Pine Mountain Club, California
Located in Pine Mountain Club CA, this newly refurbished three bedroom, one and a half bath home provides an ideal retreat from the relentless pace of the big city.
Only an hour and a half north of LA, people find it hard to believe that they're even in Southern California. We're located at 5,600 feet, on the forested slopes of 8,831 foot tall Mt. Pinos, where all four seasons make themselves known, one after the other.
We're located walking close, down a charming path, to the quaint PMC Village Center, which offers many conveniences, from restaurants and shops, to a grocery store and bakery, to name a few. At the same time, our home has a secluded feel, being at the end of a 150' gravel driveway, with a 'green belt' on three sides.
Nestled in a grove of amazing 60' tall oak trees, it's easy to lose track of time gazing out the huge sliding glass door at 7,492 foot San Emigdio Mountain., or sitting on the spacious deck, listening to the streams that flow into the meadow below us. It's common to see deer grazing just below the deck.
Built in 1974, our cabin is kind of a time capsule of that era, with its shag carpets, beautiful pine paneling and very 70's color scheme. Don't let that fool you though; with broadband wireless internet, 42' plasma high-definition flatscreen with DirecTV and Google Chromecast, we are fully up to date with 21st Century technology.
This area is most popular for its proximity to Mt. Pinos (you can drive almost to the top) and the Winter sports (cross-country skiing, sledding and inner-tubing) associated with it, but many love it up here in the warm months as well, when it's 20 degrees cooler than sweltering LA, and there's always a breeze. There's great hiking up here, and bicycling too, both on and off-road. There's also a 9-hole golf course at the PMC clubhouse, and a swimming pool, so in Summer, bring your bathing suit! We have guest passes that entitle our guests to use all facilities at the clubhouse.
A lot of folks simply come up here, whatever the season, to chill out and enjoy each others' company. Next time you've got a week-end or more where you'd like to get away to a very comfortable home away from home in the beautiful, peaceful mountains, we'd love to hear from you!
We do not rent for more than 2 weeks at a time.

As before, this secluded and cozy cabin did not disappoint. We had a great time! The owner Chris has always been nice and helpful with all of the instructions and information.
Great cabin to stay, clean and cozy, Chris is a great host.
Pros-Beautiful location! Place is a little dated, but that added to the charm. Bed was super comfy. Movie selection huge! All pots/pans, utensils, plates all there. Cons- all though the cabin is “self-clean” it was dirty when we arrived. Dusty! Spiderwebs in kitchen cabinets attached to mugs/glasses and ants in kitchen. dirty floors. We just spruced it up our first day and it was fine. We did have to purchase candles/air freshener. Would we stay again? YES!!!!
So you get to make your own beds and do clean-up at the end; the cabin is totally worth it! Chris is a great host, really goes to lengths to make guests comfortable, and his cabin shows his long history of being a pro at doing that. Snow everywhere, easy access to trails and the road up to Mt Pinos for some unique winter scenery and views, as well as great sledding.
Chris the property manager was friendly and great to work with. The cabin was wonderful. Would love to come back.
Chris' cabin is exactly like the listing. We didn't have much opportunity to explore the surrounding area due to a snow storm, but we did enjoy Chris' large DVD collection, the beautiful fireplace, efficient heater and spectacular views. Chris is an exceptional host and very easy to get a hold of. We loved this cozy space and would definately stay here again.
The whole family in general enjoyed the stay in Chris cabin,is very cozy place. for the first time, we watched snow fall, it was very exciting, Don't worry about anything, you will find what you need in the area,
This was the perfect antidote to all those cookie-cutter vacation rentals. Felt like going to a friend's cabin -- rustic, secluded and a great spot to enjoy nature next to a roaring fire.
Our family wanted a weekend getaway to the mountains so our kids (7 &10) could play in the snow and do some sledding. Pine Mountain Club is a short drive up the 5 from Santa Clarita and was much more convenient than driving to Big Bear or other mountain communities in Southern California. The cabin is in a great location at the end of a cul-de-sac and the grounds are amazing. Our kids (and puppy) had a fun time exploring each day and we were able to take a walk to town down a charming path. We found great options for snow play and sledding near Mt. Pinos about a 20 minute drive from the cabin. The cabin itself was perfect for our family of four and had more than enough sleeping space. Everything about it was cozy and comfortable. We watched movies (you won't find a more extensive DVD collection anywhere) and enjoyed a fire the second night. You can find anything you might need, including firewood, at the store in town. I can't say enough good things about the host, Chris. He called to confirm our stay and go over everything after I booked and his welcome book in the cabin lists anything you might need to know about the property and surrounding area. Thanks, Chris, for sharing your cabin with us! We'll definitely be back!
We enjoyed the quiet get away. The property is located at the end of a cul de sac on a quiet street. The house is walking distance to the town, through a marked path or a short drive. In town, we enjoyed eating at The Perch and Condor Cafe, getting pastries from the Bear Claw bakery and experiencing the Christmas parade.-which included a picture with Santa. In addition, we enjoyed the sighting of a momma black bear and her cubs from the balcony.
Our stay was wonderful. There was no cell service and upon arrival I was unable to retrieve the check in instructions. Chris was available via phone (only Verizon, I have ATT) at 10 on when we arrived and got is settled without any issue. My wife and I were doing 3 Spartan races in Tejón Ranch so the family stated in the cabin on Saturday. They enjoyed the relaxing vibes and the large collection of movies (the instruction book covers EVERYTHING you’ll need to know). They even saw a bear. We all enjoyed our time there and wish we could have stayed longer, would definitely recommend.
We could not be happier with our stay at Chris' cabin. When we entered the property for the first time, we immediately felt home: the atmosphere was cozy, there was plenty of living space, including the deck, which like the whole cabin, offers maximum privacy, and everything was well maintained. The other reviewers were right: Chris is the best host, and he'll go the extra mile to ensure that his guests have the best experience possible. Highly recommended!
Wonderful in all ways.
We've stayed at Chris's cabin before and have always enjoyed the Cozy atmosphere.
Thanks, Chris, for an opportunity to enjoy a piece of paradise.
A nice place to rest and relax away from hustle and bustle. Very secluded, peaceful and private. Chris has a care taker who can come help you if needed. Chris promptly responded to my text when I had a question about entertainment system. Plenty of room in bedrooms. Tons of dvds to choose from in cozy living room with big tv and fireplace.
We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin/house! So quiet, everything one could need supplied, and an awesome host! Chris was amazing in communicating and providing information. We'll be back!
