Designer Rockridge Retreat Near UC Berkeley

This delightful house is in one of the most walkable neighborhoods in Oakland. I lived in the neighborhood for 30 years, so I know. Every detail about the house was thought out, including the heated toilet. I rented this for family coming from Italy. My 87 yo cousin and his daughter. They loved it. The house is off College Ave, a main shopping/eating street in Oakland. Market Hall with all the food and wine shops is just blocks away. Trader Joe’s is just on the other side of the BART station. So many restaurants and coffee shops. This the best part of Oakland.

Once again, a wonderful stay at this home. The house is very comfortable, the location is fantastic, and the owners are very responsive. Would return again.

Location was great. Make sure to ask for futons, they are not ready to use. Communication was a bit slow. House was beautiful.

Fabulous property! Very nicely remodeled, furnished, and decorated, with absolutely everything we needed including well-equipped kitchen. Everything in very good shape and as shown on photos. Terrific location, very walkable and close to shops and restaurants. Loved our stay!

We loved the house in the middle of Rockridge

Great location near all the restaurants, cafes, bars, and shopping on College Ave. Very clean, comfortable, and well appointed home. Friendly and responsive hosts. We’d definitely stay there again in the future.

It was just right. Not too large. Not too small. Terrific kitchen in which to cook. Great living room for evening hang out and the location was just right for those of us who love to walk for really fresh food, well-curated books, clothing (new and vintage), records and restaurants. Couldn’t ask for more. It was just right.

The house had nice finishes and is in a good location. However, the owner lives onsite in an ADU behind the main house (which I didn't see published). For how much is charged, I want a private property not semi-private. Additionally, the bed in the primary has an old mattress where my wife and I sunk to the middle. It's a nice place just too expensive for what you get.

The property was in great shape and location was in easy walking distance to many restaurants and shops. The house was well designed with modern, stylish finishes. It was the perfect size for our family of 5. Zak is a great host.

As previous Oakland residents, we were hoping the vibrant village vibe of the Rockridge neighborhood still existed. It didn’t disappoint; all within walking distance of this nicely renovated craftsman. The home is clean, well equipped and employs many smart home features. Communication with the host was always cordial, prompt and efficient. Getting in and out of the driveway is a tight squeeze (leave the Escalade at home), but, didn’t diminish our enjoyment.

Convenient to restaurants, shopping and BART (as well as our granddaughter). The kitchen is fully equipped and great for a family meal if you don’t want to go out, although with all the great places to eat nearby there’s no need to cook. Highly recommended

This is about the nearest thing to a perfect VRBO as we've seen. Instant access to BART and SF. Mindblowing array of restaurants on College Ave. Smart house with modern fixtures / heat / lighting with sensible furnishings. Very accommodating host. Great communication.

Great place, awesome neighborhood!.

The listing said parking available in the driveway. There was NO safe parking in the driveway. Street parking was restricted. We found that out after our arrival. The house was modern and well equipped. The listing said there was a pool - no pool. The listing said there was an elevator- no elevator. The listing said there was a desk and a desk chair, it had neither.

Place is located in super convenient area, within walking minutes from some of the best restaurants in town and a few grocery stores. We all know what Oakland is infamous for, there is private parking but you will need a small car to squeeze in. Otherwise, host was very friendly and accommodating to our schedule after we arrived. All in all, wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

This is the single nicest house I have ever rented. The house is modest but elegant and it is so very clean!

This was our best experience staying at a VRBO. The cleanliness of the house was top notch, the location was amazing, and the host was helpful and responsive. We will definitely be staying again if we get the opportunity.

Very well maintained property and very responsive host

We had a wonderful stay. The house looks historic but feels quite new and beautifully designed inside. The kitchen was a pleasure to cook in, and the view out the windows of the primary bedroom was a delight to wake up to. College Ave is a pleasant commercial street just steps away, making it very easy to integrate right into the life of the neighborhood. (There was a little night noise from a bar on a Friday, but not bad.) Off-street parking, good internet connection, and a friendly and responsive host. We'll look here first the next time we're in the area!

The house is in great condition - new construction and very clean. Easy communication with the owner, and in great neighborhood. A great experience overall.
