The house is in a perfect location, walkable to Aviemore but close to Cairngorms, loch morlich and lots of other walks and trails. The house has the perfect layout for multi generation family break but is showing signs of age and was a little dusty in places. Great enclosed garden, perfect for the dogs and a lovely outlook.

Great family stay, location fantastic for enjoying the Rothiemurchus estate. We had breakfast in the cafe next door and used the tree zone and mountain bike facilities. Also nice walk to the main town. The property configuration worked perfectly. A few essentials such as milk, tea, coffee, salt n pepper would have been nice. The property was clean if not a little dated. The hot tub was a nice addition but did need some maintenance with the headrests and filter. Great stay and throughly enjoyed. Thank you

Really enjoyed our time at the Old ministers house. Hot tub was great, beds were comfortable and clean, house was within walking distance of the town so no complaints. That's our second time we have stayed at the house as a group and we would do so again.

What a fantastic house! As a party of 10 adults we spent a long weekend there. The house feels like a 'home' and is warm, comfortable and well appointed. The hot tub was well used, especially by those after crossing the bridge at the rear of the house and going for a dip in the river! The location is great to take advantage of the trails leading from the car park opposite into the Rothiemurchus estate, the walking/cycling trail to or from Loch Morlich/Aviemore, or there was the bus option too for any non walkers/cyclists. We will certainly return.

Loved the house, ideal location and plenty of space. The hot tub area outside was lovely and overlooking the river was bliss. Easy to walk into Aviemore or drive up to Cairngorm mountain. Utility and boot room perfect for skis, boots and drying clothes. Clean bathrooms, bedding and towels but the general cleanliness was not great overall - ovens, dishes and cutlery not cleaned very well and toys under the coffee table from previous residents. Not hoovered behind doors etc... I'm guessing the house is too big to be cleaned thoroughly in the 10am - 4pm window between bookings with the size of the cleaning team (?)

12 of us stayed over 3 nights and was fantastic. Communication prior to stay was excellent. On arrival it was clean and well appointed. The house and garden area was lovely with beautiful view. The suite at the rear was particularly impressive. Lovely hot tub area and the fairly lights a nice touch. Great location for exploring and adventures. Would highly recommend and would stay again.

The basic setup here is fantastic. Really well situated, and at a point in the past the property was clearly set up to be ideal. Since then it looks like things have begun to run down in the way that any short term let always does eventually. Things to keep an eye out for: Every knife and utensil has a better than 50/50 chance of being blunt or broken. The vast majority of the hob won't light, so avoid planning to cook for the property's capacity. Not all appliances will be working. Expect one dishwasher rather than the two, or if you're in our position, half a dishwasher as the only working one will have its runners trashed. Be very careful handling the kitchen tap, which has not been properly fixed. Any battery powered items like scales probably won't have a battery. The hot tub will be available, but only on the second day of your stay. When we stayed, we were told immediately that the previous guests had been particularly rowdy, and that their stay had necessitated an extra house cleaner for a day, if that's the case they did a good job, and I was initially under the impression that our experience was a bit of a one off. Unfortunately, when I contacted the host about the above issues, they opted to tell me that my group *also* necessitated an extra house cleaner before sending me a picture of a slightly damaged stool neither me nor my guests have ever seen. Either we have been mixed with the previous group, or this is a standard tactic. Take many pictures.

The Old Ministers House is superb and was a welcoming treat to come home to after a day out adventuring in the Cairngorms.

Hi 2nd stay at the old ministers house. Great location, large comfortable house. Had a fee glitches with the oven as the door would not stay closed, the light at the outside eating area was not working. Had a brilliant time and hope to be back next year.

We had an excellent stay. The house is very well situated and equipped, with plenty of space and very comfortable. Couple of small points, the beds could do with larger sheets as the current ones are a bit small so constantly come untucked. Also the oven door doesnt close properly so lets out a lot of heat impacting cooking times and some of the hobs on the stove wouldnt light.

A great house for our family to come together. Location ideal with plenty of activities on the doorstep. House very well appointed, nice touches with tissues in bedrooms, robes for hot tub, lovely whisky and honey hand wash from Highland Soap Company (available in a shop in Aviemore) Would recommend anyone looking for a large family house to book the Old Minister's House

Wonderful place for family gathering such as ours. Lovely rooms, well appointed and comfortable. Could have done with more attention to amenities (no salt, no soap/body wash in bathrooms etc). Would highly recommend.

We were a family of 7 adults & 3 children celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary. The Old Ministers House was ideal for us all. The property exceeded our expectations and was exactly as described. Very clean & spacious with quality furniture & furnishings. All linen & towels, dish towels & wash up supplies are all provided as are robes for the hot tub which we all enjoyed. The fresh flowers & shortbread were a lovely touch. There was a minor maintenance issue which was attended to right away. The location is very convenient for all the activities you might want to do. Overall a very enjoyable stay for us all. We would highly recommend this property.

stunning house, which easily accommodates 14 people , setting beside river is wonderful. Well equipped for self catering. Any queries are dealt with quickly and efficiently by the team at great north lodges. The hot tube was an added bonus. The bedroom with annex has excellent king bed , but the annex has bunks not that suitable for adults( up to young teens really ). Parking ample for 5 cars, covered area for bike storage (however this doesn't have a lockable door). Well situated next door to a cafe and farm shop and within easy drive or walk to Aviemore, road and cycle paths on your doorstep and easy access to lots of walking areas. the only slight drawback is the surrounding grounds are gravelled and mature bushes , no grassy area for young children, but areas available across the road. The river is not accessible from the house so safe for children . Over all 1 of the best properties we have used in this area.
