We had a lovely time, despite a pretty crazy storm coming through! The host was excellent, and available when needed. Someone also stopped by after the storm to check on us, and let us know they had flashlights, etc. if needed.

Great space, loved the vintage vibe. It did get quite toasty upstairs, so knowing that now I would have set the thermostats lower. Easy checkout list, beautiful views, decent fishing. Two small suggestions, have a salt and pepper Shaker for guests as well as a dish drying rack. We would definitely come back!

Great house for a group visiting the Waupaca area! Matched the pictures and description, good communication, and everything was clean/tidy.

Our multi-generation family group of 14 enjoyed a long post-Christmas weekend at Shadow Lake Lodge. We’ve rented several large homes for our gatherings over the years and agree this one is at the top of our list! Very clean, room for all, and a well-equipped kitchen. The host was super friendly and extremely responsive. We noticed a mechanical issue and while it didn’t impact our stay, we wanted to make the host aware. The maintenance person was there in minutes on a Sunday morning and was also very friendly. We highly recommend this charming home. We hope to return in the future to take advantage of the warm-weather amenities!

The place has a great heartbeat. It is so welcoming and a breathtaking view.The kitchen has every gadget you need. The beds are firm. We really enjoyed the pier, fishing, hanging out on the lilypad, and kayaking were so relaxing. We enjoyed having a bonfir.e that we could all sit around. The inside was wonderful with so much space for all. We had a fabulous time and would love to return.

Great location right on the lake. Plenty of activities on and away from the property. We thought 3 bathrooms for 15 people would be a strain but it worked out well. Though the shower in the lower level is not really for adults. Great fun. Would book again.

Was a great space for the family to get together. Lots of space to spread out but great gathering areas outside, in the kitchen, and living rooms.

We really enjoyed our stay here, but we went the hottest week of the summer. The air conditioning unit is not big enough for the big house. It was very hot being in the large kitchen with vaulted ceiling.Broken door Nob to the main upstairs bathroom. Several people would get stuck in the bathroom including a young child at one point. It was easy to lock ourselves out of the garage and had to call maintenance a couple times. Loved the dock! So convenient and fun for the kids. Awesome having the beach nearby.

This was our third year to meet at Shadow Lake for some much needed family time. The house has an ideal layout for both family meals and social time as well as quiet spots to get away from the crowd. We love having all the kayaks, the canoe and paddle board available for fun times on the lake. We’ll be back!!

We have been there before and enjoyed the inside space with sleeping spots for 14 family members. The kitchen is well-appointed with what we needed mostly . But would like Kleenex. Salt and Paper. Regular coffee maker needs vinegar cleaning. Need more than two youth life jackets. Plastic cups in bathrooms. Provide more than one roll of TP per bathroom. Extra paper towel . Really like the new flooring downstairs!

Me, my husband and our two grown daughters all thoroughly enjoyed our time at Shadow Lake. It’s a perfect location with wonderful amenities like the kayaks & paddle boards. Our host was wonderful and very responsive to an unusual situation, handling it very professionally, which I really appreciated. Highly recommend and would stay again!

Great family vacation property

We had a great weekend kayaking, roasting marshmallows, and playing games. The house was the perfect setting. It was large enough that everyone had their own area when needed. This house was amazing!

I want you to know how much ALL of us LOVED the house and location. We agree that it was the best yet and we have rented quite a few over the years. You will see us again!So clean!

We had an incredible trip at Shadow Lake Retreat House. The place had everything we needed—plenty of space, a big kitchen, patio with stunning lake views. Weekend of fishing, playing games, and watching sports. The peaceful setting made it the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy some quality time. Highly recommend for a laid-back group getaway.

We had the pleasure of staying in the Pleasure Lake Retreat House. The home is situated on a small lake and has everything a group could ask for to keep entertained. It comfortably slept six people with room and beds to spare. There is a pool table, dart board, ping pong table, fishing poles, basketballs and a hoop and board games. We never got bored and would love to come back on our next visit to the area.

The property is very clean (other than the carpet in some areas), well furnished and organized. The equipment they provide for outdoor sports and play are excellent. The lake views throughout the house are amazing. There are lots of very clean windows! The multiple sitting areas are comfortable. One bedroom has only one tiny underground window, so the room is dark. Bathrooms are kind of dated. It’s right in town, but the neighborhood is quiet and the lake is beautiful, so it doesn’t feel like it’s in town. The instructions are very clear. (I’ll let the owner know of one confusion.)

