Stayed Jul 21, 2025The location, home and property was lovely! Great views for morning coffee and evenings. The beds were comfortable and we had a relaxing stay. We also really enjoyed sitting on the rocks by the lake and watching the sunrise. On the downside check in was a challenge as the management co required a separate registration and then texted they were canceling our stay. I called and they corrected this. The kitchen was not cleaned. There were crumbs, old lunch meat on the counter and dirty dishes when we checked in. The floors also were not swept throughout the house under furniture. There was trash in the outside garbage bins from a prior guest that animals had torn into and spread about.

Stayed Sep 28, 2024The steps were terrible and should be replaced IMMEDIATELY!!! Better cleaning,we found dirty china, glasses and silverware put away DIRTY!!! The dust mop needs to be used under the furniture including in the bedrooms. The floor board/mop boards need to be washed. Otherwise it was great!!!

Stayed Sep 19, 2024Loved the house and seclusion. Not a bad drive to grocery stores or restaurants. Good seafood stores near by. Only negative I had was property management was no help the two times I contracted them . All in all I would stay again.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969One of the better appointed places we have ever rented. Quiet location is superb. The home was a bright dream and the deck is extensive. We enjoyed several kayak paddles from the home and walks at nearby land trust properties. We loved learning of the property's connection with P.D. Eastman. Unfortunately there is a significant browntail moth infestation which causes itchy rashes over the deck area in the oaks that needs to be mitigated or disclosed.

Stayed Sep 5, 2023PROS: We spent eight nights in this modern up-to-date home. After a couple of fits and starts regarding check-in everything went smoothly. The location, while slightly remote, is still only a 15 minute trip to Damariscotta where you will find plenty of restaurants, shopping and even a theater. The large deck and water views were a plus. Happy to see that a railing had been added to the stairway leading to the main bedroom. CONS: Climate change has made the old adage that you don't need A/C in Maine obsolete. The portable A/C provided was sufficient for the upstairs bedroom but overmatched when cooling the rest of the house. Granted we arrived during a heat wave but a house as lovely as this deserves central air.

Stayed Aug 20, 2023We really enjoyed staying here. The home was comfortable and had everything we needed. It was a great place to call home base as we experienced Maine for the first time.
