Powder Days!
In Montana, frosty temps and falling snow usher in an action-packed season of wintery fun and adventure. You can ski or snowboard at one of the areas 2 ski resorts. Not a downhill skier No problem! With snowmobiling, snowshoeing, dog sledding, cross-country skiing, ice fishing and more, there's something for everyone who wants to play in the snow. The snow can arrive as early as October and can linger through May. Montana offers one of the longest winter season in the lower 48 states to skate, schuss, glide and soar.

Glacier Ridge Resort provides snow shoes and poles in various sizes for adults and children. We also have maps, books and trail suggestions available for our guests.
Travelers should bring sturdy winter boots and dress in layers for a variety of winter conditions.

Traveling by train Please note: West Glacier Train station is located at the bottom of the mountain from the property. This working railroad line runs parallel to Highway 2 in West Glacier. A slight rumbling can be felt in the house when a train passes by. The trains do not blow a horn when they pass through the area since West Glacier does not have an intersecting road with the trains. The history of Glacier is based on these rail lines and is an interictal part of the location.

Ring Security camera with motion lights is located on the porch next to the front door.

I loved my stay at the Scenic House. It was a great experience. I woke up to a peaceful, scenic view each morning from the second-floor loft. The property is well-maintained and just what I needed for my three-day stay in November 2025. The temperatures during my stay were as low as 5 degrees, and the house was warm and comfy. I hiked during the day at West Glacier and spent my evenings on the couch in front of the fireplace, enjoying the snow-covered scenic view.

Stocked very well and clean inside. Decks and outdoor table could have been swept. Would be nice for tv to be in livg room, and tv instructions clearer. Who has a blue ray player anymore. All else very good

We enjoyed a wonderful mini vacation at Glacier National Park. This property was perfectly located, clean and well-furnished. There were even beach chairs, towels, and a cooler available for our use. The hosts provided helpful information about the area and also directed us to recreation.gov in advance of our stay so we were able to plan our agenda and buy needed passes in advance (which we strongly recommend!! To get to some of the best hiking, a daily Going To The Sun Road pass for each day you want to hike is needed in addition to your park pass). We love to hike— So grateful they helped us.

Fabulous home located minutes from West Glacier entrance. Simple but extremely comfortable furnishings. They thought of everything and we greatly appreciated the bear spray, the coolers, the ice packs in the freezer, the washer and dryer. Kitchen was well stocked with anything you needed to cook. The website sounded like there was only starters of toilet paper, etc, so we brought some of our own, but unless you are staying more than a week, no need to bring your own. Great communication, even for simple questions. Great price! Don’t look any where else!

If I could give this a 6 star rating it would get it for location alone. Located right outside West Glacier Village and the park entrance, it is insanely convenient. There are two restaurants basically right off the drive within walking distance The house was also clean and comfortable. Also of note, there were several park-essential amenities included in the house, such as two camping chairs, ice chests, hiking poles, bear spray, and insect repellent.

We loved this as our home away from home for our family of 4 as we explored Glacier National Park. It was so clean and well kept. The beds were comfy and the home had everything we needed. Our kids loved the garage and the games and books and maps. Would 10/10 recommend to anyone going to GNP!!! Thanks to the wonderful hosts for such a great place!

This truly was our family's favorite vacation ever! Jeff and Kelly's property was incredibly comforting and relaxing, perfectly located, and had everything we could possibly need. We appreciated their local grocery recommendations. Even on rainy days, we had a great time playing a new game we discovered at their house – we might even buy it for our own home! Opening the sliding glass doors to enjoy the fresh air was a pleasure we cherished. Being able to walk to the conveniently located Glacier Highland restaurant down the street for numerous meals was ideal. Jeff & Kelly provided the provided bear spray…a huge relief and incredibly thoughtful – it saved us the cost and hassle of buying it ourselves, giving us peace of mind on all our hikes. Their communication throughout was excellent. Thank you, Jeff and Kelly, for a truly unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime getaway!

1 minute drive to the west GNP entrance. Overall, good rental property for the price/value and location. Owners excelled in initiating and replying to communications, and emailed us during our stay to see how we were enjoying their property while providing additional contact info if needed. Placards throughout the house were informative as was the owner's manual of household operations, which eliminated any head-scratching moments of how to operate something. Beds were comfortable and linens were clean; amenities were present throughout the house for guests to use, which was an unexpected and welcome benefit (bear spray, binoculars, folding outdoor chairs, flashlights, hiking poles, emergency water, etc.) Although the ceiling fans were a bit crusty with dust and scattered cobwebs needed to be evicted from the ceiling, it wasn't enough to downgrade a 5 star rating considering the value/price/location combination. Would we stay here again? Absolutely.

Our group of four 60+-year-old adults came to Glacier National Park to visit. We knew some of the park wasn't accessible, but we wanted to get away from the Texas heat. We were not disappointed. The area is beautiful - isolated, clean, and spacious. Our property is part of several other cabins in a group but we felt alone thanks to the wonderful trees and surroundings. Our cabin was a very nicely appointed home with all the modern amenities that made the stay very simple. There are plenty of stores close by for essentials, food, etc. One last thing, we were absolutely tickled by the friendliness and politeness of the service people we interacted with - from the airport to restaurants. It makes to glad to know manners are not dead in the US! If you've never been to Montana, GO! You will not regret it.

The property is a perfect location to the west entrance of the park and the trees that surround it despite having other homes next to it, offers privacy. Detailed instructions from the hosts address multiple scenarios including loss of power. We had high winds and lights flickering but the home was equipped for such occasions and the hosts checked in on us. The house has everything needed to be comfortable plus some extras! They were also very accommodating with some date shifts I requested. Would stay again!

Lovely house. Could not ask for a better location to be able to get into the park early. Stores and restaurants close by. The house was very clean and organized. The beds were very comfortable. We appreciated the coolers and bear spray that we could use. No cable TV, just streaming that we had difficulty getting to work but really did not miss watching TV. Would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

This cozy and well-equipped cabin made a perfect launching point for our five days in Glacier National Park. Several excellent restaurants and convenience stores are walking distance away. We also enjoyed walking to the nearby river. We were greeted by a mule deer within an hour of arrival, and we did see the local bear one night. The beds and pillows were comfy, lounge space were good for our tired legs after all-day hiking.
