully stocked with everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable my favorite was the covered deck looking out at the lake would definitely recommend this home to anyone and if coming back up would stay again Thank you so much

The home itself is wonderful and clean with everything you need right there. It was so nice to have everything available to cook with and especially having the linens already provided. I would recommend this place for a fun adult trip or with older children. We had our 3 year old and it was tough getting to and from the dock on the lake walking a good ways down a steep hill and a long flight of steps to fish or canoe. We would definitely come back when he is older and can do more on his own. The view is beautiful and its very quiet. But if youre looking to do any activites outside of fishing or water related fun you'll have to go a good ways outside of town! Overall a lovely quiet and relaxing home that was very clean. Just be on stand by if you're outdoors on the property with very young kids.

Good place to go, be nice to have a covered dock. We had a tough time fishing due to debris on the lake from storms.

The cabin was very clean and perfect. It was very nice and relaxing. Great way to spend family time bringing in the New Year.

The house was great. Perfect for one or two couples. Nice dock on lake but we did not use on this trip. We came here to help a couple whose house had flooded in the big storm. House was clean and in order.

Totally relaxing & beautiful!! House was super clean with anything you could possibly need. Dock was really a lovely way to spend an afternoon fishing from. Would definitely go back.

This cottage/cabin is awesome. Knotty pine is special. Everything needed is there and it simply feels great. We stayed nine days and each day your eyes go up to the ceiling as you “take in” the interior. I could walk up the knotty pine stairs a hundred times and enjoy looking at it. Great view of the lake. We liked everything.

Perfect size for us. My husband and adult son were there visiting family in the area. House was very well stocked and clean. Private dock is a good size. Fishing could have been better, wish we had had a boat. We saw fish jumping in deeper water. Lots of steps up to the house so you will get your exercise! Owner provided us with firewood for the fire pit (Thank you!!). House / beds very comfortable. I would stay again.

The only issue was the long and steep walk to the dock. Otherwise our stay was wonderful and everything we needed was readily available.

This was absolutely my “dream house”! Always wanted a mountain house on a lake! This was the most beautiful place we’ve ever stayed at! Would love to come again sometime.

Comfortable and cozy lake house in a quiet area. We had a great time on the lake and will definitely come back again.
