We had a great trip to the area to explore several historical sites. The rustic lodge was a great base of operations for us. We enjoyed the comfort and the quiet of the house.
The property was clean and well maintained. Minor issue at the start of the stay and the property owner was very responsive and all issues were resolved. The house was very comfortable with lots of sleeping arrangements and amenities. The kitchen had everything we needed for some cookouts and wood provided for camp fires. We found lots of great roads for cycling and would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.
Our family really enjoyed staying in this comfortable house in the country between Gettysburg and Camp David, which is a pretty area along the PA/MD border.
We stayed with our children and wanted a house out of the city and where we could have bonfires. We got what we wanted. The cabin was very nice, everything we wanted was provided! Lou was very accommodating and helpful. Plenty of space for relaxing and a yard to enjoy. We would go back again. We had a wonderful time
Enjoyable stay and we were able to reach all our desired destinations within an hour which included Antietam and Harpers Ferry.
Very nice house. With plenty of room. Close to everything we needed. I would recommend the house.
Nice, not too expensive. Lots of bugs inside, but other than that - fine place.
Met our needs perfectly. Love the bunkhouse on the bottom floor.
Great place to stay!
We had a really nice visit in a great neighborhood. Close to Gettysburg and the cabin was perfect.
WE HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE, VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE WITH VRBO
We really enjoyed our week staying at this house, which was constructed to look inside like an older, rustic country home or lodge. It was very comfortable and well-equipped, and we really liked its character. There's also a large yard and lawn area for kids to play in, and they liked seeing some horses on neighboring properties. Close to Gettysburg, Cunningham Falls State Park (good for swimming in a lake), animal attractions like The Land of Little Horses and the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve, covered bridges, Liberty Mountain ski area and resort, the small-town charm of Fairfield, remote hiking trails in the woods, lots of scenic country roads, etc. This was our second year staying there, and our kids want to know when they can go again.
Nice and quiet location. Short drive to Gettysburg.
the owners of this property could not have been more helpful with anything we needed. the house was clean and comfortable. we had a great time. would book again. thanks
This was a lovely weekend getaway. It sits on top of a mountain and the views were fabulous. It is basically a hunting cabin. It has kind of outdated decor if you care about that, but general cleanliness/comfort. Great fire pit in backyard, lots of room to run, comfy living room, nice deck to eat outside. Basement (3 bed) lodge room was a little creepy for one of my kids, (very old furniture/pictures/rusty tin ceiling) but there was an extra bed upstairs in the living room that he could use, so it worked out. If you are looking for pristine cleanliness/modern vibe, this might not be for you. However, we enjoyed it and had a wonderful weekend visiting nearby Gettysburg and National Shrine of St Elizabeth Ann Seton in Emmitsburg. We would definitely go back!
It's so nice to stay at a place that doesn't make you bring your whole house with you in vacation lol. They had all the towels, linens, bathroom, kitchen, cleaning etc items. They asked for minimal cleanup for checking out as well. It wasn't too far from food, stores or Gettysburg where we spent Saturday on a food tour. Great trip!!!!
We enjoyed our long weekend at the lodge. We only made breakfast there, and found the kitchen well stocked to do so. There was plenty of space for our family of six to spread out and be comfortable. Easy drive into Gettysburg. Thank you!
