Serenity By The Sea - Chic Oceanfront Home w/ Deck

When you drive up to the house it doesnt seem like much but then you enter. The views of the ocean were beyond amazing. The house was spacious but still had a warm and cozy feeling to it. The trail to the beach was like going on a mini adventure and ending at your own private beach. Our host was very pleasant. We would definitely use this rental again in the future.

This home is in a stunning location, in a safe, clean neighborhood, and has direct beach access. The beach views made the whole stay enjoyable and worth it. The house itself is significantly older and more run-down than the pictures suggest. The path to the beach is also only accessible to more adventurous and fit people -- there were broken stairs, muddy (and potentially slippery) steps, and a brief steep hill with a rope to guide you down. We were able to navigate it well and enjoy the beach, but it could have been a problem if there were any mobility issues, young children, or older guests.

The property is not maintained well. Yard was in disarray, weeds, blown over bush, and unkept. The interior smelled musty and moldy. The photos of this location were very mis-leading. I called the contact person and did not get a call back. We were very disappointed. Several repairs needed to be addressed. It did have a great view. This was my first unsatisfactory Vrbo property.

Absolutely beautiful view from the house and deck. With a private trail to the beach, we had the whole stretch of beach to ourselves. We enjoyed the tide pools and agate hunting!

The amenities were good. The walk down to the beach was fun.

I was very uncomfortable with the cleanliness of the home. There were visible spider webs everywhere throughout the house. I highly considered leaving. I read so many reviews that stated they loved the place and it just smelt a little musty. But my concerns were much greater. There was mold in the bathrooms. The bedroom I stayed in looked into a weird closed off outdoor area that was covered in bugs/webs. The ocean access was sketchy. I was able to do the trek with my children and did appreciate the beauty and walk on the way down but I think there needs to be more transparency that the beach access is not suitable for young babies/toddlers or elderly people. Using a rope to pull yourself up a hill should be explained in the rental ad. This house needs a lot of updates for safety and health reasonings. The view was by far a seller but unfortunately I wouldn’t stay again.

Views from the living room and deck were stunning - it was so beautiful. It was quiet. It was close to town. We had a wonderful time. The property hostess was so accommodating and responsive. I truly appreciated her. We would go back.

Check in was easy. The kitchen is ok although the toaster burns one side of the bread!

We loved the view from this house and wished we could have stayed longer to witness more sunsets! The walk to the beach was a hike, but it was worth the trip.

My friends and I had an absolutely amazing stay. With the beautiful ocean sun sets and enough room for all of us. A great location and an amazing price.

What an incredible view both from the deck and from the large picture windows in the living room. Property manager was very helpful and communicative. The hike down to the beach was a little sketchy at times but the grab rope was very helpful. We would definitely stay again!

Thanksgiving at the beach with family

The view is as good as is gets! 180° of stunning beauty. The house wasclean.

The property needs some tlc. It smells musty in the basement and also when you walk in the home. It needs some deep cleaning. But otherwise it’s a good place to stay. Some arrows in the property signs would help you find it easier as it is behind another house.

We loved the location of this property. Beautiful view, and a fun trail down to the beach. Not necessarily an ideal trail for elderly or disabled people, as it gets a little rough, but we didn’t have a problem. The house itself is a bit musty downstairs, but sometimes that just comes with the territory on the coast. We would definitely stay here again

The bottom of the trail was scary ! Need a stonger rope or a rope ladder would be cool ! On the new steps the first top step has sunk in , and middle down another one needs firmed up! My grandson pointed out the sign on every Exit door about the becha at your own risk ! lol but it was worth it

Not a well stocked kitchen( baking sheets old, no mixer etc/ having to reset breaker. The TV on the lower level would not work. Property not well maintained. Bottom shower old and pan rusty. We are not snobby people but felt it was not one of the better houses we gave stayed.

Deck and ocean access was priceless to my family!

The views sold us on this house and they delivered! Easily accessible and easy to get around Brookings from this quiet neighborhood. The beach access is steep and rough at the bottom, but kids and adults in our party were able to make it. The grandparents stayed at the house. Super quiet beach with lots of starfish and sea life to view. House has some age on it, so if you want something modern and fresh this may not fit your needs. This fit our needs just fine!

The location and cleanliness of the inside of the house was great. But the outside of the house and property needs some major maintenance.

The location of this property is impossible to beat. The views and access to the ocean were amazing and made for a great stay. That being said, the house is old and could use updating and some deep cleaning. We really enjoyed our stay and would consider this property again solely for the private access to the beach and the fantastic views.

Looks as if living/dining area was remodeled fairly recently and are very nice and comfortable.magnificent views. Other areas were quite old and had not been well cleaned…dusty and kind of run down including front yard. Dead wires and a nonfunctional floor heater in one room. Main AC worked well but not heat. New laundry equipment. Kitchen well equipped but frig didn’t seal well and food in the back froze. Barbeque would only work for a short time. Doable and we loved the ocean views but it needs some TLC. It didn’t spoil our family trip. Just be aware
