Scenic riverfront home on quiet stretch of Guadalupe - waterfall by front porch

Amazing views and pet friendly.

This is great spot on the river. The view of the river and waterfall is beautiful. This spot on the river sits below where all the tube rides get out so you don't have to see or hear a bunch of tubers. The kayak for two was a nice touch and we enjoyed being on the river. If I'm ever in the Hill Country again, this is where I'll stay.

The house was clean and well appointed. The sunroom was a fantastic space. We loved having the variety of place to gather, in and out of the house, and the rocking chairs and Adirondack chairs. The flagstone patio down by the water with the fire pit was a wonderful place in the evenings. And there were so many birds and animals to see in nature each morning and afternoon. And, little thing but a big thing to us, we appreciated that many of the lights were on dimmers. Loved all of the windows letting in natural light. The (newer) guest bathroom off the sunroom had a fantastic shower. And the other bathroom by the guest bedrooms was also updated. We easily found instructions and supplies around the house. Would highly recommend for a small gathering) there were 5 of us. We absolutely hope to book again!

We spent a wonderful long weekend with family at a lovely location. The property was beautiful, offering a stunning view of the river that truly enhanced our time together. Everything about this place brought us joy and comfort. Chris was very communicative and caring throughout our stay. We’re already looking forward to coming back.

This place was great! We went in march for a spring break weekend. Our dogs and kids (and us!) loved hanging on the deck. We got the tubes out and sun bathed in the river- the water in front of the house is nice bc it’s pretty still and you can float around without heading down river. Everything was as described. We enjoyed hiking at canyon lake and highly recommend eating at Wildflour and Gennaro’s- both were excellent!!

Great communication with Chris. The house was so welcoming as soon as we walked in. Everything was ready. The lights were on. It was warm and cozy. That view is amazing. It was clean and comfortable. Just what I needed.

Once again a great stay. Actually got to use the fireplace this trip. We will be back next year.

The communications with owner were good and it went very well. Great location with friendly people. Didnt realize there was a grocery store just down the street so you dont really have to bring alot of food to put in the fridge. Really chill and has all of the amenities you need. The access to the river is great and kayaks/tubes available at the house. Really a cool little town and get away. The only thing is that we couldnt get the firepit started but not a game changer. We are going to tell friends and family about our great experience there.

House was very well stocked with everything we needed. Beautiful location and easy access to the river just out our back door. Conveniently located to nearby attractions such as Gruene was a big plus!

We will definitely be back. My family and I had a truly unforgettable vacation. We spent a lot of time on the deck, captivated by the river. Kids enjoyed spending hours kayaking and tubing. It was a sad day to have to pack up and come back home. We are already planning on coming back next summer!

This is a property we stay at often in the Hill Country. Peaceful and restful with the sound of the flowing water below. Lots of wildlife to watch. An excellent place to get away from the larger cities in Texas.

This property is beautiful! What we loved most is that you could hear the river even before stepping foot into the house. Chris provided all the essentials for enjoying the river- tubes, kayaks, chairs, etc. Check-in was easy and Chris was always prompt with his responses to any questions we had. The house is exactly as pictured- the sunroom and decks provide absolutely stunning views of the river and wildlife (deer, cranes, turtles, etc)! The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. Definitely recommending to friends and family, and already looking forward to our next visit!

This place is in a great location. Minutes from town but the backyard descends to the river where tubers are common. New handrails were a godsend. Sunroom was perfect for viewing the river when it was too hot to sit outside. Lots of shade and porch swing was loved by my 3 year old granddaughter. Upper deck was great first thing in the morning for having coffee or breakfast. Schlitterbahn was literally minutes away, along with shops and restaurants. House was clean and ready when we arrived. We'll be coming back.

Gorgeous place with direct river access. Comfortable for a small family gathering. The only thing several of us said was that front porch door was going to hurt somebody. It opens the wrong way and it’s hard to step out without falling off the porch. We carrying boxes of food etc and it could be down right dangerous. We all said, BE CAREFUL each time we went in or out

I pulled my mom away, so she can take a break from taking care of my dad fulltime and this place was PERFECT! If you are looking for a quick getaway to just decompress, this is the place. My favorite thing was just enjoying a morning cup of coffee outside, listening to the water flowing, birds chirping, and the wind hitting the leaves. I highly recommend this place!

