Sail Away - Waterfront home with private beach on the lake, hot tub, & dock

This is our second time to stay in this Home. It is a beautiful place, well decorated, comfortable beds and a beautiful property. With the water being down right now at the lake we didn't get to enjoy the beach or the lagoon as we have in the past. . It is wonderful for children. The owner provides a lot of different items, such as a canoe, kayaks, a water pad and a paddle board. There is also a wonderful hot tub that the family always enjoys! There's a fire pit for enjoying s'mores a beautiful dock to sit on and a large deck to grill on eat on and just enjoy sitting on and looking over the lake. You can't go wrong with this home!

This home was so much better than anticipated. Situated on a quiet side of the lake, our kids really enjoyed everything about the lake and the huge dock that we spent so much time on. The home is well laid out and plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen was wonderful and well stocked to cook pretty much everything. The title of the home is a little misleading about having the largest private beach on the lake, as the beach was not maintained at all and overgrown with weeds and grass, and the neighbors have a much larger & nicer beach. Otherwise a wonderful home and vacation spot!

We loved the lake views, large dock, quiet section of the lake inlet, comfy furniture and pretty, well appointed kitchen which contained everything we needed to cook and prepare meals.

We’ve rented twice through Vacasa and couldn’t be more pleased with our experiences. We have always received prompt and professional responses when we’ve had questions. The properties were just as described and we had a wonderful time with our family.

The sand beach entry not usable, significant mouse presence and we had to clean up the doorways besides the front door to avoid walking into big webs and bugs. We would love to rent this house again if these problems were solved.

Came to SML for the fishing tournament. Whole family joined for the long weekend. The weather was gorgeous for late October. The house was perfect for us (there were 7 of us). Kitchen was very well appointed and we fixed all of our meals for the weekend! Hot tub was so relaxing at the end of the day! Would definitely stay at this house again!

My husband, our six children and myself thoroughly enjoyed our time at Smith Mountain Lake. The home was lovely. The older kids enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boards and floats while the younger ones enjoyed the sand and shallow area. It was exactly what we needed for a little family down time.

This house was beautiful and very clean!! The kitchen was incredibly well stocked. We found everything we needed for our meals at the house. Even the knives were sharp (which is never the case in rentals!). The view was gorgeous. A perfect lake vacation. Will definitely come back.

Property is quite excellent and the house has everything you would want and more it is a bit remote to get to any food stores etc but smith mountain area is not overly populated which makes it extra nice to try to get away from the hustle and grind of DC. Overall very nice house but unfortunately the next door neighbor would camp her 3 small dogs on her back deck and they would bark incessantly at any movement in our yard so trying to enjoy the yard or the dock at sail away was less then relaxing or tolerable for that matter. I politely went over and spoke with the neighbor after day 2 and she did bring them in for a couple of days but then they were back out at the end of the week. Although we loved the house we won’t be going back for that reason. I also called vacasa to see what they could do and they said they can’t do anything unless it’s after hours, shame spending so much money on this house and being stuck inside
