Stayed Sep 5, 2025Our 2 week stay at the Greer lake property was wonderful! The house was clean, well equipped, and very comfortable. The cove was peaceful and a beautiful setting for morning coffee out on the porch and nights out by the fire. It was a quick drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor, making it ideal for relaxation and adventure. Josh was welcoming and responsive, which made everything easy. We were able to rent a pontoon from Josh which made the experience that much more enjoyable. We had several sightings of an eagle and loons from the dock. The lake is clear and perfect for swimming, fishing, and boating. We loved our time at lake and will definitely be a repeat customer.

Stayed Jul 19, 2025Great cove, quiet lake, comfortable accommodations. Only issue was house water quality easily solved by bottled water except for showers.

Stayed Jul 5, 2025Was absolutely amazing. The house was spotless and the property was incredible. We had so much family downtime together just grabbing the kayaks, canoe or paddle boards and just relaxing together. It was exactly what we needed. Also the proximity to Acadia National Park and Stephen King's house in addition to the gorgeous views and sunsets from the screened in back porch made this the perfect respite. We will definitely be back again.

Stayed Jun 7, 2025We spent three wonderful weeks at Greer Camp on Phillips Lake and truly didn’t want to leave. This 1920s cabin blends rustic charm with thoughtful modern updates and immediately felt like home. Our first week was peaceful—daily pontoon rides, swims with our dog Elmer, morning paddle boarding, and visits to Acadia, Bar Harbor, and local farmers markets. The well-stocked kitchen made it easy to cook with local ingredients and keep up my bread-baking routine. Our dog, Elmer LOVED the water and the pontoon rides. The lake’s natural beauty is breathtaking, with striking granite rocks and regular visits from loons. We even saw a turtle laying eggs in the driveway—a special moment we won’t forget. The next week two of my kids joined us for fishing, swimming, Acadia hikes/BarHarbor lunch...and a late evening cheesecake run to Momo’s in Ellsworth(open 24/7). Week three brought my in-laws, and we enjoyed slow mornings, paddle boarding (for me!) and floating in the lake... calm afternoons fishing, and just being together, grilling local lobster tails and other local fare. The cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable, extended stay. Leaving was hard, but we left feeling more certain than ever that Maine is where we’d like to build our forever home. Until then, we’ll gladly return to Greer Cabin—a peaceful, well-loved place perfect for making memories.

Stayed May 31, 2025Cabin was great for our group of 4. Seating and spaces were perfect.Location is near Ellsworth and Bangor, but not too near.Lake was quite during our stay. Screened in porch was great in the evening. Boat rental option was nice. One note if you have small children stairs and balcony spindles have wider openings than new construction.

Stayed Oct 12, 2024Beautiful cabin and location! The fall colors around the lake made it the perfect fall spot. Less than an hour drive to Acadia and short trip to Bangor for restaurants, but still has that secluded cabin feeling. At the cabin we took advantage of the kayaks, fishing poles, hammock, firepit, and appreciated the welcome goodies. The lake is amazing with crystal clear water. We also hiked up Mt. Baldy nearby for a great view overlooking the lake. The cabin itself met needs well for a family of four. The only downside was that it was pretty cold in the cabin for most of the week. The heat pump didn't really keep up with the low temperatures. Wasn't a big problem for us, but bring plenty of warm/cozy clothes for indoors if staying in October. Overall great experience and we're already thinking about coming back in the summer time!

Stayed Oct 8, 2024Beautiful cabin. Amazing location. Great owner and very responsive. Issues started at checkin. Outside temp was in low 40s. Cabin was freezing at checkin. The whole cabin has one heat pump which is located in living room. This was turned off and heat pumps take a long long time to warm up a place. We got space heaters which kept tripping up the electricity. Terrible sleepless first night which culminated in a phone call to owner who was very responsive and arrived next day. Upstairs bathtub unusable and rusted because of leaky tap. Hot water had rusty odour. Washer worked but dryer was broken and ended up drying clothes by hanging on bannister and chairs. Owner left several nice touches including plenty of towels, drinks/ snacks for adults/children. Amazing yard, lake front and fully equipped with canoes/kayaks and life jackets. The small issues which keep popping up made the stay memorable in a bad way. Wonderful property and great host but multiple issues need to be fixed.

Stayed Aug 17, 2024Everything is as described. I've been visiting Maine on the coast since I was young. But this time, I wanted to try staying on a lake or in a cabin. I don't recall if it was noted, but the house does have a privacy/security gate out to the road that is helpful if you have small children or want to keep your vehicles safe. The water on the lake is crystal clear where you can see fish just by looking down from the dock. Basic paper needs are well-supplied as is the water cooler in the kitchen. A convenient small grocery store is nearby with unexpectedly decent prices (G&M market?). It also has a pizza / sub shop inside along with a Dunkin Donuts if you don't want to make coffee at home. Even on an overcast day, the house and lake make for a great morning! Bar Harbor and other coastal towns are an easy ride south. Traffic can be bothersome, but you have to expect that in the peak season. The kayaks, canoe, and paddle boards were especially convenient and an added bonus. We used them to go to the islands in the middle of the lake and explore. Highly recommend doing that. Just pay attention to the signs indicating the nesting eagle habitat on one of the islands. My only suggestion is to add some sort of ladder on the dock so that the less mobile might have an easier time getting out of the lake. The floating dock did have a ladder which was great! Thanks again!

Stayed Aug 10, 2024Wonderful stay in a well-kept ADK camp style home. Phillips lake is clean and clear. We were provided with a kayaks, canoe and paddle board and water safety gear. The screened front porch is a true treasure. Quiet neighborhood. Mutiple places on the property to sit and relax. Location allows for easy trips to Bangor and Bar Harbor. Very comfortable home for our family and dog. Highly recommend, one of the best rentals we have stayed in over the last 20 years.

Stayed Aug 3, 2024It felt like this house was the perfectl setting for our family to make memories . We ate all our meals on the screened in porch, the nights were game night on the rug, little places inside and out to read! We swam in the very clean lake, and boated to small coves to explore…. or water ski in the big stretches. Look for the bald eagle nest. Easy trip to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Best hosts !!!

Stayed Jul 6, 2024We had a wonderful, relaxing and peaceful week. The screened in porch was the best for morning coffee, playing games or watching the kids swim! There was plenty of space for 2 teens and 4 adults. The sunsets on the lake are breathtakingly beautiful. Excellent communication with owner. Thank you for a great week

Stayed May 30, 2024Location of the cabin worked well for traveling to Acadia national Park and Ellsworth 10 miles away. Had restaurants, and Walmart. Lake was very clear, good fishing from the dock and large Cove so for beginners at canoeing or kayaking this was ideal Even saw a fox early in the morning Great for birdwatching or painting a picture
