Screened porch, Lake Huron views, quiet sub, walk to beach and town in minutes!

Great place! Perfect location. Enjoyed the nautical themes in the house along with the screened porch with the fun decorative lights. Easy to walk to park - even saw a deer on one of our walks! Would definitely recommend and would return again!

This is a cute little house. Close to a lot of things. Kids enjoyed the beach time. Sitting on the porch when it rained was wonderful.

Very nice, clean place to stay. The Farmers Market was amazing and everything in walking distance to town.

We loved the porch and all the knotty pine. Beds were clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked. The Weber grill was new. The closest beach wasn't swimmable but was pretty. The only constructive comment i offer is that the toilet in the shower bathroom rocks becase the floor and tile need to be replaced. The vrbo service fee and breakage insurance fees were excessive and left us with a negative view for future rentals with them.

The location was perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Port Austin Thank you for opening your home for others to enjoy.

This house is well stocked with needed supplies and also clean. It is a very easy walk to a nearby beach that was not busy while we were there during early August. You can also easily drive to several other beaches within 10 minutes. The host is responsive and helpful. If you have a little down time at the house you can also try to solve some mysteries. It is a great place to relax! I would definitely book this place again!

This was an awesome place to stay while in Port Austin, really close to the town and the beaches loved spending time in the screened in porch. 4 adults and 3 kids fit easily.

My grand children, two thirteen year old boys and one 11 year old girl and I hold what we fondly call Grammy Camp each summer. The cousins get some extended time together and I get to enjoy exploring our state with them. This cottage was perfect for us, everyone got their own room, 2 bathrooms (need I say more?), and the kitchen was so well equipped for anything we might have wanted to cook! I especially enjoyed the screen porch in the mornings for a peaceful cup of coffee, we also used the porch to do some crafting (painting stones with paint pens, no mess!); the dvd selection is epic, and later in the evenings we enjoyed a fire outside in the fire ring. We walked several times down to Bird Creek Park, my distance runner grandson did his daily runs on the peaceful streets and sidewalks, and we found many places to explore within a 30 minute drive. The owner supplied an ample number of towels, and was quick to reply when contacted.

We loved the location and well stocked kitchen. The deck was great and there was plants of space to host our larger family for dinners. Check in and out super easy and owners very responsive.

We traveled to Port Austin for the 2025 Porchfest with a group of friends and stayed at this rental. We were very close to all the activities, music, town and the beach. Everything was in walking distance.The unit was roomy enough for the 8 of us. There were 4 bedrooms with either full or queen beds. Our bed was comfortable but a few in the group said they kept sinking toward the middle of their bed. We cooked most of our meals at the house, with a low country boil outside on one night. Delicious!! There were also a number of good restaurants and food in the area. I would recommend this as a rental property for friends and family.

This is the perfect space for a stay in Port Austin. Mary is an excellent host and extremely responsive. She helped us download an app on the TV to watch the Tigers and even helped find my husbands wedding ring/send it back after our stay. Her kindness and responsiveness made for the most comfortable stay, plus the house is stocked with helpful necessities.

Very well stocked with just about anything you could think of needing. Only thing you need to bring is your clothes, food and shower products. The host is fabulous and responds quickly. We will definitely be back as we felt comfortable and at home.

Overall a decent stay. Pros: Affordable, very well equipped with kitchenware, beach toys, and towels, as well as papergoods. Great location and walkable to town. The cons: Walls in the back bedrooms are essentially just plywood/paneling. You can hear every breath, snore, conversation, TV through the walls. You can also see through the cracks in the corners where the walls come together. Finally, the bedroom and back bathroom doors are all wood with metal latches and several did not latch/lock and thus would not stay shut which is problematic when trying to change and/or if you like your door shut at night. We ended up propping something against the doors to keep them closed. Just a heads up that the lack of quiet/privacy may be an issue for small children trying to nap and/or those who need quiet to sleep.

