Private and peaceful 2 BDR 1 BA retreat. Walking distance to the beach.

We have stayed at this location many times and we always have a blast! The location is perfect and incredibly peaceful. You are sure to see deer, rabbits, lots of lizards, and beautiful vegetation. The beach is a short hike that is just over a half mile through the campground. Capitola is about 20 minutes away and the Monterey Aquarium is about 40 minutes away. Mark and Lisa are AMAZING hosts and they think of everything you might need. There are bath and batch towels, shampoo, conditioner, and even a bar of soap! In the kitchen there are many spices, a Keurig with coffee pods and creamer, ketchup, mustard, water, ice, and a stick of butter! Which was great because I forgot butter at the store. Mark responds quickly to texts and always ensures we have everything we need and a wonderful stay. We can’t wait to come back soon!

We loved our stay! The place is even better in person. Very spacious with all the little details to make it feel like home. Our kids were excited to find board games and we appreciated the snacks after a long trip. One thing to note is that the room with twin bed does not have a door. This wasn’t a problem for us at all but may not work for some groups. We also enjoyed all the host’s beautiful art. Would come back!

What a beautiful space! Great decor and all that we needed. Close to the beach…just a short walk away!

I stayed here with my parents and my dogs. It was absolutely perfect, safe, and relaxing.

This was our second stay at the beautiful La Selva cottage and we are already booked for our third! The location is perfect with a 10 minute walk to a wonderful, dog friendly beach that rarely has many people. The cottage is about 30 minutes from Monterey and 20 minutes from Capitola, so right in the middle of many popular places. The homeowners are great too. They have excellent communication and reply very quickly. The cottage is stocked with everything you will need, including soaps, shampoo, conditioner, kitchen items, and even some snacks. We have stayed at many VRBO properties and this is by far the best and our favorite. Can’t wait to come back!

Was perfect for our little getaway for a few days. Loved how close was to the beach.

Unique and comfy home; cleverly decorated. Beautiful surroundings and quiet at night. The ability to walk to an uncrowded beach was great. We hiked at Nisene Marks and Fort Ord Dunes State Parks. We ate at Jalisco and Sukho Thai in Watsonville, and Dharma's (vegetarian comfort food) in nearby Capitola, and sampled local Craft beer at Fruition, Corralitos, and Beer Mule. Spent a day in San Juan Bautista--don't miss Bear's Hideaway, where you can enjoy wine, beer, and/or a cigar on the patio.

The property was very clean in a beautiful and peaceful location. The rooms were just the right size for the two of us with our two small dogs. The furniture was stylish and very comfortable especially in the main bedroom. The home was just a 10 minute walk to the beach which was not crowded with clean sand.

My son and I stayed two nights while visiting family in Santa Cruz and Watsonville. The space was lovely. It was very clean, well funrnished and filled with art. The hosts had thought of everything. We appreciated the notebook with directions to the beach, suggests of local walks and restaurtants.

We had a wonderful time here. The place had all the amenities that we could ask for and it was very clean. The host was very communicative and accommodating. We had a wonderful time. only one small quibble was that it was listed as a two bedroom but one bedroom didn’t have a door on it, (it was adjacent to the living room) which didn’t prove to be a big issue. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Hopefully we will get a chance to return at some point.

Enjoyed the spacious bedroom with artsy chic vibe. great kitchen for making breakfast and extra bed. We could see the ocean in the distance which was relaxing. We had a fun time enjoying s'mores with their firepit too.

The moment I pulled up to the home I was impressed with the landscaping and it only got better from there. The interior is artfully decorated, and gives you a warm, comfortable, at home feeling. The pictures do not do this home justice. It was also perfectly located for a lovely walk to the ocean with access to the beach. I also had the privilege of meeting Lisa and Mark my hosts and found them very pleasant. I definitely hope to stay here again. I should mention that I traveled to this area with my Search and Rescue K9 For training. Lots of space for him to run around in and it’s far from any traffic. Brody gives it four paws And I give it an 11 out of 10!!!
