Stayed Apr 29, 2022The house and yard were adorable. Ellen was a gracious hostess and very good with communication. The downtown was wonderful with good restaurants and walkable from the house. We really enjoyed our stay.

Stayed Apr 8, 2021Great place to go and get away from everything. Midway is a charming small town. Loved the limited technology, just what you bring, it’s a great way to live. Ms Skidmore’s house was charming and elegant. Her artwork is a very nice touch throughout. Highly recommended.

Stayed May 19, 2026Noting but character and charm in this historic house in the beautiful town of Midway, KY. This is the epitome of a Bluegrass experience. When you visit, don't fail to eat and Heirloom, just down the street.

Stayed Apr 30, 2026We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Ellen is an excellent host and accommodated our every request with gladness. The atmosphere and decor of this lovely home takes one back to another time in old Midway. It’s walkable to all of the best dining and shopping in downtown Midway. The staircase does have steep stairs, and some may find the shower a little small, but neither were issues for us. The rooms were comfortable. We were provided a small fridge, single cup coffee maker and tea kettle with great tea and coffee selections. There were so many cute touches. We will be returning for sure.

Stayed Apr 22, 2026I loved being in this cozy, historic home. So refreshing being somewhere with history and personality. Ellen is an absolute joy, and being surrounded with her artwork made me smile every day. The beds are comfy, the little coffee nook and mini fridge is such a nice, hospitable touch. The location is perfectly centered between Keeneland and The Horse Park. Also, easy to get to Buffalo Trace for those bourbon lovers. Downtown Midway had a surprising number of resteaunts to choose from in walking distance. And do NOT miss going to your host's charming art gallery before dinner. Absolute gem.

Stayed Oct 4, 2024This is such a beautiful historic home. Location couldn’t have been better for our days at Keeneland since we could go in the pretty back roads and miss the huge traffic jams. At night, we booked dinner in some fabulous small restaurants in Midway, which were just a few steps away. The home was comfortable and yes, the stairs are steep, but no problem for us. Would absolutely stay here again!