We had a wedding in town and this rental was within walking distance to the venue. It had everything you needed and you could even see the water! I had to reach out to the host and she replied within the hour.

Great location. Very close to town. Emails were responded to quickly and the house was well stocked with everything we need easy to find. Loved enjoy the view from the screened in porch and deck. Rooms are small and don’t have msny plugs, but worked well for our needs. Would stay here again without question.

The home was nice but it could have been cleaner. The edges where the walls hit the floors in the bathrooms needed a good scrubbing. Also the window edges in the sun porch were very dirty. The coffee maker was left dirty and full of grounds. The giant trash can in the kitchen was unnecessarily large and a little stinky. The views of the lake were awesome though.

Enjoyed the property very much. Walkable neighborhood and easy to catch sunsets at Bird Creek. Host communicated to perfection. Will likely book again when we return to the area.

We went for a girls weekend. Had so much fun, even though we got snowed in. The house was warm and cozy, we had everything we needed for a great stay. The beds were incredible comfortable. We watched movies, played board games and cooked delicious food. Thank you Mary! We had thad a gret time.

Rented this property for a hunting trip with my two sons. Its a good size for 3-5 ppl. 10 ppl could 'sleep' in this unit but it's too small for that many ppl all day. No washer or dryer, no dishwasher, but that was expected. Clean house. very close to downtown Port Austin. Easy access.

We rented this house to stay during our golf weekend. It’s a nice little house in a great location. Minutes from town and located in a quiet neighborhood. Would absolutely recommend staying here!

We were visiting Port Austin, MI from Hermitage, PA for a family wedding at Bird Creek Farms. The BNB was perfect for our little family of 5. The host, Mary, was extremely kind and easy to communicate with. Should we return to Port Austin, we will be sure to stay here again!

Mary took us in after our scheduled accommodations cancelled and was very helpful, letting us arrive a bit early to get dressed for our afternoon wedding. The cottage is adorable and very close to the beach and downtown Port Austin. Very well stocked. Plenty of rooms and bathrooms for the family, very comfortable. Highly recommend!

I have to say Mary is a very nice property host. She answered our questions to be sure we felt the house would meet our needs. I rated it a 3. When we arrived the house was open and i was concerned that i had the wrong address and that someone was there. Upon further inspection we decided to enter. I think there needs to be more caution taken in regards to this. It is a safety concern given the world today. When putting our son to bed we were shocked that the beds were not made as if someone was sleeping in them. I made the beds. we noticed no AC as well. Mary message me, and asked if we could leave the house the following day to have it repaired for a discount. We agreed and we received a small discount of 100.00. The house isn't ideal for someone in a wheelchair. If you're able to walk you can manage. The space is tight and not easy to maneuver. My husband got bitten really bad while sleeping in more than one bed. All over his legs. He is allergic and we ended our stay a day early. The dates posted are not accurate. Our stay was Thursday august 14th to the 18th. We left on the 17th. Anyway that was our experience. there.

We had a very nice 4 night stay at Mary's place. We loved being able to see the water from the home and being close enough to walk to swim at the beach. The pictures show the cottage perfectly. It was great having 4 bedrooms for our family of 10, The kitchen was well stocked. We all agreed we would be very happy to return.

This home was super cute and locatrd in a great area, close to the beach and downtown area. We brought up a golf cart for a wedding.at the Glen Royal a few blocks away.

Well suited for our stay

We had a great stay. The house is close to Bird Creek Park and very walkable to downtown Port Austin. We loved all the extras in the cottage - DVDs, CDs, board games, and plenty of kitchenware to make meals. The owners are very gracious. Would stay again next time we are in the Thumb.

This house was perfect for our stay with our 3 kids. With 4 bedrooms and 2 baths everyone had their own space. The location was great because you can walk to town and the beach or across the street to catch the sunset. This was probably the most well-stocked place I have ever stayed. Had everything we needed to cook, grill and even store the leftovers. If we visit the area in the future I would definitely stay here again.
