Please note that although our lovely house can accommodate many more, we prefer to rent to no more than 3 couples at a time.
Please note: Our home is not suitable for small children due to safety concerns.
Enjoyed ourselves very much. Dale was very helpful with suggestions for the area.
Great, spacious place, very clean and cool in the hot summer. We loved it.
My family and I had a fabulous week in Maine! The house was located is a perfect location for day trips to journey through the coastal areas of Maine. The house was just as described and so well stocked! The property was located on a stream which was absolutely beautiful with the fall foliage. We loved sitting on the deck in the evenings around the fire pit enjoying the scenery and listening to the ducks! We also enjoyed being able to walk around Rockport! The hosts gave many wonderful suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. They were able to answer any questions. This was a great location for our Maine adventure!
Truly one of the most comfortable places we've stayed in. Big comfy sofas and chairs to relax in, and the bed in the master bedroom was very nice. Loved the deck and access to the stream below the house. The owners are helpful and responsive. We'll be back!
Absolutely loved it ! Was perfect for us and adult children for our family vacation! Centrally located for all the places we wanted to go and easy access to and from it ! Owner was very available for questions prior to the trip and while we were there. Thank you for sharing your home!!
What a nice getaway. We were looking for a change of scenery for a working vacation, and Mary Ann & Dale's place was perfect! So spacious, both my husband and I could spend the day in our own areas and not feel like we were crowding each other. Internet connection was fantastic, plenty of space to lounge around in the evenings. And when we were able to escape for walks and exploring, the scenery was wonderful! Rockport is such a cute area, with some nice walks along the water. We spent a good amount of time in Camden, getting coffee and Zoot's and exploring the town. Camden Hills State Park is a must visit - even if you're not interested in hiking, a quick drive to the top of Mt. Battie is beyond worth the view. We'd definitely return again!
A beautiful multi-level home. Extremely private and peaceful. Especially perfect if you need quiet time to do any work. Plenty of spaces to choose where to work. The house is equipped with pretty much anything you would need. We stayed a month, stocking up the pantry and very large freezer & refrigerator. The house has a few outdoor spaces to eat as well as indoor. The house is situated towards the back the road and the front is really in the rear. A large lawn slopes down towards the Goose River which empties into the Harbor just a short walk away. The house affords the illusion that you are isolated but, in reality, a right turn brings you into a small, charming fishing village and a left turn a few away minutes from more commercial offerings including a large supermarket and the town of Camden. There were just the two of us so we had plenty of space. However the house could certainly accommodate a large family including older adolescents or teens who could have their own level, bedrooms, bathroom and a family room. We there from mid-August through mid-September and it was busy with tourists, though I suspect this year was not an ordinary one and tourism, in general, was down. However, these visitors were well-behaved, wore masks and kept appropriate distances. It was impressive to see compared to other places we have been this summer where visitors flagrantly disregard local mask mandates. We did not eat out in restaurants -- indoors or outdoors. The outdoor restaurants were limited in their ability to accommodate many so the waiting times were rather long and reservations were not being taken. However, we did order some dinners for curbside pickup from a number of extremely fine restaurants including an extraordinary one called The Hartstone Inn. Nonetheless, we were quite content to make lunch at home and then take it to a number of outdoor locations to sit and enjoy the stunning scenery. There is no shortage of that in the area. And just around a bend in the road is a seafood market with the most accommodating and lovely staff, fresh fish and prepared foods. The owners are affable and easy to communicate with.
I stayed at this property with my family - two of us are in our twenties and our parents are in their fifties. Dale and Mary Ann's home is lovely. A great home in a beautiful setting as well. Walking distance to the Rockport waterfront and a short drive to Rockland and Camden as well. The home itself is well furnished, well-decorated and well stocked in ktichen and bathroom supplies, as well as a books! The hosts are very communicative and helpful as well. I would definitely recommend staying here!
Mary Ann and Dale's Rockport home is exactly as described - my husband, sister-in-law, and I spent a week there 'working from home' and we were pleasantly surprised by how well the wifi supported 3 concurrent video calls. The home has plenty of space to spread-out, and we delighted in taking advantage of the porches for outside work and relaxing. The whole house was well appointed and had everything that we needed. We were able to walk to pick up carry-out food and fresh lobster. We also enjoyed walking all the way up to Camden. Acadia is an easy day-trip as well. Dale and Mary Ann were quickly responsive and gracious hosts. We would happily stay again.
This is a beautiful property and we felt so at home. It is furnished and decorated not like a kitschy rental but a beautiful coastal home. There are endless places to sit and relax inside and out. The little gem is the river/brook at the back of the property—bring your camping hammock and attach it to two trees, and read or nap right near the babbling water. The owners were communicative and helpful. Our family was so happy on our weeklong getaway. The description and photos are accurate. A truly beautiful, special place.
