Stayed Feb 9, 2024The property is great! We were very surprised to find out there is a significant fee to heat the pool. Read the details at the end of the listing. Communication was good and the property was clean and ideal for a multiple day stay. El Cardonal is a quaint little town with great beaches, and while there is only a few restaurants, they are very good.

Stayed Mar 27, 2024Our kids loved it, and so did we. The place came exactly as advertised. Highlights included some snorkeling right out front and see some small fish close to shore, kayaking and seeing the sunrise right from our room.

Stayed Jan 11, 2024What a wonderful stay in this beautiful home in the charming little town of El Cardonal. This was the most well-appointed rentals we have ever experienced. The owners thought of everything, from a full kitchen, soup, detergent, towels, first aid kit, etc. (the list goes on). The home is absolutely charming, with a Mexican flare that made it feel like home. We cannot say enough about the amazing communication between the owner and the property manager, Manuel. Top notch from the very beginning. Thank you so much for making our family trip so memorable. We hope to be back again soon!

Stayed Mar 22, 2023This is the second year in a row that we've stayed in El Cardonal at Las Ventanas. The experience was even better the second time. This is a great spot for our two families (2 x 10 y/o and a 13 y/o): great pool and very clean and private grounds. All the toys you need are there. Even though we had primarily windy days, the wall protecting the pool made swimming comfortable. Upgrades to the mattresses in the bunk beds and the dishwasher were appreciated. The property manager can arrange anything you need. A new sushi restaurant in El Cardonal is excellent and La Dona just a 5 min drive is all you need for food. We enjoyed everything and consider this the perfect spot for a family getaway.

Stayed Mar 12, 2023This is a wonderful house on a beautiful beach in a very small uncrowded area. The pictures and reviews do not due it justice. Views from every room, wonderful layout, and kitchen has everything. The host and his local assistant very available and helpful. Yes, it really is a lap pool! Its a large spread out property with lots of space and privacy in the bedrooms. The kayaks and stand up paddleboards are very good quality. Amazing and restful! Wish we could have stayed longer. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Thanks!!!

Stayed Jan 23, 2023Beautiful surroundings, quiet, relaxing sleepy town. Beach is private and right out front. Mostly calm waters if not too windy. Loved seeing and hearing manta rays and whales! Good restaurants nearby. Friendly locals. Bedrooms were private and comfortable. Easy to travel with family. Easy to get to from airport. Nice view from main area. The decorations and tiling in the house are very pretty. Courtyard was nice as was rooftop for stargazing. Property manager easy to get in touch with. Dishwasher leaked during stay and he promptly arranged for plumber to fix. Would give 5 stars if deferred maintenance were improved overall. The pool heater broke prior to arrival but could not be fixed for our use while we were there. Pool was about 65 degrees so too cold to swim. Power went out for a few hours as expected but back up power did not work as described so there was no running water at all as this requires a pump. Not a huge issue to be without electricity for a few hours but no running water is tough.

Stayed Apr 8, 2022The bedrooms are quite separated so there are as a lot of privacy! We choose to have the pool which was a great decision. We have stayed at other properties on the Baja and the pools were not heated and not enjoyable. Needless to say, we spent a great deal of time on the beautiful patio and in the pool! The wind shades were very nice to have to cut down on the wind and keep it warmer on the patio. The rooftop landed another take on the property, as you could see the layout of El Cardonal and the ocean. We saw a hump back whale and baby, some orcas and the manta rays added too! We rented ATVS from Sergio in Los Barriles. Pretty much spent some time on them everyday! The ocean was warm enough to do some incredible snorkeling. Andy and Samuel were quick to respond in reserving Casa Las Ventana and once we arrived. Samuel was quick to respond on Easter morning when I locked us out of the main house! You will not be disappointed with your stay in El Cardonal at Casa Las Ventanas!

Stayed Mar 31, 2022We traveled with a group of 7 and stayed for over a week. The property is beautiful, and incredibly well stocked with everything a traveler might need. We have stayed at VRBO properties throughout the Latin American world, and this was the best, without question. The pool was beautiful and our kids from 2 to 14 loved it, the beach access was perfect. The kitchen had every tool and pan we needed to cook for the week. Spices and other nice touches were abundant. Snorkeling gear, ample lounge areas, kayaks, beautiful lighting, comfortable beds and everything that we could come up with made this experience the best. The landscaped interior courtyard was a magical place to spend time. The dark, sparkling sky and crescent moon viewed at night from the top deck made for memorable evenings, and even convinced some of our crew to leave their wonderful beds and sleep for a bit under the stars. We hope to be back in the future to enjoy it all again. We need to provide special thanks to Samuel, who is the property manager in El Cardonal. His response time to questions was amazing, and he was perfectly helpful at all times. A person like that who is only moments away from a rental house makes everything easier for everyone. Additionally, there are fishing guides that live next door, and we were able to walk right down the beach to a guided trip with no travel needed. The fresh Bonito was some of the best tuna we have ever had. Thanks to all for working together to make for a memorable week!

Stayed Mar 16, 2022We were seeking a quiet respite from a hectic 2 year pandemic. Tranquility found in El Cardonal! This town has the basics. You'll find beer, beans, and snacks at the bodegas in town. There are a couple of great little restaurants and one classic gringo gathering spot within a long walk, or quick drive. More than anything, El Cardonal lacks any crowds. It's a simple place for simple activities. The people are friendly, the property manager was excellent, and with a little planning, it's easy to just stay here for a few days between trips to the 'city' of Los Barilles.
