We enjoyed our time at the log house. It is very quiet with a lot of great amenities like a giant hot tub, sauna, full kitchen, and lots of history. We loved the animal mounts, historic memorabilia, and the location. Everything went smoothly with the checkin, checkout process, and our stay! The manager of the place was the best we have encountered. He was easy to get ahold, responded promptly, and was very helpful. He provided useful information on finding the house as Google maps wants you to turn one road prior to the house. We would definitely stay here again in the future!
We based out of here for a week of elk and deer hunting. Great location near the Blacktail Mountains. Also close enough to Dillon to run to town for supplies in the evening or early morning. The fireplace was fantastic to warm up to at the end of the day! There was plenty of split firewood provided. The hot tub was utilized by some stiff and sore hunters as well as the grandkids!
This was the perfect house for my husband and I on our honeymoon. We loved the wildlife, deer and owls, and the distance to the lovely town of Dillon.
The property was clean and had wonderful views. It was located outside of town which made it very relaxing. The hot tub and sauna were a nice added benefit.
Amazing house with so many things to look at and lots of interesting family history! The beds are comfortable and two bathrooms made for no waiting. The kitchen is fully stocked and easy to cook and clean. Two BBQ’s out back, one grate, the other a giant griddle! A warm inviting jacuzzi and sauna inside to use for aching bones. A sweet pasture of sheep and four horned owls for evening entertainment from the front porch. We found this place to be so relaxing and Dillon MT is one of the friendliest places on earth!
The beautiful clean cabin was just far enough out of the town of Dillon. The cabin comes with a cozy setting and a good amount of History.
We loved sitting on the porch taking in the beautiful Mountain View. The fire pit on the back was a nice treat. We got to make s’mores!
Your home and location are perfect! We gathered from states away for our sons graduation from umw and we loved the history and wildlife surrounding both inside and outside! The black stone spoiled us and now we are buying one! Thank you for sharing your family home and history with us!!
Family from Arizona and Indiana came to celebrate a graduation from UMW and this house was perfect! Amazing history throughout the home, wildlife everywhere- a family of horned owls live right out front. Definitely won’t disappoint! Thanks for sharing your family home with us!
Beautiful house, very clean, and had everything we needed. Host was responsive and helpful.
Great area
This property was wonderful for a staycation. Everything a person could want for a cozy get away in the country.
We arrived and wasn’t sure we were at the right place, no house numbers were on the property. The place was cleaned but some updates would be beneficial. I didn’t meet anyone to check in it was weird, the guy just sends his number if we need anything to contact and that was about it. He responded pretty quickly but was very brief. Bed and pillows are not comfortable at all. Overall experience was good just wouldn’t rent again. *Mr.Blake was very gracious to put a tree up for my family which was very nice of him!
This place has it all. Views, wildlife (elk, deer, birds,…), hot tub and sauna. All of this wrapped up in a nice log cabin. Loads of family history in this cabin.
A great House full of lots of wild animals and historical information on the walls. If you are an outdoors person... You will enjoy your stay.
Fun house in such a pretty spot. The house does have a lot of history and fun things to look at. The entire party loved all the animals nearby, especially the sheep. The house is pretty well stocked, but could use a few new pans for cooking. If you plan on using the BBQ, ask the property manager to make sure there is propane. All in all a great stay and a great house. I would suggest the property manager send the check-in instructions a few hours before check-in for future tenants.
I would definitely go back, there are an unlimited number of places to enjoy in the area.
Home is well maintained although an older home, built in mid to late 90's I think. Lots of history as the original owners are decendents from a family that settled in the Dillion area prior to Montana Statehood, which took place in 1889. There are some documents on display in the home that show this, so if you are a history buff, you will enjoy this aspect of the home. The home is 10 miles South of Dillion among some other ranch homes with lots of irrigated fields & some livestock around. Seeing Antelope in the nearby fields is pretty common as well. There is a sauna and a jacuzzi in the house too. Both were put in when the home was built, so have some years on them but both work well. From this location you can visit Dillion easily to get whatever you need, do day trips to Bannack State Park, Visit Coolidge Ghost Town, Big Hole Battle Field or Centennial Valley & Red Rock Lakes. We did several of these day trips and really enjoyed the stay. If you are a fly fisherman, there are more places to fly fish in easy driving distance than one can count. Beaverhead River, Big Hole River, Grasshopper Creek, to name a few. Most any of the small creeks that may not even have a name hold trout. Just make sure you have legal access to the the water you want to fish and know the regulations for fishing there. Relax, do a few day trips and enjoy your stay. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a relaxing ranch community atmosphere to use as your base to do numerous day trips or fishing trips from.
This place is amazing! Located in a beautiful area as quiet as it is peaceful. The comfort of the home was impeccable, especially with the hot tub and sauna on hand. I will definitely be returning and would recommend to anyone. Thank you!!
We love it!! A must stay and would stay again!! The home is comfortable and has lots of extras! Especially enjoyed the scenery!! We cooked in and ate out. Enjoyed the indoor sauna also. The beds were comfortable and towels soft!
This log home was perfect for us. We just needed a little getaway before our own vacation cabin season started on the other side of the mountain from here. Quiet and near the mountains, wildlife etc, but yet quick to town if you needed anything. And the best kept secret is the local gas station-cheapest gas around! Thank you and God bless!
Awesome hunting lodge like feel.
This place is dated….in a charming and interesting way. The family history stuff I normally don’t go in for at a vacation rental is actually pretty cool here. You definitely get the feeling that the couple who built the place really enjoyed a good time!
