Many tripping hazards in this house… more than we could count! Not suitable for elderly people who walk with a cane. No safety escape ladder for upstairs in case of fire and Vacasa didn’t care even though we contacted them several times. Looks like they added on to the house many times and built with scraps they found. It has a crazy floor plan. Living room has two steps into dining and two steps into a secondary living room. Two of which look like brick front porch steps inside. Only plus would be there are a bunch of beds in this crazy place.
The property was not at all on the water and barely had a water view which was not we were looking for. The house itself was pretty clean but very spread out. I realize you have to bring everything so fare warning there was no coffee to be found at all.
Very clean, lots of amenities, well-stocked kitchen, great views, lots of character and space in the house! Our family absolutely loves staying here while we toured Acadia and Bar Harbor. Highly recommend!
We loved the house, very clean, didn’t have any problems!!
The property has a lot of space and is in a very relaxing neighbourhood. You still need to drive to the beach and getting to Acadia is still ~30 minute drive. We really enjoyed the fire pit and having a grill.
Clean and convenient, well stocked!
Once we checked we realized , main level bathroom door was not able to lock. We called management company to fix it. They said repair guys can only come next day. When the repair came to fix it next day, he broke the door, now it won't even close/slide. So we ended up with 1 bathroom between 10 people. They said it can't be fixed and need to replace whole door and it will take time , they need to talk with house owner. We had to manage with 1 bathroom for whole stay. It was painful as we have young kids. It delayed all our activities because it was taking long time to get ready with one bath. Also everyone's stress level was high with managing time with bathroom. It impacted overall trip and experience. I need to get good amount of refund for the inconveniences. There some other minor issues. Top level king bedroom had portable heater vent disconnected from wall , we connected manually but it needs to properly fixed so doest get loose. Also that room needs 2 portable ac- one for king bed another one for 2 twin beds. One can only supports one direction ,so need 2. Also main level bedroom needs its own door so AC can keep room cold . Main level room ceiling fan was also not working , we ask for repair and they couldn't fix it. Top level is king bedroom got locked out when kids where playing. We couldn't find a key and had call management company. They were responsive and sent a guy to help us. He also couldn't find key and had break side panel to open the door.
We came to go to Acadia and learn more about Maine. This was very clean and had plenty of room. The kitchen was well furnished. We did not have any laundry detergent, some light switches were in strange places. Pictures made it look like we would be on a beach, but we were across the road from a private property. Clothes washer smells like mildew.
Good location, cute and quirky house. Lots of room and a nice quiet location.
We had a wonderful time! The house was very spacious and clean. Plenty of room for 10 of us. Kitchen was stocked well. The lock did not work a couple of times for us luckily someone was there to let us in. One more bathroom would made the stay perfect. Lots of deer in the yard. We enjoyed our stay and wish we could of stayed longer.
It was a beautifully decorated house. 8 women stayed and had plenty of space.
The home had everything we needed for our family. From the moment we checked in we knew right away that would enjoy this vacation home during our stay. Just a short run or bike to the Lamoine State Park or the beach or just a short walk to the bay/harbor across the street. We would definitely stay here again!
The house is very spacious, kitchen had everything, nice furniture and a beautiful setting. Location is a bit remote but worked for us .
The home was spacious enough to host multiple families, was well stocked with anything you may need, and was very clean. It was about a 20 minute drive to Acadia but worth the drive if you are staying with a large group.
Upon arrival at this property we were greeted with a most awful odor, both inside and outside the house. We contacted the support number and were told someone would come out, but the odor was probably a residual gas odor from the filling of the tanks and we were not in any danger. About an hour later someone came out, during which time we were not able to use the stove, firstly because there was no gas and secondly because there was no tea kettle. Neither could we use the gas grill because that canister was empty. As it turns out, the smell was not residual from filling the tanks, but the tanks were completely empty and apparently emit an odor when this happens. The agent said he would try to get the gas tanks filled and there should be a tea kettle. There wasn't, so he said he would have on delivered to us. He also said he would have the trash bins emptied, which were full to overflowing when we arrived and he did replace the BBQ canister. Three hours later the gas tanks were filled, and the agent said the trash bins would be emptied the next day and a tea kettle delivered, but they were not. When we returned from a day at Acadia the trash was still brimming over and no tea kettle had arrived so we called the agent again and after a couple of hours the trash was picked up and a tea kettle arrived. When the cleaning agency sent an email to rate their services I replied that it was most unsatisfactory: Did they not notice the odor at the house (it was overpoweringly noticeable); did they not see the ants crawling over the steps inside the house, the cobwebs, dirt wood chips and strings from firewood bundles on both front porches, the microwave was dirty and smelly, the dishwasher had not been emptied, the plates in the cupboard were dripping wet, a wet mat was stuffed under the sink; one of the armchairs was broken so that you sat in it crookedly and there were crayon marks on the chair with the crayon still lying on the floor beside the chair! Cobwebs and dirt hung in the corners of the entrance room, the kitchen floor needed cleaning, there were staples in one of the rugs, and candy wrappers on the floor of one of the bedrooms, some upstairs trash cans had not been emptied. It would appear that this cleaning company did little other than make the beds and hang clean towels, which is a shame because this is a nice house. I am requesting a refund and compensation for the inconvenience and disappointment we experienced .
House was wonderful. Had everything we needed. Very well equipped. Beautiful home in a good location with nice views. Very comfortable with enough towels, toilet paper, well equipped kitchen, beautiful yard only 3/4 of a mile from state park and 1.5 miles from beach. My only slight criticism is of the management company. We received the wrong code to get in the house. They ended up giving us the lock box code for the key. They told us they would give us the right code but never did. Also, they had the WiFi info wrong. I ended up figuring it out by looking at the router but what they send is the wrong WiFi.
Beautiful place to stay with friends and family..
