Stayed Dec 25, 2024The house is very comfortable. We enjoyed many hours playing games in the living room. The beach is really just right out the front door. Even though it rained almost continuously while we were there we still enjoyed many walks on the beach.

Stayed Apr 10, 2024This was a great location for us -- close to great sites on the coast like the Devil's Churn, Cape Perpetua, and the aquarium in Newport. It slept 6 very comfortably, although take note that there's just one bathroom. :-) We cooked several meals and the kitchen was well-stocked with cutlery and dishes. Nice place!

Stayed Oct 22, 2023This was a really comfortable place with great beach proximity. Very quiet and fairly secluded, there was a cabin next door but unoccupied. For the price, it would have been nice to have some coffee supplied (as we find in most similar properties), so be sure to bring your own ground coffee!

Stayed Aug 18, 2023The location is incredibly lovely but the house itself was run-down and in need of cleaning and not worth the high cost. Our stay was for a special occasion and the first time in my years of staying in rentals that I was truly disappointed that the pictures don't match the reality. The floors and kitchen were unkempt and we spent the first part of the stay cleaning the dishes, cutting boards, and utensils that had been put away with food caked on. Note that I contacted the rental agency an hour earlier than our check-in time (because we arrived at the coast a bit early) to see if we could check in early and they said no---which I completely understand. However, as we were packing up I saw that they was a text asking if we were leaving earlier than our check-out time, which didn't seem appropriate because we felt as though we were also being rushed out. After our short stay, I contacted VRBO, who said I had to contact the rental company directly, I did that to ask is they would offer a very minor discount for the significant lack of housekeeping. After a couple weeks of no replies Meredith Lodging replied and they said they were only able to offer a 10% discount on a future booking. Oof.
