Have spent many fall seasons at Acadia, but this accommodation was one of the best. The view was unparalleled, and when you’re stuck for a week due to Covid, the view is even more important! Our hosts were very responsive anytime we had a question. We had a power outage while on the island, and before we woke up, we had the necessary items to get us through that power outage. The cottage is outfitted very well, the kitchen has anything and everything you can need. Plenty of bathrooms, beautiful deck, and the surroundings were lovely. We will stay there again on our next visit! Thank you, Elean and family.
The property was as advertised. It is in a wonderful location, close to Acadia and Bar Harbor but far enough that it's fairly quiet. The house itself was in immaculate condition. It was nice to sit outside and look at fishing boats or the deer that wandered into the yard each night and morning.
My wife and l had a wonderful week here in this beautiful spot on the western side of Bass Harbor, where the sunsets are gorgeous and the kayaking couldn’t be better. Elean, the host is terrific. She went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable.
Property was clean and well equipped. Location is excellent with great sunsets. Owner was very attentive. We hope to be able to return someday, it was a very enjoyable vacation.
Everything was fine!
Bottom line - we loved it! Everything was comfy and clean. We loved waking up and having coffee on the deck overlooking the water. The property is on the quieter side of MDI, but there was still so much to do! Ample supplies in the kitchen, but no dishwasher. We ate out a lot so we didnt have to wash too many dishes. At high tide we jumped off the wharf with our kids and had so much fun! Overall 5*!
This was just right for us. Quiet Side location on the water was so serene and relaxing. Enjoyed all the amenities, especially fire pit and roasting marshmallows in the evenings. Got some of the best sleep in ages - very quiet at night. Stones throw from SW Harbor and all there is to feast on there. Really appreciated being able to easily access Bar Harbor without having to be in the thick of it and related crowds. Hope to return soon.
Everything stated online is exactly what you get! The home itself is solidly built, energy efficient, comfortable and well planned for two couples at least to share the home. The separation by having living quarters downstairs and upstairs with both parties easily meeting in the dining room or tv lounge was excellent for privacy. Elena answered our questions and was never obtrusive. Scenery was beautiful. Ease to get to stores, restaurants and hikes were a plus. Great way to wind down and relax.
Thank you for a wonderful stay! We very much enjoyed sitting on the back deck watching the sunset and observing the tide throughout the day. We even found a bird app to try and identify the numerous breeds that could be seen in and around the water. The cabin was lovely, comfortable and clean, and we would highly recommend it to others!
Nothing even close to the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor here. Quiet. Serene. Lovely. Enjoyed the house. Layout a little different, but that was okay. Had everything we needed to cook. It was located near Bass Harbor, which is a little tricky to find at night in the middle of a rainstorm. If you stay here you have to eat at Thurstons across the bay. BEST SEAFOOD EVER!!!! It was a great place to stay.
We had a wonderful week staying at Elean’s property. The cottage is nice and clean and the sunset view from backyard/deck was so beautiful. Great communication from Elean, prompt response to our questions. We got live lobsters from Elena’s family lobster boat and had a best lobster feast ever with friends and family. Convenient location to explore seawall, wonderland/ship harbor trails, flying mountain trail and echo lake. Bar harbor and main part of Acadia is only 30 minutes away.
Very clean, responsive owner, beautiful location, well-stocked and decorated house!!!
We enjoyed our recent stay at Harborside Cottage, which was very clean upon arrival. Such beautiful sunsets from the deck! Elean was very quick to respond to any questions. Quick drive to many restaurants and Echo Lake Beach.
We stayed here in July 2022. The cottage is so clean and thoughtfully renovated and is located in the most beautiful spot right on Bass Harbor. The cottage was a perfect setup for our group- we have young kids along with young adult children, and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out (and having 3 bathrooms was great.) Lots of fun toys and activities for the kids- they didn't want to leave most days! It was nice to stay on the quieter side of Mt. Desert Island- it was easy to get to anywhere we wanted to go, and nice to avoid the crowds of summer in Acadia. We would definitely come back in the future to Harborside Cottage.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Harborside. The property was well kept and very comfortable. Stellar sunsets! Some of our faves during our stay were visiting the Seawall and Lighthouse, Jordan Pond and Bubble Mountain. We all enjoyed going down on the docks and searching the shallows for marine life. Taking wonderful memories back to Nebraska. Maine has our hearts.
The home was just perfect. Clean and comfortable. Views were awesome. They really thought of everything you might need. Elean was wonderful.
Harborside Cottage was exactly what I needed after two challenging years with Covid and Cancer. Elean was quick to respond to any questions before the trip and everything we needed to know was provided on the premises. It’s on the quieter side of the island but a short drive to many other small harbor towns, Acadia and Bar Harbor. We loved the accommodations, had everything we needed for a weeks stay. The Captains Quarters mattress was super comfortable. The decor was very cute and coastal. We pretty much stayed on the lower level most of the time. Loved watching the tides come in and out, the soft rumble of boat engines in the harbor, the sunsets, deer, birds and the fog! Thank you for allowing us to stay in this serene and peaceful home! Highly recommend!
