One outside fire pit, one gas fireplace downstairs, gas fire pit on deck, electric fire in common area upstairs. Enjoy relaxing views of the most amazing sunsets on a beautiful mahogany wood wraparound patio. Epic interior design, remodeled and luxury brand new furniture. Private lake access for water activities.
Stayed the long Labor Day weekend with extended family (four adults, two pre-teens) and had a great time. Lots of space, many amenities, and the location can't be beat. One family member took his kayak out fishing every day. The location is also easily accessible to Lancaster and areas of interest around it. Highly recommended.
This property is amazing, from the lovely view of the Susquehanna River to the well appointed home. Clearly the owners care about their home. Furniture, decorations, resources available to the renter - every detail has been considered. We loved our stay and we were sorry to leave. Bravo! Well done!
There was only 3 of us so we stayed on upper level It was absolutely beautiful inside and very comfortable and very clean. The outlook from the deck was peaceful as it gave a perfect view of the water. We have stayed at many Vrbos and this one was by far the best.
This was the perfect location for our family to gather for my mother-in-law's memorial service. It was a peaceful oasis that offered space for my husband & son to fish, my daughter to jog, and the family to gather on the porch overlooking the Susquehanna in the evenings to reminisce, laugh, cry and even see an eagle land in the tree right in front of us! The property is clean, spacious, light and inviting. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. We'll be back if we are ever in the area again!
House was very clean and nicely appointed. A bit different that there was separate outside entrance to each level, but we made due just fine with that. Beds were very comfortable. Great deck with a beautiful view in a quiet area. And the host was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Would certainly recommend!
6 friends all enjoyed the house- comfortable, scenic and relaxing!
We were able to relax with conversation on the deck while watching the sunset on the river. The next day followed by a visit to a street festival in a nearby town. We made it back in time for some relaxation in the hot tub before the storm rolled in when we then played games, danced to music from the record player and settled in for a movie on large, clear tv! The house was beautiful and had everything we needed! I would certainly stay there again!
We loved the view of the river, fireplaces, decor, and kitchen supplies. We enjoyed hiking in the area during the day. I highly recommend this home. You might even get to see and hear a loon:)
The house was absolutely beautiful. There is a gorgeous deck that runs the length of house where you can just sit and enjoy the river. So very relaxing! The downstairs is not accessible though the inside of the house. There is a separate entrance. This actually was a perfect set up for our adult son and his friend. The host was responsive. We had a wonderful relaxing week at this beautiful house. We will visit again.
My family including our dog child :) had a great and relaxing stay. The owner is very responsive and helpful. The views are remarkable and we really enjoyed getting to be back with nature and disconnect for a bit. We were just a short trip from many activities for the family making this a great place to make your families headquarters for that long weekend or longer. Thank you for a great time.
We enjoyed a relaxing week away at this nice property. We loved the river and spent a ton of time down there. A great location. Only drawbacks. Upstairs and downstairs are separate entrances. Also tons of spiders and white bugs at night on the porch made it tough outside in the evening. But it was August and it was hot. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
We chose this property for the amount of space it had, it’s location away from the “riff raff,” and it’s general proximity to Hershey Park, Gettysburg, and Philadelphia. We got more space than we bargained for and an absolutely AMAZING view. The property was very quiet as well. Inside the property was clean, very well decorated, modernized with TVs in every room, and fully supplied kitchen. Every property has its quirks or disadvantages. If that is why you are reading the reviews (why I usually read the reviews) I can tell you the downstairs and upstairs do not connect inside. We had teenagers who stayed downstairs but I would not recommend any aged child that is not 100% self sufficient in the “downstairs.” Stairs are required to enter downstairs, step tops are made of gravel, and there is not handrails. Anyone with any disability, any joint issues, any fall risk at all, should not plan on using the downstairs. The stairs that go upstairs do have rails, spot lights, and warning strips to let you know the stairs are steep. Once you make it to the top, it’s worth it for the views. When we visited the dryer rotated the clothes, but it would not dry them. We tried 3 cycles, we reduced the size of the load, but it wouldn’t dry. The property owner was very responsive to any issues we came across. The downstairs TV remote was missing. They immediately ordered us a new remote and had it shipped… with batteries. Over all, this was a good property with a good host.
We had a blast at the house on the river. Beautiful sunsets every night! Close the theme parks and very clean! Only note I have is we had two toddlers with us and thought this was a 4 bedroom and they would have had their on rooms. Wish we new about it before booking. We made things work but it’s not a real four bedroom unit.
This River View lodge had fantastic views of the Susquehanna River. The property was newly remodeled and clean. The owner was very responsive. She made us feel welcome. My family had a great time exploring the sites nearby in Gettysburg and Lancaster. We also tried several local restaurants recommended by the neighbors. The entire experience was just what we were looking for.
