Stayed Sep 17, 2019We had a really relaxing family holiday in this home away from home in a very unspoilt part of Galicia. Friendly hosts, a spacious clean and cosy house with massive garden and many lovely beaches close by. A real hidden gem.

Stayed Jul 27, 2019We had a lovely time at this house, which is in a very nice location up on the hillside away from the busy coast. The house is very comfortably furnished and well equipped and the owners were very helpful. The only downside was that my husband hit his head a few times on low doorways, I think a tall person would need to take extra care!

Stayed Apr 15, 2019A wonderful stone cottage with beamed ceilings, and floors set over several levels, situated in beautiful lawned garden, adorned by lemon and orange trees filling the evening air with a wonderful fragrance. The cottage was light, airy and spotlessly clean. All the towels and bed linen were of a lovely quality and plentiful. Additional blankets for all beds also provided. Every room was very tastefully furnished and such attention to detail, useful items everywhere. Bathrooms with lavatory paper, cotton wool pads, soap and shower gel all provided. Boxes of tissues, little dishes of sweets, pretty candles... I could go on! A carton of milk, orange juice and some beers all awaited us, in the fridge. Tea bags, sugar and some basic store cupboard items too. Whilst cottage is in a small village, it was very close to main roads and motorway links, taking no time at all to explore the local area. We visited: O Grove, Sanxenxo in one direction and Pontevedra, Vigo and Baiona in the other! Sally and John were warm, helpful, kind and informative hosts. Were keen to share information of the local area, points of interest and good restaurants. Always received a very prompt response to any queries we had. We very much enjoyed our stay at this super cottage and hope to return. We recommend highly.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Two weeks around Combarro never seems long enough. The village is old, traditional yet full of life. Yes it is full of tourists, like us, but it does not lose its Galician feel. You won't hear many English voices. The sea feels ever present for sailing, beaches and the food. Easy access to Pontevedra (thriving small city) and the important cathedral city of Santiago de Compostela. If you are here over summer you are likely to encounter at least one fiesta in the locality which will be celebrated vigorously and noisily. The house is just a few minutes drive from Combarro which lends it a seclusion from the hubbub, or you can enjoy a half hour walk through the woods to get there. Inside it is cool, light and has everything you need. If you want to cook, no problem, and enjoy eating in the pretty garden. It was spotless on our arrival and Sally had left provisions to tide us over until morning. Night times are silent except for the cicada and, wonderfully, a nightjar. Anything to recommend? Parents may leave their electronics behind but young adults might enjoy an uprated internet connection if it is possible. Otherwise perfect!

Stayed Aug 5, 2017Lovely secluded property though not far from amenities and wonderful beaches. Limited height of some rooms could be an issue for persons of above average height. WiFi could do with higher broadband capacity. Our holiday was very relaxing and the property added to a thoroughly wonderful Galician experience.

Stayed Jul 22, 2017Comfortable, clean and well-equipped cottage full of charm and character and in a lovely peaceful setting. Sally and John were great hosts and full of helpful advice. We were lucky with the weather but the one drizzly day we had made us miss the luxury of a DVD player. Just a thought... Overall though it was a lovely spot and thoroughly recommended

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We had a lovely stay and had a warm welcome from the hosts who were very helpful during our holiday and gave us lots of local recommendations of places to eat and things to do. The house was clean and well maintained and we enjoyed the peaceful gardens (our son particularly enjoyed his job as lemon picker for the G&Ts) as described in the listing. My 72 year old father in law found the narrow and steep stairs between the floors tricky but was happy with the bedroom on the lower ground floor with the adjacent bathroom. The highlights for us were sea kayaking at Raxo and exploring the old town at Combarro sampling all the fabulous seafood and albarino wine.
