Beautiful home that is secluded enough to allow you to enjoy nature and the elk bugling in the mornings and evenings, and the view from the deck is absolutely spectacular.

We loved our stay at Rob's home in Ridgway! The location and view are incredible. We also saw great wildlife (turkeys in yard, elk herd in valley below), and the telescope/binoculars were a nice touch. Clean, well stocked, and comfortable. Our family stayed here, and drove most days to Telluride for skiing. The roads from Ridgway to the house are unpaved, but we made it just fine, and considered it part of the location and character. I also had to put tire chains on our big van after some fresh snow to make it up/down the driveway, because we didn't have 4WD/AWD, but that worked well. Thanks, Rob!

First the good things: beautiful views, quiet, and very well stocked with towels and etc., Wi-Fi was slow but good. Not so good: listing on VRBO shows there is TV but the only TV is with a few videos there or you have to go to town to rent. Would have been nice if they would have at least had connections to stream through our phones or been more up front about the lack of over air or cable TV. Next when we arrived we found out that they do not have trash service so it is necessary to take your trash to the dump in town on certain days/hours. Not a problem, right - except when you get to the dump they charge $5 per bag! The downstairs rooms had a slight skunk smell. We live in the country so we are use to an occasional unwanted guest around but just be aware that there is a possibility of this. Overall this is a nice property, maybe not up to the VRBO standards that we are accustomed to but we did enjoy our stay.

Our party of 5 adults was extremely comfortable, and the separate downstairs living quarters with mini-kitchen was awesome! Everything is very nicely appointed- from the beds to the home decor. Very tasteful. The view of the San Juan Mountains is amazing, and every day a herd of about 200 elk came to graze in the field below the house. A couple times during our week stay, 6-7 deer walked within 30-40 feet of the deck while we drank our morning coffee. The pictures of the house on HomeAway or VRBO do not do the house justice, it's much nicer and roomier than it appears. The isolation of the cabin made it seem as if we were far from civilization, making it great quiet place to relax. At night the only sound we could hear were the elk bugling. The raised deck is a great place to drink coffee in the morning and watch the sun come up behind the Cimmaron Mountains to the east. We'll surely rent this house again!

We found this house on VRBO while looking for a long-weekend getaway for three couples. The house was well appointed and well equipped and perfect for our needs. We enjoyed the views and the solitude of the location. Would highly recommend this property for couple or for a family.

A great location. Close to many activities, but on a quiet dirt road where you can enjoy the views and peace and quiet when you want. The house was very clean and well equipped. Had a great time and would definitely recommend to others.
