Beulah, Michigan
I fell in love with this home as soon as I entered it. It was built in 1890 and the history spoke to me. We have completely renovated this home the winter of 2020. We took our home all the way down to the studs. We have all new wiring, heating, plumbing and we are especially excited about our brand new kitchen and bathrooms. I wanted to bring alive its history as well as its great location.
I can't wait to have my coffee on our private beach in the morning. In the afternoon walk to the coffee house, park, library, shops, restaurants, or brewery and ride the bike trail. All right outside our door or a short walk.
Our home has a screened in wrap around porch with the view of Crystal Lake. It is so inviting, I had to be here. I love to watch the rainstorms from the porch, sip my morning coffee on one of the comfy chairs or have a cup of tea and talk to a friend. Maybe you would like to enjoy and evening glass of wine from the comfy rocking chair and watch the sun set or just hold your loved ones hand.
There is lots of room for the family with its 3 bedrooms including a huge bunk room that has slept 8 plus. I can see childhood cousins becoming best friends, and making great lifetime memories playing in there while the parents are playing cards at the large kitchen table late into the evenings.
There are two bathrooms . We have also included makeup areas in each room to help cut the bathroom time for everyone as this house can sleep up to 12 (however we are listing it for 8 incase someone doesn't want to share one of the 4 double sized beds). Each of the bedrooms have a beautiful view of the lake as well.
You could not ask for a better location. Our home has a large grassy private beach on the South side of Crystal Lake. This is were a lot of people moor their boats as it gets the least amount of summer winds.
This home is on the Betsie Valley Bike Trail where you can ride all the way to Thompsonville or all the way into Frankfort and have a nice lunch and/or catch an art fair. We are also about a block to the Beulah Park with its, tennis court, pickle ball court, free concerts on summer Thursday nights, FOURTH OF JULY FIREWORKS AND FESTIVITIES, art shows, Fall Festivals, restaurants, brewery, coffee house, and unique shops. The fireworks are easily seen right from our beach.
This home has so much to offer. It has a large private Crystal Lake Beach, Two parking spaces in front of the garage, easy walk to town, access to the bike trail, plenty of grass and space for the kids to play outside. The 4th of July fireworks are going to be perfect from this location. It sits on a little 25mph road that I have actually seen children play their summer soccer game in the middle of - with the big net goals and everything. The beach is on the other side of the road, however it isn't traveled very much, mostly just the people to live on it.
Stayed Sep 23-30th. Great house with everything we needed, both inside and out. Very quiet road and felt an extremely safe neigbourhood. Even this late in the year the lake was warm enough for paddling and a swim, and the weather held firm for some fun kayaking and canoeing. Beulah is a cute town with plentiful amenities just a short walk away. Owner responsive and not at all intrusive, and starter pack a pleasant surprise. Would happily return if we get the chance (came over from UK and Canada).
My husband and I, along with our three adult children, wanted to bring my mom to the place where, since 1948, she spent most of her summers. Her great-Aunt and eventually her father owned a home directly across the lake from 6815 Crystal Avenue. This home was everything we needed....ample sleeping and sitting accommodations for 6 adults, and the kitchen was stocked with all the gadgets we needed for making a meal. It was so clean and all amenities were provided. Thank you, Meg, for opening your home to us!
I have been coming up to Crystal lake since I was a teenager and coming up with a group of girlfriends was so special. The house was spacious and perfect for the 12 of us. Lots of amenities and a short walk into town. Would definitely recommend staying here and hopefully I will be back!
Walking into Beulah was not too far and we liked being right on the bike path.
Great place with lots of amenities
Our family vacation with 6 adults was amazing - the house was just as promised, roomy, clean, within walking distance from the town and right on the bike path. The waterfront was perfect - with paddle boards, a canoe and kayaks. We all used them every day. One of my favorite parts was sitting out on the screened front porch with coffee early every morning and watching the lake wake up. Truly a wonderful place!!
The host was gracious in every way - completely accommodating and responsive. She gave me her cell number right away and even came over when we were having a challenge turning on the dishwasher. She left us a lovely welcome gift. The easy walk into Beluah was a bonus for all. The beach was Sandy and the kayaks and stand up paddle boards were great fun for all. She even had an infant life jacket. We wanted to come back next year but the property is already booked our week. We are struggling to find a great a place with a gracious host.