The cabin was very clean, spacious, and homey. Plenty of areas indoor and out to hang out or find a quite spot. Kitchen had a lot of space and most everything you’d need. It was a nice stay and hope to be back in the winter for ice fishing.

The house was perfect for a retreat with some friends. Would come back it was absolutely wonderful. Property/lake is beautiful!

House was perfect and a great alternative to a hotel for our group of 12.

The layout of this house is PERFECT for a large group, especially of varying ages, with bedrooms on one side and common areas on the other. The fully equipped kitchen made it easy to prepare large group meals. And the living room was so cozy and welcoming for our winter weekend getaway. The lake access was perfect for ice fishing and I’d imagine even better for summer swimming fun.

Nice property, right on the lake. Able to go ice fishing. Plenty of room for all of us. Beds a bit firm.kitchen well stocked with dishes and cookware. Enjoyed by all.

Wonderful time celebrating Christmas and New Year's as an extended family! Everyone enjoyed their time in this special place and all look forward to doing it again soon.

Everything is perfect

We had an amazing time! The host was very gracious and communicated effectively. I have a 7 year old Autistic son and I was worried about being so close to the lake, but I bought some door sensors from Amazon to ensure he didn’t elope. Every thing worked out we really enjoyed our stay!

This was a fabulous home on a beauty lake! Well equipped with everything we needed.

Beautiful property

We just returned from an amazing girls weekend at this VRBO, and I can't recommend it highly enough! We hosted 16 girls, and there was more than enough space for everyone to relax, chat, eat, and laugh together. The three showers were a game-changer for our larger group, ensuring no one was left waiting. The huge windows offered stunning views, filling the space with natural light. The unique woodwork and cozy fireplace added a special touch to the ambiance. With two fridges, we had plenty of room for all our snacks and drinks, which was essential for our long stay. The kitchen was stocked with every utensil you could possibly need, along with an abundance of silverware, plates, bowls, and cups—truly a cook's dream. The property was impeccably clean and quiet, making it the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle. Our hosts were incredibly helpful, kind, and caring, which made our stay even more enjoyable. From the moment we arrived and saw the place, our jaws dropped—it was just that beautiful! We all wished we could stay there every weekend. This VRBO is truly one of the best we’ve ever experienced. We can't wait to come back!

Five adult couples stayed at the lake retreat for a long weekend. We had a friend’ son wedding at Camp Elsewhere which was very close. The views from the house are amazing. We enjoyed lake days outside. We did not use all the kayaks, Canoe or bikes that are at the property but so nice they were there. The house was large and comfortable for relaxing and sleeping. Highly recommended.

This place only has two things working against it from our stay. There were a few issues with cleanliness; hair in the shower, egg on a pan, and crumbs on the kitchen and living rooms tables. Secondly...HWY 10 is close and the noise is non-stop. The good, and there is more good than bad, the place is huge. We had no problem being comfortable even with kids running about. The lake is great and clear enough to snorkel past the weeds. We did fish from the provided kayaks, nothing huge, but we only fish like once a year. The kids had a blast fishing from the pier, learning how to snorkel, and learning how to kayak. Town is nice and close and the area restaurants we visited were great. The host was also a fantastic help at check out.

So much to do on sunny days and also rainy days. Plenty of kayaks, plenty of beach days and plenty of fishing time. All of us had a fun time together.

The Shadow Retreat house was exactly as the pictures look: a serene, private, older home with lots of character. Our group enjoyed kayaking to the nearby sandy beach to swim and the lake is pretty good for fishing, too. There's lots of spots to gather and dine inside and out. The game room is a super fun bonus.

All 17 of us had a great time! The space was perfect for cooking, eating, and hanging out. We also liked the separate areas for sleeping. The house fit our needs well. They also had almost everything there you would need for little ones such as a pack n play, high chair, and even the half door to block off the basement stairs was a good idea. They had all sizes of life jackets for the canoe, kayaks, and paddle boards, too. There are also folding chairs for inside as well as lawn chairs for outside. We liked having the washer and dryer available to us. The lake had clear water, but was a bit too weedy for swimming. We spent a lot of time on the back patio areas looking at the lake. We enjoyed the pool/dart room since the weather wasn't the best for swimming. We enjoyed our yearly trip!
