Wellfleet, Massachusetts
This is a perfect vacation rental for a large family, a group of friends, or two couples with children. The upstairs has a master bedroom with queen bed and a second bedroom with twin beds. Downstairs is an additional master bedroom with queen bed and a second bedroom with twin beds. Each floor has a full bathroom. There is outdoor space on each level, with a screened-in porch off the living room upstairs, with a full dining table and chairs for outdoor dining, and a patio downstairs with an outdoor shower. Washer and dryer are downstairs in the spacious utility area. Both levels feature large landscape windows with unobstructed marsh views. There is a large eat-in kitchen for indoor-dining, as well as an additional deck with gas grill off the kitchen. Furniture is all new, floors are newly sanded, and walls freshly painted. The house is airy and spacious and, situated at the end of a cul-de-sac, very private and secluded. There is a large parking area with space for several cars, and a basketball hoop for outdoor recreation. The house is located just a few miles from the ocean and bay beaches, as well as several freshwater ponds. Also just a mile and a half away is charming Wellfleet Center, with shops and dining, the harbor and playground. The area is perfect for cycling and jogging, beach recreation, sailing, and fishing, and there are many nighttime activities to choose from. Boat and bike rentals are widely available, and local farmers' markets thrive in the summer months.
Plenty of room, well equipped vacation rental!
Wonderful property for a small group or family. Although it was a fairly rainy time, the house is comfortable and spacious. It is also very well equipped for entertaining, with serving dishes and platters, dishes and wine glasses for about 12. A super-interesting selection of books and art that give a homey vs. rental feel. We needed to contact the owner about a small issue while we were there and she was exceptionally responsive.
We have been staying on the cape for 10 years and this was by far the best place we have stayed.
The kitchen is well stocked and their are porches, screened and not, on all sides. Plus the owners and their relations are beyond gracious.
A lovely home with all the cooking amenities we needed. Easy access to beaches and ponds and town but entirely secluded. What a way to end the summer. Owner was responsive and a joy to communicate with. We shall return!
We very much enjoyed our two-week stay. The layout of the house is excellent. Our son and his family stayed on the bottom floor (two bedrooms and a bathroom), which provided them with privacy including their own outdoor deck. The bedrooms and bathroom on the main floor, where we stayed, also provided privacy from the common areas. The kitchen was well-equipped and large enough for group meal preparation, the living room had comfortable furniture, and we ate all our meals on the absolutely delightful screened-in porch. I also liked the location in that you felt very much away from the action, yet we were a very short ride from town. The owner accommodated my questions in advance in a prompt and helpful manner. I would rent this house again when vacationing on the Cape.
My extended family and I spent a week in Elizabeth's home in July 2017. If you have been captivated by the home's uniqueness, modern architecture and location, you won't be disappointed. It's truly original and feels as if it's wedged into the forest. Though the weather wasn't perfect during our Wellfleet stay, we felt like we had lots time to enjoy simple pleasures at home... reading, catching up on the screened-in porch, making meals in the well-appointed kitchen, or taking naps in the cozy bedrooms with amazing forest views. Town is just a short drive or bike ride away, and has much to offer: from a general store, and crafts shops, to quaint restaurants on the water and a wonderful produce/fish store. Elizabeth is a welcoming host who warmly shares her family's retreat with all of us. Find your way to Marsh End, relax and enjoy. Gratefully, Linda K.
This house was comfortably furnished and well-equipped. The common spaces were nice, altho the bathrooms were dark and a bit musty, The screened-in porch was wonderful, with a lovely view of the woods and was very private. We had a lovely time there.
Beautiful, modern home in a great location close to town, but far away enough from both town and Route 6 to be really quiet. Nice sized bedrooms, good kitchen and lots of outdoor space. The owner was really friendly and easy to communicate with. Highly recommended! The only thing to be aware of is that there is a spiral staircase to the downstairs bedrooms that would be tough for little kids. There is a gate there though.
We had a lovely stay in this quiet, secluded woodland home. We spent a lot of time on the large screen in porch overlooking the Marsh. The upstairs bedroom bed faces the Marsh. We had a great view. The house is ample for 6 adults or two small families with younger children, since the beds are single. The basketball hoop was a welcome bonus! We would definitely return.
