Truro, Massachusetts
This immaculate upside-down home is located in a private residential neighborhood abutting National Seashore conservation land, with hiking/bike trail access to majestic Longnook Beach on the ocean side (1.9 mi.). Set on a gentle rise, it offers treetop-level views with a sliver of bay visible from the upper main level, where three sliders lead out to a large wrap-around deck. After a day at the beach, it’s the perfect perch for taking in a spectacular sunset while sipping cocktails and firing up the grill.
Inside, the spacious, light-filled open floor plan features a kitchen, dining and living area with wood floors throughout and an antique-style wood-burning stove. One bedroom and full bath are also upstairs. The lower level includes three bedrooms, a full bath, and a family room leading to the lower wrap-around deck. The attached over-size garage makes a great beach staging area and has a ping-pong table and bulkhead access to the full basement. Around the corner is a large outdoor shower. Snug and very sturdy, the house was built with six insulated walls to minimize sounds.
New in 2022, every room in the house is equipped with individually controlled AC units. The evening breezes usually provide fine cooling, but every summer sees its one or two heat waves and we're committed to your comfort.
The property is 1.1 mi. from the bay and within a 2-minute drive to local favorites Savory and Hillside Farms. With a home base in Truro—the Cape’s best kept secret—and easy access to both Provincetown and Wellfleet (12 minutes to either), it’s an Outer Cape getaway with something for everyone!

Very nice and comfortable
The property was very nice, especially the decks and location. We all enjoyed ourselves and were very comfortable . Only complaint-one towel per person....we saw the towels in the bin over the armoire, but they shouted...not for you as they were so hard to get to. Next time we will bring our own towels. The main living area and kitchen were great as well.
We enjoyed the spacious living room/ kitchen area and the deck. We felt the place could use a bit of an interior upgrade. The house is a 10-minute drive to Provincetown, where we spent most of our daytime activities. I already communicated to the owners that we had a problem with the Weber grill on the deck that would not start... a minor inconvenience that I am sure will be fixed. Overall, it was a great place for us. If you are looking for a quiet environment with a spacious living area, this is a good place to go.
Lovely Truro stay in a beautiful home. The upstairs overlooks the canopy of trees making you feel like you're in a treehouse. Great host. Short walk to great food and ice cream. Highly recommend.
We met up with my adult kids for a reunion. This house provided plenty of room, four bedrooms, and comfortable beds. The kitchen had every appliance and utensil you could wish for. The large deck was perfect for barbecues or games of Corn Hole, that we brought along with us. The family room was stocked for less-than-beachy weather with plenty of games and books The beaches of the Cape are among the most beautiful on earth, and the Shipshape home was perfect for this trip. The location was convenient to several beaches, and the local markets for fish and sandwiches were a hop, skip, and jump away. Not to mention the winery! Nearby restaurants in Wellfleet and Provincetown were easy to find.
This property was the perfect fit for a large group of college friends reuniting for a Truro Vineyard Wedding, however, it seems that there are some issues with the online listing. Communication with the host was great up until the day of arrival. Realizing that no check-in instructions had been provided, messages were sent informing the host of our arrival and requesting instructions. These messages were unanswered and the when first members of our group arrived, they found a locked house. After finding a way into the home, we found a property guide in a binder on the table, however, there were no keys for us to lock the home as described. Later in the evening it was realized that there were no bath towels in the house. With all 7 house guests from out of state, no one happened to bring towels. Luckily after calling the number provided in the property guide found on the table, we received a return phone call and were informed that no towels were provided with this property and that it should have been described in the listing. Luckily, the host was able to provide a combination to a locked stash within the house. The host also stopped by later that evening and left us a set of keys. All seemed well until we realized that none of the beds had sheets and came to realize that those were not provided either. I would like to believe that had the hard copy of the property instructions been available ahead of time through the online listing, many of these issues could have been avoided. It also seems that several items could be attributed to the previous guests not following instructions. These issues aside, the property was exactly as described in the “Overview”. The host was very apologetic and did their best to remedy the issues. Unfortunately, with guests traveling from as far as the west coast, this property may not have been the best option for us had we know that we had to bring our own linens and other household items (i.e. paper towels). Instead, we may have looked to staying in the local hotels.
We stayed at the property for four nights over this Labor Day weekend with our friends from NY. Everything about the house was just great. Kitchen was extremely well stocked. When renting a house, you don't know what you will find and usually we bring all the essentials such as spices, olive oil, etc. with us. This time it turned out to be completely unnecessary. The trail to Longnook beach was lovely and the beach itself just beautiful. The view from the balcony is great and stargazing at nights was just magical. Zak was very prompt with responding to my emails and was also kind enough to let us check out late on Monday as there no other guests coming in on the same day. All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay.
We enjoyed our holiday weekend here. The home offers upside down living for the most part which meant that folks who wanted quiet could sleep on the first level and be separated from the action upstairs in the kitchen/living room. The home was clean and the location was perfect! I would come back for sure!
This house was perfect, offered everything we needed, and the property owner was wonderful and accommodating. Highly recommend!
Everything about this property was great. The location is quiet and close to all the ocean and bay beaches, Provincetown and Wellfleet. The host is friendly and accommodating. And the house itself was comfortable and clean, with all the amenities our three-generation family needed for a great week on the Cape.
