The cabin was not clean by any measures. There was pet hair EVERYWHERE. In the beds, on the floors, in the showers, on the couch. It got all over our clothes and blankets. The back doors on the home DID NOT LOCK AT ALL. Insane since it’s supposed to be bear country. All they have to do is put a paw on it and the doors open in, so they are home free. Let alone people being able to walk right in. The blinds at the front door were destroyed. The check out process is a lot on the guest considering how much you pay to stay. Overall bad experience

The cabin was listed as pet friendly but there were no places to take your dog to the bathroom. There was a fenced area under the back stairs but it was grown up with briars. There were stains all over the carpet in the master bedroom, the porch couch and the porch carpet. There were dropping from either roach or rat in the corners of the rooms and on the cushions on the outside porch. The comforter on the extra bedroom has stains on it. The lights in the kitchen and dining room did not work. The views were nice.

Had some difficulty checking in. There is a dropbox which I don’t believe was accurately described in the check-in process. Great views and very private. Cabin is basic but adequate. Small fenced in area in back was great for my dogs. Steps to cabin are steep and uneven and there is no other access. Would not recommend to someone older with poor balance. Otherwise an enjoyable stay.

Big Canoe is a beautiful committee and this property is in the back where it is serene and quiet. The property was perfect for us for a fall getaway. The instructions listed that there would be keypad on the door- there wasn't. We had to locate a combination lockbox near the door and figure it out ourselves. There was a moment of panic there that we wouldn't be able to get in! The roads are extremely steep getting to this location and the driveway is insanely steep. We parked in a pullout next to the house rather than use the driveway. I would not want to navigate this in ice-y or very wet conditions.

The steps leading down to the property were slick after it rained. My husband fell and injured his back and needed to receive medical care. There were no signs or warnings to alert us of this danger. Two of the three bathrooms did not have hot water and I had to take cold baths. All of the outlets in the living room were not working except for on one wall, along with the switch that controlled the overhead light and fan. Consequently, the living room was dark unless the tv was on. We were very disappointed in this property.

The cabin was very well stocked and has a lovely view. However, there were many lights out and no one ever came to replace them. There are steps from where you park down to the cabin that can be treacherous in the dark or rain, and NONE of the lights worked on the steps (and we arrived in the dark). There were no working lights in the entire living room, so we had no lights in there during the entire stay! Also, when we arrived the door was not even locked. We have used VRBO many times in the past and had no problem with our rentals, however no one did anything when we had problems and needed help. We called immediately when we arrived about these issues and nothing was fixed while we were there. If you consider renting this cabin, make sure all the lights work inside and out before booking it. Again, it was a lovely setting and had a nice view of the mountains.
