Sleeps 10 Near OSU & Short North Spacious Modern Home Columbus

The house was great with plenty of room for our 10 guests and close to downtown. The host messaged me that check in time was 4:00pm and gave me instructions on how to get in. He asked me to let him know what time we would be arriving. I messaged him and said around 6:00. I then got a message that said the house was ready and that if we were arriving later that they would do a deep clean. At about 4:45 I realized that we would be getting to the house at around 5:00 and I messaged him again. He did not respond or say that the house was not ready. When we arrived we discovered that the house had not been cleaned at all - beds unmade, dirty linens and towels still there from previous occupants and a dishwasher full of dirty dishes. My daughter called the host right away and he apologized and said he would refund our money. The cleaners came at about 5:30 and did just the upstairs, bedrooms and bathrooms. I told them not to worry about the downstairs because we had all of our stuff everywhere and it appeared to be clean. (I was not aware then of the dishes in the dishwasher.) They apologized and said that it had been a miscommunication with the owner. When I messaged the host the next day, he said he could not refund our full amount because it was our fault for changing our arrival time at the last minute. I assumed if check was at 4:00 it should have been cleaned and ready at 4:00, regardless of what time we arrive.