We had the best stay — this location is perfection. The house was quiet and clean. We were just a short drive to so many places to explore like Wimberley and Gruene. The owners had fantastic communication and instructions, which made you feel like you were right at home. Can’t wait to come back!

Perfect to get in the river for Rainbow Trout

We have stayed at this property numerous times over the years. Located on quiet river ftont end of little community of Sattler. Works well for older adults and yojnger adults with kids. Never disappointed with anything and Owner very helpful if needed.

We had another wonderful time at the River House! Perfect, cozy space. We fished and played games and watched the birds. The back room and porch are the best!

The location at the dam in the river, along with the rocky section on the downriver side of the dam, creates a constant serenade of running water in the river - my favorite sound! I spent most of my non-sleeping time out on one of the multiple decks listening to the river run - Guadalupe is always chilly and we were there in early November, but I was still able to get out on the river. Very convenient location, quiet neighborhood and close to any groceries or food options you could need. 5 minute drive to Canyon Lake dam, where there is a park and you can walk across the top of the dam (couple miles over and back), and there is a nice nature trail that follows the river across the highway at the base of the backside of the dam. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will likely be back next year!

The home was just what we needed to get away for the weekend. Its location is ideal to make you feel like you are a bit remote but also having access to wonderful restaurants and shopping. Our boys fished out the back door and we listened to the water. The host was kind enough to send a welcome packet prior to our arrival with clear instructions as well as recommendations on things to do in the area, places to eat, and local events. We will definitely be back.

The property owners are super pleasant and supply all the information you need. The property is clean, well-stocked, with everything you need at your fingertips. The river view is amazing and the atmosphere quiet and peaceful. Will definitely come back for another stay!

Couldn't pick a better location. It was perfect. The house is cozy and the location is quite. We brought our Lab and felt comfortable letting him swim and explore the spillway. The bed is comfortabe - we slept like babies!!! When we come back to this area, we will definitely return to this VRBO!

This was a great place to stay and get away from the big city of Houston! The location was perfect! Quiet and direct access to the Guadalupe River was a huge plus. Gruene was very close and the recommendations for restaurants were perfect from the owner. The ability to use the tubs was great. We really enjoyed our time on the river and just sitting on the deck and enjoy the sounds of the water. We highly recommend this location. Thank you for sharing your home. Well appointed house surrounded by natural beauty. Easy access to river and recreational kayaks provided. Home description and pictures are as advertised. Quiet and relaxing space.

Clean and well-equipped with outstanding location on the river. Loved floating the river on tubes provided. Great proximity to Whitewater Amphitheater.

Very comfortable, cozy home in a good location to some Trout fishing spots down stream. The water by the spillway is cloudy due to silt but improves up stream. There are steps to take to get to the river but the added railing helped us seniors handle them with more ease. The large trees shade the back yard mostly so able to enjoy the outside even in the heat of summer. The house has everything you need and then some. It can easlily accommadate six adults if needed. The only negative was a too soft mattress in one bedroom and the need for light filtering shades in the west facing windows in the sunroom to help keep that room cooler. A few good local restaurant recommendations are Wildflour Grill and Elio's Pizzeria. Enough nearby towns offer more choices in shopping and restaurants. Would recommend this home for any adult get aways.

Returned for another stay at this honeymoon the Guadalupe! We love it! Cute town, close to neighboring towns like Gruene and Wimberly for shopping, and spent SO much time in the beautiful sun room.

We had such a good time at this home in June, we decided to do one more trip! Home is nice, comfy, and clean, but honestly we’re here for the river and the outside space is primo! Thank you!

Stay was amazing

This place never disappoints. It is a great place to rejuvenate the mind, body and soul from city life. The serenity and beauty are just incredible. There is no better way to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature than by sitting on one of the decks with your coffee before the sun comes up and watching it go down in the evening. We love watching the deer in the field across the street from the house and if you look hard enough you can see them in the thicket across the river. There are plenty of squirrels to watch play among the trees and we were so excited to see 3 foxes this year across the river. Absolutely beautiful. We LOVE the new railing put in place to assist those who need help getting up and down the stairs to the water. Great update. Looking forward to another trip here. This is our favorite Guadalupe River go to spot in Texas Hill Country.
