This is our third stay at this beautiful home in Williamstown. The property managers are responsive, the home is beautiful and the surroundings are soothing. Six of us stayed and had a writing workshop. We'll be back if they let us!
The property is beautiful and a great location for exploring the Berkshires. The house worked well for our 3 generation family gathering. Multiple big gathering spaces, a big dining table for 12 and an open kitchen for cooks and helpers enhanced our time together. We would love to go back!
Amazing property!
We booked this house for our son's college graduation for our family - two sets of grandparents and our daughter. We are regular Vrbo users and have excellent reviews. The host required us to tell how many people were there and we could only check in at 4 and had to check our promptly at 11. While the view was beautiful and the house was super clean, I can't recommend the house due to the owner's refusal to comply with any of our very reasonable requests. As well, the listing says the house sleeps 16, but there are only three full baths and two half baths. We also noticed at least one ring camera to monitor the property. It seems that the host are reluctant renters. We encourage them to be more flexible if they plan to continue to rent.
Five of us stayed at this beautiful property and two friends joined us during the day. This is the perfect home for entertaining, for relaxing and for having long discussions about whatever is on your mind. A real gem!
Wonderful
Before I review, I will say that the property management company (Lucas and Drew) have done their best to rectify the situations that we encountered, and they have reached out to the owner to be in touch with me. I have intentionally waited to review until I have heard from the owner, but I have not received a response, so I will now move forward. We have stayed at VRBO rentals on every vacation we have ever taken, including Bar Harbor, Kennebunkport, Galveston, Charleston, Costa Rica, Boulder, and NYC. I have always had an honest communication as well as an exceptional experience at all of our vacation homes; however, we had a few concerns with this property that I would like to share. PROS: great location, beautiful and spacious home, comfortable beds, adequate kitchen utensils and cooking ware, air conditioning was awesome, fire wood provided, beautiful library, nice office to use for our two guys who had to work remotely, spacious bathrooms, access to beautiful hiking trail, incredible views, incredible game room in the basement. CONS: It is unacceptable that we found cat paraphernalia in two bench seats and in the cabinets in the utility rooms, when we were not informed that there were cats that had been there. Obviously, cats have been in the home, and unfortunately, we had two family members allergic to cats who had to take allergy meds several times a day to at least decrease the symptoms. This was not okay to not disclose this information. I was told that no pets have been on the property, but I have photos to prove. There was mold in the toilet in the basement and the bathroom was not cleaned thoroughly. There was no hair dryer provided, and we did not travel with one. The upstairs bedroom with two double beds had non working air conditioning vents, so the room was very warm and uncomfortable. The Keurig would not brew coffee in a timely fashion due to it needing descaling and cleaning. The coffee maker did not have a carafe, so we had to purchase a new coffee maker for $27 which we left for your convenience. There was no filters, coffee, or K cups provided for use. The description of the hair and bath products provided was hotel quality shampoo, conditioner, and body wash—Pantene does not qualify as hotel quality, and no body wash was provided in the upstairs baths, so we had to purchase soap and body wash. For the price per night, and from past VRBO experiences, our expectations were not met.
The home was as presented.. very clean and well appointed.
Four writers joined to enjoy the property and have a working weekend on our writing. The property is beautiful and well-appointed. The setting is gorgeous, and Lucas was so responsive when we confused the thermostat. We really hope to come back next year!
