Sandy Shores and Sunsets in your own back yard 4 bed 4 bath with pool and dockage

I would not suggest renting this house unless you plan to stay outside the entire time. The arrival to the house went well with the front door code that was given. However, the code to the key box, for the entry to the extra bedroom was not correct. We had to reach out to the management group. After a few hours, we finally had access. The side door would not lock or even shut and two days later, the maintenance group came and fix that. The grill was a complete fire hazard and unusable due to rust and utter collapse of the burners (NOT SAFE at all). In addition, the kitchen cabinets were literally falling apart, the countertops were filthy and covered with bugs all week, no matter how much cleaning we did. The house is in dire need of a refresh and the photos on the site completely misrepresent the status of he home. Other than the views, and the westward facing of the dock and pool, I would never suggest renting this VRBO.

The house could use some updates, kitchen especially. The furniture in the house all needs a deep clean as there were stains on the couch and the barstools. There was a leak in one of the bathrooms (which was fixed while we were there). Had to buy our own garbage bags, dishwasher soap, and paper towels. Pool was great and the location was great. Just disappointed in the condition of the house.

Overall met our needs. Some maintenance issues to be addressed and should be using recycling bin, but was told not to.

First, we couldn't find the lockbox to get the key. Then we couldnt reach anyone who knew where it was. We only found it by accident. After no warning and through no fault of the owner, the smell of the bay or whatever that brown stuff was piling up out back , we found we could not enjoy the outdoors. We had to wait for the wind to blow the right way, and then go out to the end of the dock to sit and to fish. The lounge chairs were useless, even if you could stand the smell, they were ancient and too heavy to move , and the ground they were on was dangerous to walk on. There's only 2 closets, but bring your own hangers. Wear water shoes in the bedroom thats separate from the house, because the floor is always wet and slippery. We have rented many houses in the keys through VRBO, and this is the first time we were extremely dissapointed and felt ripped off. I have never given a bad review before, but I feel people deserve to know the truth about what they are paying so much money for. I doubt this review will show up on the site, but it should. It's not just nit picking or I could have said alot more if it was. Like how it is dark and damp and old inside, and you can't open the doors and windows to air it out or you'll make it smell worse than it does already. My complaints are not just my opinions, but actual, honest faults and deficiencies of this house. I don't know if I would trust vrbo again after this bad experience.

The Management company was super responsive. Thoughtful touches, welcome gift basket with wine & snacks, things around the house for you to use before you get to the store….dishwasher liquid, hand soap, paper towels, detergent. Nice outside setup- table/chairs, pool, mini beach, grill & nice dock. We rented a boat for a couple days & had it at the dock. Inside was comfortable, and worked out nice for us, but kitchen especially could use some updating.Bedroom #1- one King bed w/ attached bathroom. Only bathroom that had a bathtub. Very small closet with room to hang a few items. Doors that opened to patio.Bedroom #2- Small room with one queen bed, Dresser & closet. Share hall bathroom.Bedroom #3- 1 King bed & one twin trundle bed ( twin on top, pull out twin underneath). Attached private bathroom. no closet space. There is a closet, but it is filled with extra items for the house (table leaves, booster seat, towels- no rod to hang and clothes).Bedroom #4- this room is only accessible by going outside. 2 double beds & private bath. No closet.Someone in a previous review stated that it was in the airport flight path, that’s true, but it’s the small local Marathon airport, we barely noticed. Laundry area is located in a closet/room outside of the house next to Room #4 - it is a tight fit, but do-able. I would definitely rather it be tight, than not have access to laundry facility. Management gets 5 stars for responsiveness before & during stay

We just had a great vacation here! 2 families, 4 kids ages 3-9. We rented a boat for 3 days and were able to keep it at the house. Loved the view! The beach area and pool was perfect for the little ones. The rock wall separating the ocean and the beach area turned out to be so much fun for the kids, who were finding tons of hermit crabs. Grocery options near by, short drive to restaurants and there will be beach chairs and pool/beach toys in the closet. Overall, the place was great, but definitely note that the bedroom with 2 queens does not have an interior connection to the main house. We had planned to put all kids together in that room, but had to readjust. Laundry is also detached from main home, was a little tricky, but worked :) We would definitely come back!

House was amazing. Great view, loved the shallow water lots of marine life you could snorkel, fish or just float. House could have been a little cleaner. Socks under the bed from previous occupants food under the couches. The house is amazing but needs a walk through by vacation company to do some TLC. Pool was nice but filter didn’t work. I asked about it but no response. Otherwise great! I would also recommend that the ground crew not come in the middle of the day while we were all laying out relaxing. We had to ask them to stop using the leaf blower.

Very nice 4b/4b place. One bedroom and barh (with2 double beds) has its own entrance. We were confused where us was at first . Good fishing dock. Location great in middle of marathon key. Lots of restaurants and grocery and shopping near by. VRBO a little worn but the size was great for us. Pool was super clear. It a little too cold to swim but we did dangle. Nice deck chairs to sit in and watch the boats and birds go by. We think we saw a turtle in the water. Large enough for 10 people at dinner table also. Bbq was an added plus. Lots of seasoning and salt and pepper in cabinet. Aluminum foil and a bunch of pots and pans available Laundry very awkward to use but is doable. A few fishing rods and pool noodles in laundry room. Overall nice place on water ?

Our family stayed here and it was wonderful ! The dock is great ! The kids fished the whole entire time we were there ! They snorkeled and swam ! The pool was perfect ! Everything was perfect ! Clean , nice and a big home ! Close to beaches (we were fine with the house and beach ) and it’s only 1 hour from key west ! Everything was not far and it’s quiet around there which is nice ! We had a blast ! Beds were very comfortable as well and we absolutely loved the big couch !!

House overall is nice, view & dock are great. Be aware, house is directly under the flight path to the airport. If you want quiet, this isn’t the place for you
