Rochester, Vermont
Come immerse yourself in the green mountains of Vermont. Our beautiful home is situated in the quaint town of Rochester and was one of the very first schoolhouses in town back in 1772. Centrally located two steps from Rochester town you will find a perfect balance of comfort and history to enjoy. Equidistant to Sugar Bush and Killington (30 min drive), and walking distance from swimming holes, bike and walking trails, this School Brick house is the perfect location for a vacation.
Stepping into this property was like stepping into a piece of history. With it's original-looking wooden floors, exposed rafters, & chic-looking decor, guests will be more than pleased with their stay here. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms were updated, & the kitchen was fully functional and came stocked with all the utensils & dishware necessary for one's stay. The only downside (if you will) is that the second floor does get really warm but we were warned about that ahead of time. This was my first trip to VT, and I am so thankful we stayed on this property. I will definitely be returning the next time I'm up here!
Neat house! Enjoyed the area. Local restaurants were good. Enjoyed our visit!
We had such a wonderful stay at this former schoolhouse in Rochester. It is gorgeous inside & also very comfortable. We loved the original wood beams & floors but appreciated the modern conveniences as well. The screened porch is great for enjoying some outdoor time. We also appreciated being able to do some laundry & all of the other touches that made this such a great stay
1/10th mile from town on a quiet street, excellent food market in town, this was perfect as a base for hiking in the area. The ground floor has 3 BR, 1 bath, laundry. Open top floor has kitchen, bathroom, porch. First could use a dehumidifier in summer, top floor has very quirky wiring and it would be helpful to have a written guide to the different switches. Friendly hosts
This was a great property for our family of five. There was plenty of room in the three bedrooms on the first floor, along with a nice large bathroom. We also enjoyed the open concept upstairs with a kitchen, family room , and another big bathroom. Ruben was a lovely host and quickly responded to any questions.
The house was very clean and unique. I love historical property’s as I own a 200+ year old house myself. This house is a prime location for town. The town is mostly dead during the winter but it’s perfectly between killington and sugarbush for the winter. In the summer Rochester is a little more lively and everything is open.
We enjoyed staying at your property for our ski weekend. The house was clean and had all the right accessories and everything was precisely where we needed it, perfect for our family. We look forward to a future visit!
We had a great stay at your property during Christmas.
