Enjoyed the stay only wish it could have been longer in the area, lots to see and do. Owners were very helpful, and very peaceful setting.
The place was nice, and we really enjoyed the location in southwest harbor away from the tourist heavy bar harbor. Allison was great with showing us the place and providing recommendations. Not a five star review for two reasons. The mattress was not very comfortable and there were no night stands on either side of the bed. Also, be prepared for quick showers because the hot water doesn’t last all that long.
We had a nice stay. This country house is away from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. Alison provided maps of Acadia national park and has vast knowledge of the trails and the area. 4.5 stars overall.
The location is excellent, near a public golf course, the town of SW Harbor, and Acadia National Park trails. Steve and Alison give their guests access to a full kitchen, dining/living room, and a sun-splashed deck. We couldn't have been more pleased!
Alison and Steve have a beautiful home and were warm and welcoming. They clued us in to all the good hiking trails and restaurants. South harbor is a cute town to walk around. It was a short drive to Bar Harbor and a lot of fun.
The house is in a beautiful section of woods close to a trailhead and cool causeway walk to town. Generous breakfast and homey atmosphere. We ate on the deck each morning. Hosts are very friendly and accommodating.
Super! Most wonderful information about the trails and hiking! Perfect weekend
Steve was very accommodating to us. The house was beautiful, clean, and perfect for a trip to Maine!
We were disappointed. The location was ok. The host was good at communicating and giving directions. The place was older and out dated. It was clean enough but towels were old looking, rough and there were what looked like bleach stains on one. It was suppose to include a continental breakfast but it was such that it should not be advertised as such. It included a few bagels for use all week. Generic coffee was available. Did not feel comfortable going into her refrigerator to get the bagels or partly used jelly or to go into a cupboard to find cereal. The first night we were cold and were told they don’t like to put the heat on till end of Sept. We were told to leave door to our bedroom open in order to obtain heat (what source?) from their side. We have yet to hear about the security deposit which is to be refunded.
We had a great time!
