Private Cottage! Easy Walk Through The Park To Encinitas And Moonlight Beach.

This was easily the best private home we've ever rented. Usually the pictures make a place look better than it is. Here it is difficult for photos to do it justice. The house is decorated very well. It is immaculate. Everything you need is supplied, down to beach chairs, umbrella, and a wagon for a day at the beach. Encinitas has few available rentals right on the beach and this is no exception. It is not a difficult walk but it's far enough that you'd best take what you need when you go. But we would love to return and honestly felt like we were in our home for the week. Except this might be nicer. :)

Beautiful property. Stocked with all the necessities. Just walk in and open your suitcase. The property is in an outstanding location. So convenient. Looking forward to our next stay.

My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay at this delightful Encinitas cottage. Every detail was attended to and we especially loved the outside patio and close proximity to Cotton Wood Park. Easy and prompt communication with owners. Hope to stay here again!

We had a fantastic experience! Tom was amazing. Our flight arrived in the morning and Tom had text me the day before our arrival to let me know we could check in early, giving us what felt like a whole extra day. The property was just as shown, very cute and GREAT location. It took us about ten minutes to walk to the beach.The beach accessories were a big bonus. We were amazed with how clean everything was. That’s hard to do with sand, but they do! Would absolutely recommend and stay here again.

We absolutely adored our stay here! The proximity to the beach, shops, and restaurants was ideal. They also allowed us to check in early which was so convenient. Will stay here in the future if we ever find ourselves in the area again!

We enjoyed our privacy, but found Tom to be both attentive and available. The home was immaculate with all that we needed. The neighborhood is convenient to the beach, and the casita is surrounded by an abundance of birds and tropical plants. An authentic California experience!

Tom the host is great. The place was so perfect for us. Well equipped with all you need for a relaxing stay and the beach. The outside spaces are great. The street is a dead end so there is little traffic. It’s located right next to the very nice Cottonwood Creek Park. It’s easy to walk to downtown and the beach by just cutting through the park - a nice walk.

Lovely casita - perfect for 2 in beach walkable location. Easy to the I5 for longer trips. Clean with very comfy King bed. Outside space also much appreciated for quiet evening unwind.

This was our second visit to Tom & Peggy's beautiful vacation cottage. The location is beyond convenient, within a 5-minute walk to the park with tons of pickleball courts, Moonlight Beach, downtown shops, restaurants, and the commuter train to San Diego. The cottage is equipped with more amenities than most will ever need. We had a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the beautifully landscaped outdoor patio with our friends and ordered dinner from local restaurants. If you're looking for a wonderful spot to enjoy the Encinitas coastal area, you'd need not look any further. We had one small issue with a battery in a smoke alarm and Tom responded within minutes to address the issue. Tom and Peggy are the best hosts!

We absolutely loved this cottage! It’s quiet, beautiful, and just a short walk to great restaurants and beaches. The house is cozy and welcoming, and Tom was incredibly attentive throughout our stay. Highly recommend!

Excellent stay, highly recommended

We loved our stay! Tom was super responsive and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. His place was just as it looked in the photos and what I was expecting.I was traveling with my husband and almost 2 year old daughter. The bedroom had plenty of room for the crib. We also loved that the bathroom door was outside of the bedroom so that, once our daughter was down for the night, we were able to shut the bedroom door and freely use the restroom and other areas of the cottage. The playground being steps away from the cottage was also a huge bonus for us! The beach is so close that it doesn’t make sense to try to drive and find a parking space - you’ll be able to walk to the water quicker.

Cute, clean, close to the beach, and great communication. ALSO, a fabulous bed which is a rare thing to find in a rental!

The property was a wonderful, little cottage. The owner is very attentive to detail and cleanliness. It was tucked back in a nice neighborhood on a dead-end street so no through traffic. The host was a great communicator and I honestly could not think of anything that could make it nicer. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to return.

Beautiful property and great if you are a walker as Moonlight Beach is an easy stroll. I only took my car out once and walked several hours a day.Peggy and Tom are great hosts and very responsive if you need them. Love the yoga room and outdoor space.

