-Additional rules-

In order to keep Sage Haven a safe and enjoyable place to stay, we are obligated to supply our guests with a set of rules which we kindly ask you to read and agree to. These set of rules are required for our insurance and your safety.

1) No parties, events, or third party bookings. Person making the reservation must be at least 21 years of age.

2) Only the number of guests indicated on the reservation are allowed to be on the premises (maximum of 6 overnight). If any additional people are seen on the property that were not included in the reservation, you will be charged an additional $100 per person.

3) The number of vehicles on the premises at any time must not exceed 2. Please park in the driveway and not on the dirt.

4) No smoking inside the house or near the entrances and no tampering with the smoke detectors. If the cleaners notify us of smoke smell you will be charged a minimum $350.

5) Open fires are NOT permitted on the premises besides the small propane fire pit in the backyard. Winds can pick up quickly and pose a high risk of spreading fire. Please be conscious of using the fire pit and do not use if no one is present outside.

6) The property has a two Ring security camera actively recording the property. One is located on the exterior of the front door and the other on the exterior garage. This is required for our insurance and your safety. Obscuring, moving or altering the security camera is prohibited. There are no cameras on the inside of the house. Additionally, there is an active noise monitoring device called Minut located inside the house as recommended by our insurance to monitor temperature, mold risk, sound decibels in case a fire alarm goes off, etc. Minut is camera free. It measures sound levels without recording or listening. This device doesn't store, collect, or share personal data so you can relax in privacy. It is a white circular device located on the ceiling. If you would like more information about this device please contact the host or visit the Minut website

7) Please be considerate of our neighbors while socializing outdoors. Quiet hours are from 10:00pm to 7:00am. Music and voices carry easily in the desert.

8) Damage to our home or contents will incur costs to guests. Please notify the host immediately if anything is broken.

9) Please remove your shoes when you enter the house. Please do not step on rugs with your shoes. Thorns and burrs are rampant in the desert and have a tendency of getting stuck.

10) One person per hammock. Children must not be left unattended.

11) Check out is 11am. A $50 charge will incur for every hour after 11am if not checked out.

12) One person per hammock. Each hammock has a 200lb limit. Each room has a small black A/C monitor on the wall. Please don’t unplug.

My wife is a germaphobe and usually finds herself cleaning upon arrival to a stay and wearing her own slippers around the house. Naturally, the house rules saying “No shoes” triggered her and she felt uncomfortable with her bare feet on the floor, but she is a rule follower and obliged. She was thrilled to see how clean the floors were and just everything which immediately put her at ease. She couldn’t stop raving about the cleanliness and how adorable the space was. Needless to say, it was a great stay and it made my wife happy which of course made me happy, too! We both loved it and loved the proximity to the park as well.

The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, including knives for chopping vegetables. The property was clean and comfortable, and the telescope for star-gazing was a thoughtful touch. The host was helpful and communicative and check-in and -out were easy. The property was a great size for a family, convenient to the main part of town and the national park, and had everything we needed. Highly recommended!

Everything was so clean! The place was so relaxing. A great home away from home. Stargazing was extra beautiful in the yard. Kitchen was stocked with lots of stuff we needed. Wonderful stay. Can't wait to come back again!

It’s an adorable house, furnished very tastefully obviously by a creative. Johnny is a photographer and his awesome photos of Joshua tree park landscape are strewn all over the house. The house was very clean with all the amenities that we a family of 3, would need. We used the kettle to make tea in the mornings. We stayed for 2 nights but did not get a chance to enjoy the beautiful backyard. It’s also conveniently located close to awesome breakfast and dinner restaurants and less than 15 minutes from western entrance. The 2 bedroom house was just perfect for us.

The property is in a great location, super clean (and I am very picky), and Johnny was incredibly nice, accommodating and responsive. The house is so cute and I would highly recommend staying at this property.

We spent 3 nights here while exploring Joshua Tree National Park. The home was spotless (and we are fussy about cleanliness!) with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable bed. The neighborhood is extremely quiet. It's a great location for visiting the park. The owners have a list of restaurants and things to do - which did not disappoint. Super helpful for first time visitors to the area. Highly recommend this property and would stay again!
