House was as described, beds very comfortable, kitchen well appointed (except little under powered microwave but not a deal killer).

The home is older, but has character. It just feels like a great beach house with many happy memories. We were very comfortable there and enjoyed the views both of the beach and the bay. The beds were very comfortable, the dining area just right, and the living area big enough for gathering. There were a few minor details we have already reported to the rental agency and are sure will be taken care of. Overall, we would be glad to stay here again. It just felt like home.

Now our boys are grown and have families, and we've continue to vacation on St. George Island. We had 8 adults and 3 children in our group. In the past, we’ve rented on the plantation. This is the second year that we’ve rent at Sunset Beach because it’s not as crowded and closer to everything. On the whole, we had a fabulous time staying at Serenade Of The Sea. The four bedrooms/baths on the first level were very comfortable. The bedroom off the kitchen although it was advertised as having a queen bed it definitely not a queen bed. My husband and I slept there, and although the bed was comfortable, It was more like a double than a queen. I’d suggest putting a king bed in that room. I’d also suggest that they upgrade the shower head in the main level bathroom, get a better microwave for the kitchen, buy new pans because the pans in the kitchen were nonstick, which end up pealing, and allow at least two bath towels per person for the week. The pots were fine. We loved being on the beach. The living area couches and chair and the main dinner table was fabulous. The garage had lots of beach chairs and boogie boats although they weren’t advertised, so we rented and brought our own. I would recommend the house, but would only suggest one person sleep in the main level bedroom. The mattresses were all comfortable, which is so important when renting a house for a week.

A few glitches due to Hurricane Helene that were taken care of very quickly with just a phone call by such nice people. I highly recommend it. My only recommendation is if you have small children you need to bring a gate or two due to all the stairs , I am sure is the same with most all beach houses.

However we stayed here last year and the sliding glass doors were very difficult to open, especially for an 80+ woman. I had to have my son-in-law open them for me. We called your office and you sent the maintenance man to work on them. He did the best he could but they were still hard to open. This year I called before I booked and was reassured they were fixed. Sorry to say they were not. Also this year the shade in the second ocean view bedroom was broken. My son-in-law had to manually roll it up and place it on the frame of the door. Maintenance came and did the best he could for the door in ocean front room to open easier and your office had to call the curtain company for the shade. We really enjoy staying at this house since it is right on the beach, with elevator, and private boardwalk. One of the questions below is would you recommend this property to a friend, only if the repairs were truly made.

The location was great as the beaches were not crowded. It was nice to be close to the state park. The house had great amenities. My only complaint is that the sliding doors were really hard to open.

Enjoy our stay in St. George. There were a few things that need to be addressed but overall a good experience.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was beautiful, clean, Decor lovely. Our only disappointment was the lack of beginning supplies in the kitchen, particularly. Having come to Sunset Beach many years every house we were in had plenty of garbage bags plenty of cleaning materials for the kitchen and even coffee filters.. The coffee filters, especially were a problem because at the store on the island you could not get the right size so you had to go all the way into Apalachicola. There was not even a dustpan for the broom so it was very hard to clean the floor. There was no cleaner for the top of the counters.. There was only one dishwasher pod OK so I know if that’s your policy that’s the way it is. We will be more prepared next year. I think it was just that we were not used to that from any of the other years that We have been at Sunset Beach. We left some of the cleaning products that we bought because we did not want to pack them and felt throwing them away was really wasteful. Hope this helps. As we said overall, it was a beautiful place to be in.