Wonderful home right next to the park and easy walk to the shops, restaurants and beach. It's very clean and plenty of space and parking which can be hard to find. Well appointed and clean and the owner is so friendly and communicative. We will hopefully be back!

A gem!!!My mother (90 years old) and I stayed 4 nights at the Cottonwood Casita, and it was everything and more than we could have imagined.The cottage was super well laid out. A huge plus for senior visitors. The attention to detail was amazing. Very well done and beautifully thought out. We had absolutely everything we needed. Even silk pillowcases in a pale ocean green satin! My mom and I walked to Moonlight Beach every morning, which was such a treat for my mom to see. We grew up in San Diego and have many fond memories of our time spent at the beach. The patio and gardens at the cottage was a nice spot to take in the cool breezes while watching the hummingbirds. The hosts, Tom & Peggy, have thought of everything a guest might want in their casita. Immaculately clean, comfortable bed, well-equipped kitchen and convenient parking make this a great find. Tom was readily available by text to answer any questions. The casita is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, yet also only minutes away from freeway access and Pacific Coast Highway. We definitely plan to return to this property in the future.

Spent many years in this area but never knew about this great little neighborhood. Fantastic location close to Moonlight Beach and many restaurants of all types. Since we’ve moved out of the area, we definitely try to revisit this property when the occasion arises.

I came from Northern California to visit my daughter’s college with her and my niece. We had a wonderful stay in the casita! The grounds were beautifully landscaped with succulents and had a few places to sit and soak up the sunshine. The inside was very clean and calming. We had everything we needed, including extra blankets. We really enjoyed our trip!

This was the perfect bungalow for a relaxing couples getaway. Perfectly located near great shops, restaurants with a great night life and the beach. Immaculately clean and meticulously decorated. Wonderful hosts.

Lovely renovated cottage with everything you need! We loved the patio with the gas fire as well as the sizable kitchen completely stocked with new utensils, etc. Plenty of towels and blankets, and even logs for the fireplace. Short walk to the beach too! Host was very gracious.

Tom’s casita is a real gem! The location is ideal - walk to the beach, to the Encinitas shops, and to grocery shopping. The casita itself has everything you need - comfy bed, well equipped kitchen,and gorgeous patio. We will be back!!!

This cottage was picture perfect in every way. All the comforts of home, even sharp kitchen knives! So cute and comfortable. We really appreciated all the extra touches not normally fine in a short-term rental. Would highly recommend this property.

We stayed in Encinitas for a few days on our way to San Diego, this casita was so pretty, well appointed and comfortable! The location was great, a short walk to everything and the neighborhood is really exceptional. We also enjoyed Annie’s Slot Canyon. Our expectations were exceeded!

Tom & Peggy were thoughtful hosts. They really thought of everything a family would need, including a cozy rollaway bed for our 7 year old daughter and logs for evening fires. We spent each day at Moonlight Beach which was a simple 15 minute walk. Tom included boogie boards, towels, beach chairs, umbrella, sand toys for hours of fun! Sunset dinners on the 101 made for a dreamy weekend getaway! Quick drive to the Botanical Gardens was super fun on one foggy morning. Highly recommend this beach cottage!

This is a wonderful cottage. It was clean, quiet and well equipped. The owner greeted us upon arrival and was available if any problems occurred. It was tastefully designed and landscaped It was all that was advertised on the site, and I would highly recommend.

We stayed a short week at the private cottage. Everything was perfect -- from the responsive hosts to the lovely cottage to the great location. One of the best experiences ever!

This is our second stay at the casita, and it’s still a wonderful place. Charming, well-decorated, well-equipped, and comfortable. In addition, it’s very well located within easy walking distance of a great beach, dining, a grocery store, etc. There is a separate detached little studio that is perfect for yoga or meditation. My wife and I highly recommend this property.

We stayed at the casita this past May and immediately scheduled a return trip. This past stay was no less of a wonderful experience. The cottage itself is well cared for and has many little touches that make us feel welcome. Looking forward to coming back soon!
