Stayed Jun 13, 2024Renato was the ultimate host! This was our first house rental and the entire experience far exceeded our expectations! He answered every question; provided detailed information that was so very helpful in planning our day trips. The house was perfecto! Although we only had four people, it was just right. The pictures are accurate - with views of the lagoon and ocean, which we enjoyed with our morning coffee and late night snacks. Obidos was central to everything. We put about 1240 miles on the car rental - but we able to day trip to Nazaré, Peniche, Porto, Sintra, Alcoboca, Cascais, and much more. We also ate dinner based on several of Renato's recommendations in his info booklet which really helped us to maximize our visit. We when arrived, we were going to stop in Lisbon for lunch, but he directed us to the house. When we got there, he greeted us with a spread fit for a king - much of which he cooked and prepared himself! Cakes, sliced meats, dates rolled in bacon, fruits, figs stuffed with walnuts - incredible!! And when we met him to return the keys, he greeted us with a box of warm pastries and souvenirs of blown glass flowers. What an incredibly kind, generous and thoughtful man. We've already recommended the house to several friends and hope they visit this magical place. Thank you for making our visit so special. It was above and beyond!!!

Stayed May 13, 2023Renato and Isabel were fantastic and gave us a very warm welcome. The house is located in a perfect setting on the edge of the lagoon. The view was like a post card and the beach was just in front of the house. The house had everything we needed and more, including bikes, paddle board and kayak. We enjoyed the trails and saw the flamingos. A great place for a family with children because the dunes are extensive and protected from the ocean and the water is clear and shallow. The winds are strong for kitesurfing. The location is central for visiting other sites in the region. We would come back here for sure.

Stayed Sep 5, 2020We have been in this beautiful house for two weeks. The welcome of the owners was overwhelming. There was a Buffet prepared for us and they had all perfectly prepared for the covid 19 situation. The house has everything for vacations with Kids and family. You have a direct beach access to the best lagoon ever. We really loved it and we're pretty sure that we are going to come back!!!!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We stayed with our family of three generations at Isabel and Renato’s beautiful beach house. Already our arrival was unforgettable: a table heavily laden with the finest delicacies in a sparkling clean house. The rest of the stay was similarly delicious: the lagoon beach is a minute’s walk from the house, but it’s also worth the while ckecking out the magnificent ocean beach after a nice walk in the sand. The house has all a traveller needs, from baby equipment to bicycles, a kanoe, a SUP, beach toys and even beach towels. Isabel and Renato are wonderful warm hearted hosts, ready to help with anything one might need. All in all, a wonderful experience, hopefully to be repeated another time soon!

Stayed Oct 13, 2018We spent a week with 4 persons in this very nice location. It was a very rainy and stormy week in October, but nevertheless we were very safe in this house. We were happy to have the sun at least for some hours, so we were able to enjoy the big wafes in the Atlantic, the canoeing on the lagoon and playing at the beach. It was our pleasure to meet Isabel and Renato who helped to survive the first days. This is really a good place to go!

Stayed Aug 20, 2016What a fabulous find this property is. I'm hesitating whether to share this secret with you! The owners couldn't be more thoughtful or generous, even offering to cook us a meal on our arrival and baking local cakes, etc, and leaving us with other provisions. You're right 'on' the beach here, with the most spectacular views of the lagoon and the mouth of the lagoon looking out to the sea. There's a boardwalk that takes you down to the beach (1 or 2 minutes walk to arrive on the sand). There's no road between you and the beach, which is wonderful. I can't walk far, but even this wasn't a problem as they have bikes in the garage - so I biked down to the beach! Perfect! You can also bike around the path around one side of the lagoon to the 'head' of the lagoon, where there's a cafe/restaurant and canoes and stand up paddle boards to hire. It's perhaps a 7 km round trip (I think). The water in the lagoon is calm and warmer than the sea - although it's still fairly cool/cold. At low tide, small 'lakes' form, some of which you can swim in - or at least children can. The water in the lakes are a bit warmer. The beach is very sandy, everywhere - no pebbles. A quiet place, with only one shop (limited stock, but manageable day to day. You might need to top up with a visit to one of the supermarkets near Obidos. Several cafe/restaurants, as well, and an ice cream stall near the beach. You'll definitely need a car here (several car hire companies at Lisbon airport). It would be quite difficult to manage without a car. The house and location are perfect for a quiet stay, based around the beach, perhaps a visit to pretty Obidos and to other seaside towns, perhaps doing a spot of canoeing or watersports. A very quiet and idyllic spot.
