Retreat in the trees on a beautiful trailhead. Ideal for a family near Berkeley.

We booked the retreat in the trees for a girl weekend and LOVED our stay. Our hosts were thoughtful and accessible and the home was beautiful, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed. We enjoyed hiking, relaxing on the deck and going into the village for coffee and dinner. We’ll be back again!! Thank you!

Wonderful vacation property! After some busy sight-seeing, it was a relaxing home base to come back to at the end of the day. The deck was lovely and the perfect spot to unwind with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. The neighborhood is quiet and tucked away, but still close to everything you need to experience the Bay Area. Sunset trail is just across the street where you can catch a gorgeous view of the city and walk through redwood groves. The hosts were friendly, very easy to communicate with and provided everything we needed. We would definitely recommend!

Overall the best rental we've stayed in worldwide; gorgeous setting, spacious and comfortable interior, convenient location and phenomenal hosts. I'd recommend to anyone!

We had an amazing stay, the back deck views are incredible, hosts are always available but also the place is very private. Perfect stay and the hosts really made us feel at home.

John and Jill's home was the perfect place for us to stay with our 2 Welsh Terriers. The space was fantastic with a lovely yard and thoughtful amenities throughout the house. The hosts were super friendly and helpful, we can't wait to come back.

I gathered several colleagues here for a weekend retreat. It was the perfect spot for some creative thinking and bonding and we took full advantage of the nearby trails. John is super accommodating and attentive to specific needs. Overall a very successful experience.

Property was beautiful and cozy! The host John was very kind and helpful! Met us the night we arrived and gave a quick tour and literally thought of everything, from toiletries, grill, coffee and just about everything you need. They also have two dogs that share the yard and were the sweetest! If we make the trip back we will definitely try and stay again.

This is a great spot for R&R with a hiking trail head right next door to the property and the trails lead to some spectacular views of the bay. The property itself was immaculate- the owner seemed to have thought of everything we would ever need and more! The living space was airy and ever so comfortable with a lovely patio overlooking a beautifully terraced backyard. Will definitely return!
