Everything was exactly as listed, and we were very happy with our stay. Even had the bonus of petting George and Fred, the two horses pulling the holiday carriage!
The only complaint we have is that the private residence on the property was a bit loud. We could hear them coming and going and in the mornings as well.
Unit was super clean, coffee was excellent, snacks were great, parks were close, the home was stocked with everything the fresh eggs were delicious. We plan to visit again. Even the weather was great. Many thanks to our hosts.
We love Gettysburg and stay in a different place each visit, just to see how the experience changes. This apartment was ideally located - close to downtown, but quiet and peaceful. It was the perfect size for two and we had everything we needed. I kid you not, I considered making my Christmas cookie dough in the kitchen! It was that well supplied! The owners were responsive. Just a great visit. We will be there again!
We absolutely loved our stay in Gettysburg and this location was the perfect place to rest our heads. Amazing location within waking distance to everything. Comfortable and extensive amenities! I loved learning the history too with the displays around the house.
It was everything we had hoped it to be.
I attended Mid-Appalachian Quilt classes at Gettysburg College, my Husband spent his free time walking and sightseeing! The Stratten House was everything it was written up to be, and more! Very close to great shops, landmarks, and all that Gettysbrug has to offer. Comfy love seat motorized to lay back, relax, put your feet up, and watch old movies after a long day! The hosts were wonderful, and left lots of niceties and goodies we could snack on. We'll leave out the details so you'll be surprised when you stay. Highly recommended. We will stay again!
We would have greatly appreciated if cooking oil and a few spices would be available. They did provide fresh egg, but without the additional cooking amenities we could not take advantage.
Our space was perfect for 2. We could walk anywhere in town in 10 minutes. The National Cemetery and the Monuments were a 5 minute drive. The tours was fascinating. The history of this small town was over the top. If you like history Gettysburg is full of interesting stories. We would stay here and visit Gettysburg again for sure. We did drive to Philadelphia one day and that was not fun at all.
Great location to tour the battlefield. Walking distance to all points in the downtown area. Culp's Hill is in sight from the back porch. Very comfortable with the electric fireplace. Excellent place from which to enjoy Gettysburg.
Very convenient location to Main street, shops and restaurants. The home was very clean and comfortable.
Right in the heart of the town.
This VRBO is conveniently located and loaded with curb appeal. Inside, the rooms are spacious and nicely furnished. Everything was clean and the kitchen was well equipped. Controlling the heat was a challenge. Check with the owner to insure a comfortable stay.
It was fabulous. Cozy, comfortable, and relaxing. Would rent again when coming to Gettysburg. If you could provide cream for the coffee that would be great.
Our stay was great. The apartment was the perfect size for a couple. Kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, mixer, toaster etc... Bathroom had all toiletries you could need. Place was clean and quiet. 1 block from the Main Street and easily walkable to many restaurants and stores. Owners were very responsive when communicated to. They even left us a few goodies including their own blend of coffee beans ! If we ever go back to Gettysburg we would definitely stay here!
Excellent experience!!
Everything about the place, and the owners, was top notch. We had a breaker trip - they contacted me within five minutes to fix it. They shared stories about the place. The place itself had so many great little touches. It was perfectly located. Five minute walk from the square and the battlefield… just depended on which direction you wanted to walk. You won’t regret staying here. So lucky to have found it. Bob
Clean, beautiful, great location Host were easy to communicate with They added many personal details and touches that made the stay wonderful.
My wife and I spent three nights in this cozy one bedroom “apartment” in an historic house. It was easy to find and located on a quiet street within walking distance of things to do and places to eat. Lisa and Paul provided many amenities such as their own roasted coffee beans, a bottle of wine, eggs in the refrigerator, books on Gettysburg’s history, and games, and puzzles. We would stay here again, definitely.
