The house has comfortable sheets and towels to make your stay pleasant.
Loved the look and feel of the 'old farm house' and all of the room there was for the 7 of us. The landscape and lawn needed a lot of work. Weeds were 3 foot high in landscape beds and grass needed to mowed. Some of the mattresses need to be replaced they were sagging and uncomfortable to sleep in. There was a fire pit pictured on one of the patios and it was not there and you could not even get out the door to that patio because the area was so overgrown. Driving in the driveway trees and bushes were so overgrown that they brushed on the sides and top of the vehicle. The kitchen was well equipped with dishes, pans, crock pot, etc. Loved the covered back porch with the ceiling fans and table & chairs. The house was located in a quiet area.
We had a great time. It was a great central location for our many day trips around the area. We traveled to Philadelphia, Hershey, Lancaster, Gettysburg, and Harrisburg.
Hard to find house since no signs on Freysville Rd. other than neighbors 282 address. Outside landscape was unkept. Various potential hazards in house and back porch. Size was perfect, but need more furniture in family room. A little sprucing would make a really big difference. No water in cooler. Should remove items not usable, stove in dining room,, broken chair, water cooler.
Overall we enjoyed being there after first appearances. Had a family reunion on a day that it poured all day but there was plenty of room for everyone inside the house and on the covered back porch. The outside of the property is very over grown. Grass was not cut. I’m a gardener and was very disappointed in the outside appearance of the bushes and flowers that were very overgrown and full of weeds. . A lot of deferred maintenance. It made us very nervous of what we would find inside. The inside was very large and really historic looking. The beds were comfortable. The Kitchen is nice and fairly up to date. The kitchen was well supplied except for the very small 2 slice toaster. Which made breakfast a little challenging with a big group. The bathrooms could use an update but were functional. They really need a sectional in the living room to accommodate a family. The one and only TV is in the living room. The antique sofas are not really too comfortable. With all that said, we did enjoy ourselves and the inside of the house worked for us.
This is a lovely old farmhouse with everything we needed to enjoy hanging out, cooking, and playing board games together. Close enough to Hershey and Lake Clarke for very enjoyable day trips. Most, but not all, of the beds were comfortable. The owners were very friendly and responsive.
Peaceful well equipped home , fantastic trip. Thanks
We rented this house for a week, amazing house.
We stayed at the property for Thanksgiving. We have teenage children and they really enjoyed the pool table. There was plenty of room for the 8 of us! We enjoyed our stay and explored the property a bit on walks. Beautiful views out of every window. This is a historic home so when you walk in you will be greeted with the smells of a real wood fireplace. It is strong at first but we all quickly got used to by the next day. This house has 6 bedrooms. It is filled with vintage furniture which is fitting with the home but we did wish the TV room had couches that were a bit more comfortable for night time TV viewing with the family. All of the beds were comfy except for the bedroom over the garage. My Sister & BIL had put several comforters down in an effort to help but no such luck. Also there were a few extra appliances that were not hooked up in random rooms. Like a fridge on its side in the room over the garage & a stove with a blanket over it in the dinning room. Although a bit odd it did not take away from our overall experience. We wanted a Vintage Farmhouse and that is exactly what we got! Communication with the owner was spot on and she responded quickly to all of my correspondences. My nephew is a little historian and LOVED the house and was asking when we could return again? We had a lovely Thanksgiving despite being in the middle of a Pandemic. Would recommend staying here for large family gatherings.
This was a great base for us. We enjoyed shooting pool, croquet on the huge lawn, and putting puzzles together.
There are plenty of rooms to fit your whole family - and then some! The side yard was nice for the kids to run around in, and the two dining tables were nice to use to both eat and play some board games.
