Stayed Aug 4, 2025We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful country home. The pool was fantastic during our very hot August week. The home was comfortable and well equipped. No air conditioning made nights very warm for sleeping. Fans in each room were helpful. Overall a very authentic country home with beautiful views of the valley.

Stayed Jul 19, 2019We were two families that had seven splendid days, where we enjoyed everything the house, garden, pool, beautiful view and surroundings. Just to wake up and pick up your own fresh oranges for morning juice, eggs and tomatoes, fresh herbs etc. for breakfast was fantastic. Thank you to the people around and Jon Best regards Family Jensen from Copenhagen

Stayed Jul 16, 2018We enjoyed the time we spent at Quinta de Nadais in July, a quiet area, a lovely view and a quick drive to the Douro spots. But, one thing that we dislike is that the advert says private villa. So we expected to be on our own in the property. In fact, there is another house twenty meters away from our rented house on the property, where the owner’s grand mother and another lady live. So they are around, going in and out of the property with their car, or sitting at the table where the BBQ is. Even if they are discreet, this is not exactly my definition of ‘private villa’. This is something that would be best to know before making a decision to book.

Stayed Jul 10, 2018This house was absolutely perfect for our family vacation of four adults and two children. It's situated on a working estate with fruit trees, grape vines, peacocks, and a few chickens that our grandchildren enjoyed seeing on a tour of the grounds given to us by the owner. The kitchen and dining area are well equipped for meals at home and we were invited to pick oranges and lemons from the estate's trees. A local baker came up the driveway mid morning with a small truck laid out with bread and pastries for sale and the kids loved picking out their breakfast. With all of that plus the sizable swimming pool across a lawn from the house, this couldn't have been a nicer place for a family to relax and spend time together in a beautiful authentic setting. On the practical side, the mattresses are firm with comfortable pillows and nice linens. The closets and dressers have enough space to unpack and put things away. There is a washer in an outbuilding about 200 feet away, and outdoor clothes lines. The rental is about 50 feet away from the family home, but still feels private with the layout of the buildings. The area, although seemingly remote, has excellent restaurants and wineries a short drive away and a well stocked supermarket about 10 minutes away. The surrounding landscapes of terraced vineyards and small villages hanging onto steep edges of hills is historic and breathtakingly scenic. Our stay was only for five days before moving on to Porto and Lisbon, but if we travel to Portugal again, Quinta De Nadais would be tops on our list for a longer stay.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The house is absolutely wonderful! It's situated in a lovely place with a breathtaking view! I spent only 2 days with my family and everybody was completely surprised with every single thing in the house, the pool, the view, being surrounded by the nature, the decoration, the space, the fact it had every single thing needed and even more, and most importantly the feeling of relaxation and happiness the place gives! The only regret was not staying there for longer! I fully recommend it and we will probably be back! Thank you so much, he had the most lovely time!
