The Salty Anchor is absolute perfection! The house is exactly as pictured! The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could need and the selection of games, books, and beach activities just adds to the experience. The house is in an incredible location with immediate beach access. The 4x4 ride on the beach just adds to the charm. We saw horses every day either off our deck or a short walk on the beach. The sunrise was glorious and the sunsets breathtaking. We traveled with 3 families (6 adults and 6 kids over the age of 10) and we had more than enough space. There are ample bathrooms/showers and plenty of seating indoors/outdoors. We were never crowded on the beach it was lovely just walking out the door and over the dune to the beach. You won’t regret booking the Salty Anchor. We are already talking about visiting again!

We love this house. It is very clean and well kept. The kitchen is fully equipped, the beds are very comfortable, and the bathrooms are spotless. The owners are helpful and terrific communicators. The upstairs has an upstairs has an open floor plan for socialization when you have a group. The view of the ocean is gorgeous with beautiful sunrises. A great ocean front place.

Just as described!!! Views were incredible. Horses just outside the back deck! House was super clean and comfortable. Owners were super responsive!! The distance to the paved road was just perfect. Highly recommend!!

The decor was beautiful and so was the view! The most special thing about our vacation was seeing the horses! We took a tour to see the wild horses but then we saw them on our own several times. One time they came into the yard to graze. So magical!!

Beautiful home with a fully stocked kitchen and plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces to enjoy spending time with family! The view from every room was amazing! We loved walking through the neighborhood and seeing the wild horses - we saw them every day we were there.

The Salty Anchor was as advertised. Spectacular ocean views from the deck. The house had everything needed for a long stay and the beds were very comfortable. Lots of things to do in the house like playing pool, games and puzzles. The horses showed up 3 days when the weather was nice. First time driving on the 4x4 beach and that took a little getting use to but no issues. The owners were easy to contact and extremely responsive. We will defiantly be staying here again. All of the pictures of the horses were from the house deck.

Salty Anchor is a beautiful house, so well maintained and decorated tastefully. I was a little unprepared for the remoteness of Carova Beach, but the location provided a surprise element of adventure to our beach stay and my kids LOVED being right on the beach. The house had everything we needed and was really well-stocked. In fact, I'd say it was the most well equipped vacation house I've ever stayed in. Really sweet touches throughout (my kids loved the seashell decorating craft!) and the views from the deck are unbelievably beautiful.

This beach house was perfect for our family vacation! We had plenty of space for our group, and the home was well-appointed, comfortable, and a cool location on the 4wD beach. We loved staying at the salty anchor. Thank you so much!

This was our first time to Corolla Beach and driving on the beach. We didn’t know what to expect with airing down and finding the house! The directions were great and the photos were exactly how the house was! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook. There wasn’t soap in the bathrooms, but we did find the big bottle under the sink to fill them all. It was so nice having 4 bathrooms all with showers and a tub! The beds were all comfortable and the house provides lots of space for people to have privacy. The outside shower was great after spending time on the beach. The decks were awesome to sit each morning and night and look out at the ocean. We enjoyed sunrises and sunsets each night and absolutely loved the visits from the horses!! They came right up to the house!! They even brought the baby! The private circle driveway was nice too! (We couldn’t figure out how to get the game system to work downstairs for the kids and the one bedroom tv wouldn’t work either.)Great house, great stay!!!

The house was perfect for a quiet, relaxing vacation. We enjoyed opening the windows, listening to the ocean and letting the breeze come through the main living space on the third level. The drive up the beach to Corolla took only about 10 minutes so it was easy to get to restaurants, stores and other attractions.

Location was perfect, not too far down the beach and saw horses every day. Jo was very responsive and helpful. This was our first trip to OBX and we would love to come back

A beautiful, clean, well decorated home with impeccable views of paradise!!! The hosts are beyond kind and on top of everything! The only complaint - how fast time moves when you’re at peace. Book with confidence. We will 100% return and tell others! Thank you so very much!

This was the perfect vacation. The views of the sunrise and horses were amazing. We even spotted a foal. It was my daughter’s literal dream come true. You do need a 4x4 vehicle to get there, and I’d recommend timing your trips in and out with the tides. The host was incredible and responsive, and we had no issues at all with the property. The beds were incredibly comfy.

The property and owners were amazing! A wonderful home situated “off the grid” is exactly what our family needed to unwind a little and take in the wonderful views! Love the home and the location.. can’t wait to come back!

Although we visited during a storm which was outside everyone’s control the views from the home and the location were wonderful. And even though the roads were flooded even one block inland, we were completely unaffected due to location of this house. Fast and easy communication to property owners with any questions and even checked in on us to ensure we were all okay after the storm. Loved the pool table and all the beach toy options available even though we didn’t get much of a chance to use them. Would definitely recommend to others.