We loved this house - so clean with a vintage cottage feel but newly updated and so comfortable. The location is perfect. We walked and rode bikes to shop and eat in downtown Beulah, biked toward Frankfort on the Betsie Valley Trail, took the kids for an afternoon of adventuring at Crystal Mountain, visited Sleeping Bear Dunes, etc. We used the fire pit, took paddle boards and kayaks for a spin, and swam in gorgeous Crustal lake. So fun to wave to fellow bikers and walkers every morning while sitting on the front porch. We loved the energy of the house and the town. Looking forward to a return visit! Thanks Meg for your amazing hospitality!
We had wonderful weather, the house was perfect for our 4 friends getaway. The wind's we're strong so we didn't get too enjoy the lake this time. We'll be back for sure.
We had a great time! Meg was a wonderful host. She was very quick to respond with any of my questions. The house is beautiful and clean, all the information on the property was very clear. Check in and out very easy, we will definitely visit again!
Such a great spot right on the lake with your own beach, paddle boards, kayaks, dock, and everything you could need. Would definitely go again.
We had an amazing Labor Day weekend at this home. Fished off the dock, went into Frankfort, golfed at Arcadia, in short the home is in proximity to everything! The fire pit at night was our favorite part. The home is quaint and they did a great job on kitchen/bathroom Reno’s. We grilled and cooked one night, had everything in the kitchen we needed (and more). Thank you for having us!!
Location was great; right on the lake and bike trail as well as being a short walk into town. Also close to Frankfort which is a bigger town. Great that there are kayaks and chairs as well as a fire pit for use. House was clean and set up was nice.
We loved the location - Beulah is centrally located to so much fun in the northern MI area. Bike trail out front is great for a day roundtrip to Frankfort. Crystal lake is so beautiful. Rafting the Platte is a must. House is comfortable, nicely decorated. Much smaller than we expected. Fine for our family of four, but beyond that would likely feel a bit small. Host was great to work with.
We love going to Crystal Lake for vacations and this property made it even more wonderful. Excellent location, beautiful house, stellar lake front access, and great water activities for the kids. Our stay was memorable and spectacular. Would not hesitate to recommend to others. Such a great time.
We stayed at Meg’s spot on Crystal Lake this summer and it exceeded our expectations. The house was beautiful, clean, comfortable. The location was wonderful, walking distance to Beulah and public beach. We enjoyed access to kayaks, paddle board and canoe. The lake was clear, warm and beautiful. We traveled with young children, the only downfall with children is the street outside of the home, as some cars travel faster than 25mph. Otherwise, Meg was wonderful, easy to reach if needed and welcoming. I would highly recommend this spot if looking in Crystal Lake or a spot w several close access points to Lake Michigan.
Nice home that had been updated. There were stairs (13 steps) up to the second floor where all the bedrooms were located. Buelah has to have the hardest water in the state, but you deal with these issues to enjoy the many other amenities.
The property was as advertised. Meg was accessible by phone when needed which for us was just to get our boat settled In on the first day. We’ve been vacationing in Michigan for many years, primarily at Lake Leelanau. This was our first time at Crystal Lake and it was absolutely beautiful! We loved that Meg’s place was so close to the town and she provided paddle boards and kayaks which kept us all in the water constantly! Very clean, lovely lake home.
Property was listed accurately. It's within walking distance to downtown beulah. Having the bike path right there was great. We loved sitting out by the water; crystal lake is beautiful. The house was renovated well and had all the amenities we needed. I would definitely recommend this rental for anyone looking to enjoy crystal lake!
We were originally going to have four stay here. We ended up with just the two of us, so it was lots of extra space. Families will love it! The view is spectacular at all times of day and night. It's a quiet street, so mostly foot traffic and those on bikes. Easy access to downtown Beulah and Frankfort. Easy drive to Lake Michigan. Wonderful interior, lots of amenities, spacious bathrooms, beutiful kitchen, and outstanding hosts! We would definitely go back!!!
