We enjoyed our stay at Ines' beautiful, rustic house that was perfectly situated in the countryside very near to Pontevedra. Our family of three and our two cats stayed here quite comfortably for one month as a soft landing when we moved permanently to Spain. Semi-wild horses wandered onto the property several times to trim the grass and snack on the apples that had fallen from her tree. We saw many hikers and riders on horseback pass by on their way to the trails on the mountain above the house, and though we were not able to hike ourselves, it looked like a beautiful way to spend the day. The house is quite rustic, and some doorways and the bathroom ceiling are quite low for taller people, but we adapted. We enjoyed most of our meals on the terrace with a gorgeous view of the valley at sun set. Its a great place!

We really liked this property - plenty of 'character', and blessedly cool in the heat & with a nice garden. The kitchen is 'old farm' style with an old stone floor which was fine by us. The bathroom was fine providing you are not over 6 ft. Nice tables for outside catering & comfortable lounge. Beds are hard but good. An eclectic mix of books, many from her family's past & most in Spanish. Ines was very friendly & helpful and has decent English. She provided all the appropriate towels, bedding etc. and the place had obviously been cleaned before our arrival. Good value for money. Good walks in the wooded hills behind the property & Ill de Arousa is a lovely beach area especially in the nature reserve in the south of that island (about 30k away). It's tricky to return from without a sat-nav or detailed map - we got lost a number of times. Local waterfalls are terrific (but avoid the owner's white wine in the upper Molina café if you value your dental fillings !). Only real downside was the local farm dogs who made a real racket throughout parts of the evening & night.

We had a wonderful stay in the rustic stone house near Pontevedra for a relaxing several days after our 6 day hike on the Camino de Santiago. Authentic and traditional stone construction with a beautiful and shady grape arbor shading a huge outdoor stone slab table that made for a relaxing place for sharing dinner and glass of wine. Easy access to main roads for day trips into Santiago, to the beach, or even into Northern Portugal. Awesome sunset views. Lemon, fig, and plum trees right in the front yard! Ines gave great recommendations and directions for nearby places to visit and was very easy to work with. Highly recommend this for family vacation get-away.

a large comfortable house with different sleeping options. the garden is particularly attractive with lots of different corners and spots to sit in. we helped ourselves to plums and oranges when we were here. small supermarket in the village 5 minutes by car. house was clean but beware low ceilings/doorways. owner was always helpful.

We had the most wonderful time here. Ines made our arrival very welcoming and the setting was stunning. We'd never been to Galicia before and although set back in the hillside, it was the perfect location to drive to various places, including the coast with it's amazing varieties of beaches, Santiago de Compostella, and nearby forest etc, all of which were great suggestions made by Ines. Being on the hillside facing west meant the property had the loveliest views of the valley below and spectacular sunsets. The property was also big enough for the four of us (and has good facilities for taking children if you have any). Ines also provided us with a BBQ which meant we could self-cater more easily. The kitchen is rustic, small and basic, but the rest of the place made up for this and plenty of different places to sit outside. All four of us would highly recommend this place and the warmth received by our hostess! Doran Family

Our week in Pontevedra was a wondeful experience for us, made more pleasant because of the home away from home we had rented, as well as the initial introduction of Ines and all the terrific information she provided to us regardimg the area. The house is very accommodating, lots of comfortable sleeping space and the beds comfortable. The ambience of the property and home was exception. There are fruit trees of so many varieties and we were encouraged to help ourselves which we did with the figs, lemons and apples...we made apple sauce to enjoy with breakfast each day. Two of the doorways are a little low....so tall folks beware......in my case it makes for a good story or two and a bruised ego! The location of the home is exceptional for leaving behind the hustle and bustle of the towns and villages and enjoying quiet evenings having meals inside or on one of the many patio areas available. The crowing of the roosters each morning was a great experience for us city slickers! Thank you Ines for the time you spent with us on our arrival giving us suggestions for day trips. We expecially loved the traditional restaurant in the mountains...we had the place to ourselves for three hours of bliss.

Beautiful and homely spot to recharge our batteries after we cycled across the top of Spain. Comfortable and warm with open fires, excellent hot water. Our group had a fantastic time here, felt very much at home from the moment our host opened the front door and handed us the keys. Relaxing view over the valley and within a short walk from the national park for running / walking. 15 mins drive to the beaches or Pontevedra - a great place to spend a few days. 40 mins to Santiago. You will need your own transport. Our host, Ines was very welcoming and helpful. My only caution is to watch your head on the stone beams and I would not recommend the house for someone who is 6'7.

If you only want a beach holiday this is perhaps not the best choice for you, but if you want a mixture of mountains, beaches, cultural sight-seeing, and just relaxing this, is ideal. Beautiful house with a great garden to sit and eat on a mountain side with hiking trails just behind it. You can drive to a nice beach at O'Grove in 30 minutes and beautiful Pontevedra with a great food market is nearby. Santiago is only one hour away. The people in the area are very kind and there's a fantastic restaurant closeby (Taberna del Rey).
