Booking Notes
We understand that plans can shift and recommend travel insurance for peace of mind during your Cape Cod getaway.
For Airbnb: We only set two costs—a fair nightly rate and the cleaning fee (based on what our professional team charges to reset the home). Airbnb adds a platform service fee and collects state/local taxes separately. We don’t control or receive those amounts.

Tides are the rise and fall of ocean water levels that happen every day. They’re caused by the gravitational pull of the moon and the sun on Earth’s oceans. The moon’s pull is stronger because it’s closer, and it causes water to bulge out on the side of Earth facing the moon and also on the opposite side.

As Earth rotates, different areas move into these bulges, which is why we get two high tides and two low tides each day. It’s like the ocean is following the moon’s lead in a giant, watery dance.
Please check a tide chart for Wellfleet Harbor (in your guidebook) so that you can plan accordingly.

Loved the place. Very clean and updated. You have to time the tides because it is on an island, but that was fine for us.

Property is beautiful, in a lovely setting, private but not too far from activities and great food. The house is maintained well and was perfectly clean, with a few maintenance issues which could be corrected quickly (bathroom doors that do not close and an extraordinarily squeaky upper floor.)

A unique property in an unusual but very appealing island where there were many other homes but a sense of seclusion. Not being familiar with the Cape it is quite a drive up the peninsula with significant traffic. The town of Wellfleet which was charming is a 20 min or so drive a way. There were beaches on the island but filled with biting flies. The beautiful coastline beaches required passes and some were more difficult walks to get there. The water was VERY cold and there were shark sightingsThe house was well equipped and the interior fine. We are an older couple and did not like an upstairs Tv. Also the inside had poor lighting and no comfortable chairs for reading. Unfortunately the weather was very hot and rainy so indoors was not that pleasant. Outdoors there was no protective sun umbrella except over the eating table. This is not a house for everyone but if you don't mind what we did it's just fine as is the location.

We arrived at our destination at Heart of Cape Cod to a log cabin, different in appearance from other properties in the area. What we found was an amazing home in a beautiful, private location on Lieutenant Island. As described, there has been nothing spared in providing every comfort and luxury in this home. The couches and beds were all so comfortable, the kitchen, with high end appliances and fixtures, had everything one would need. The house was fun to explore with with its amazing beamed ceilings. Out back is a large private deck where we sat at night listening to the waves off the nearby coast and the wind rushing through the pines. No traffic noise, only nature, but close to all the beaches, restaurants and shops. A lovely drive over the bridge, which was never inaccessible because we timed our trips to and from with the tide. Such fun to obey the laws of nature! Above all, so perfectly clean! We couldn’t have asked for a nicer home to spend our weekend on the Cape and only wish we could’ve stayed longer.

The open floor plan and brand new gourmet kitchen made for a wonderful Thanksgiving. We could be in the kitchen together with loads of space to work. Lieutenant Island was peaceful and unique. Be sure to check the tides when planning your day. The host has thought of everything you might need and made it easy to find what you are looking for. We really appreciated the Sonos system.

We loved everything about this house. The location on Lieutenant Island couldn't be beat, and we really enjoyed jumping off the bridge at high tide and taking in the sunsets. The house was inviting and offered a cozy retreat after a day of exploring the Outer Cape. We truly appreciated the little extras - like treats upon check-in and the re-fillable bottles of toiletries. We hope to be back next year!

Booking and communication was easy and super-fast. My two teenage kids and I visited for just a couple of nights between Christmas and New Year. We have always loved the Cape in winter, and this trip was no exception. The house is tucked away down a lane on Lieutenant's Island: a magical spot. The house was exceptionally clean and well-stocked. I thinks it's been recently remodeled, and was a lovely, cozy space to hang out in and play board games, read, etc. Having two living spaces, one upstairs and one down, was nice for when people wanted to take quiet time. I absolutely recommend you visit this gorgeous house; we will almost certainly be back.
