Pup-friendly Cottage - 2 bed/1 bath, fenced yard

This was our 2nd time staying at Slack Tide Cottage. It is just perfect for my husband and I and our two pups. We enjoy being within walking distance of the beach, shopping, and restaurants. St. Simons is our favorite vacation spot and we will definitely return in the future.

The property is well-maintained in a quiet neighborhood. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would stay again!

Only con is there’s only one bathroom however there’s a wonderful private outdoor shower which is really refreshing on warm days.

Overall we had a good stay. The positives: very quiet street with ample off street parking, close to most things, comfortable furniture, good kitchen, nice fenced yard for our dog, and general cleanliness was good. The negatives: the ceiling fan in the living room didn't work, the front storm door was broken and would not close fully so we couldn't leave the main door open for light or to easily use the front porch, the step up to the front porch is high with no railing (just in case you are mobility challenged - I have a slight hip problem and it was difficult to go up and down from the porch), and the bathroom is vintage - not in a good way and it shows (again if you are mobility challenged there is a high step over the tub for the shower and the toilet is very low) The property is managed by a firm on the island that seems to have a lot of rental properties here. They were not open on the weekend when we stayed. This was an issue since calls about the broken items were not returned. We dropped our keys and left before the office opened. We filled out their feedback form and left it with the keys but received no contact.

The only thing I would change is because the unit is older it does that have old musty smell, but I learned from the past bring a glade plug in. Would definitely stay here again. What a great location! Walkable to the beach and little downtown shops and eateries. We really appreciated the very dog friendly quaint home with a fully fenced yard!

The property, location, and cleanlinesswere great. We have stayed in this area at least 10/12 times over the last 2/3 years. While a couple of others were better, this one ranked among some of the best.Our biggest compliant was the Television options. In all of the others, this was the only one that has had Direct TV. And frankly it was the most difficult selection process I have ever had. Granted we were there for the Beach but with the extreme temperatures this past week, we were left with staying at the rental most of the time.Would this deter us from staying at this property, it depends on the time of year and our dependency on the weather and beach. Same time next year, probably not.As I stated location, property and the total house package makes this high on our list. But we do enjoy our TY options and this was a bummer in light of the weather. As for as a recommendation, possibly with the caution of the television versus weather. Confirming the possibility of bad or extreme weather predicted...no recommendation. Super comfortable, great location. The space was exactly what we were looking for, and nicer than online pics suggested. We would definitely stay here again.

This little cootage was great. Everyone we needed for us and our pup. Nice fenced in yard, for our girl. The beds were comfortable and room was spacious. We would stay again.

Wonderful space! Quick walk to the beach. House was super clean and well appointed, the fenced in yard and enclosed outdoor shower were amazing. Check in and check out was close by and super easy. Amazing place!

It was in a quiet neighborhood, and a short walk from the beach and a few restaurants. The main village area was a 20 minute walk, although we chose to drive there and had no problems finding parking. The house was larger than I expected, and we enjoyed the fenced back yard for our two dogs. The inside was very clean and well-stocked, and we had no issues during our stay. I would definitely recommend this house to others!

We wanted a short beach trip for my husband and I along with our dog. The slack house was comfortable and clean. We rented a golf cart and no need for our car. Close to the beach and restaurants. Will stay here again.

Clean, comfortable cottage. Lovely neighborhood.

I really needed a cozy cottage a short distance from the ocean that had everything I needed. I prepared my breakfasts, ate nearby for lunch, brought home leftovers for dinner. Walked on the beach, sat on the porch, let my dog out in the fenced in yard, and generally, escaped the REAL world. I would repeat again.

My wife and our two dogs spent a long weekend here and really enjoyed our stay. Check-in was easy though having a keypad at the door so you don't have to stop on the way in and way out would be nice addition Overall, we would stay here again!
