This authentic, unique Midcentury Modern house is set on a sprawling yet secluded property located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac with lots of inviting indoor/outdoor venues and “rat pack” vibes, ideal for relaxing and socializing amidst a serene landscape.

Home Comforts
Interior highlights of this 2200 sq ft home include a large sunken living room with an impressive wood-burning fireplace, Smart TV and an extra roomy leather sectional couch, as well as a soothing Zengarden view to be enjoyed through the floor to ceiling windows.

The mod feel of the dining room is perfect for an intimate meal while the spacious sunroom accommodates larger gatherings with a dining area overlooking the expansive backyard through full height windows. This favorite gathering place also includes a lounge area with two stylish couches and a comfy recliner to take in the view.

The well-equipped kitchen is full of vintage charm as well as modern conveniences such as a convection oven option and access to an array of small appliances including a Breville motorized citrus press for all the fruit growing on the trees in the backyard! A full-sized washer and dryer station is adjacent.

Bedroom/Bathroom Sanctuaries
The inviting en-suite bedroom with a King bed offers a tranquil view of the garden from the sliding glass door and blackout curtains assure a great night’s sleep. There are two guest bedrooms, one with a King bed, double closets, double-sized dresser and blackout shade while the other offers a Queen bed, closet and an adjustable standing desk for the WFH professional. The two full bathrooms are design highlights of the home adorned with striking vintage tile work you have to see to fully appreciate.

Multiple venues on this large lot of almost 1/3 acre beckon you to experience the year-round outdoor living that is the quintessential desert lifestyle. The stunning backyard is a centerpiece of calm and relaxation thanks to the eye-catching fountain under the shady mesquite trees. This spa-like landscaping can be enjoyed day and night from the large backyard patio with ample lounge seating and misters or the sleek retro Acapulco chairs surrounding the gas fire pit.

Yet another fun hangout are the barstools overlooking the substantial outdoor kitchen, complete with a big built-in BBQ, two stovetop burners and drop-in cooler surrounded by grapefruit, orange, lime and Meyer lemon trees. This area is equipped with misters as well so is an ideal spot to cool off on those extra warm summer days with a cold drink!

One more backyard getaway spot is the secluded raised sundeck on a chaise lounger while reading a good book or taking a nap with the sound of the nearby fountain in the background.

A very rare and special feature of this location is it’s proximity to many hiking and biking trails in the surrounding hills. Just open the back gate and take your pick of which one you will explore!

Convenience Matters
Cathedral City Cove is a friendly neighborhood tucked up into the local hills and centrally located in Coachella Valley in between neighboring Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage, both only a 10 minute drive. It’s very conveniently located to Trader Joe’s, Target, Starbucks, multiple restaurants, Mary Pickford movie theaters, a local live repertory theater, and Agua Caliente Casino, all within one and a half miles.

    We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Midcentury Oasis! Perfect location for exploring the Coachella Valley and Palm Springs. The host was very responsive and the house was exactly as described and pictured. One of the best equipped kitchens we have ever had for a VRBO! Even had a juicer for taking advantage of all the citrus fruit in the backyard. And the backyard was amazing! With access to the trails behind the house. We hope to visit again!

    Home is impeccably clean! With plenty of room to spread out for families or couples. Higher end furnishings for very comfortable sun/family room and A sunken living room for TV. Nicely accessorized without being overly done. Charm of the 1965 build is exceptional, tile in baths and showers is amazing. Huge closets! Tranquil Zen backyard with the umbrella of mature Mesquite trees and fountains. Cozy firepit with nice chairs. Beautiful outdoor kitchen and sectional for lounging. Misters and the cabana by the pool and in the outdoor kitchen are such an added bonus, allowing you to enjoy even the hottest of days outdoors. 2 King sized beds and one queen, all with nice duvets (many VRBO’s only offer queens and rarely two kings for couples a huge plus!!) Hosts were available and eager to answer questions that came up. Wonderfully quiet at night and even during the day. Very dog friendly with tile and cement floors, completely fenced and safe for dogs. Great to have trays for entertaining, all white dishes to set a pretty table and ample wine glasses. Efficient laundry set up. Dimmers add to the ambiance of setting the perfect mood. Sharing the security system with our phones made us feel safe and not like we were NOT being watched. Truly a 10 out of 10 home!
