Stayed Dec 28, 2024Beautiful & comfortable with a few minor issues. This property is amazing but the listing isn't entirely accurate. It's listed as king bed and 10 minute walk to beaches. It's a queen & the walk is 15-20 minutes at a fast pace. Also several maintenance issues I notified the host of so hopefully they resolve before future stays. The villa is huge, comfortable, private. Has every kitchen & bath amenity, games, books, nice bath & beach towels/chairs/toys. Pool is a very short walk away. Walk to beach was fine unless you bring stuff. Path is unlevel & meanders through a lava field & around the fish ponds, a nice walk, but not direct. Driving was much easier, the access card is included, but parking was frequently full. The private beach club was very busy but has a nice sandy beach and good snorkeling. Lots of rocks and coral under water, watch your toes in the shallow water! The beach restaurant was fancy and required reservations, not a place to order beach drinks or snacks.Arrival was slightly confusing so including to help others. A code is needed to drive into the gated community. A door code was provided so I expected a key pad but there was none. No outside light was left on for us so we fumbled around & found a key box on the sidewalk gate, which was already open so not very obvious. The code opens the box with the house key in it. Install the garage door app from code inside the garage.Overall, great & convenient for a family of 4 adults, definitely recommend!

Stayed Oct 19, 2024Other than a smoke detector going off a few times in the middle of the night because it needed replaced, it was a very pleasant stay. Communication was good with the host, the place was clean and nicely decorated. Very comfortable and relaxing stay. The surrounding area was beautiful. Highly recommend.

Stayed Jul 12, 2024Great location to all of the beaches and shops. Quiet beautiful grounds with a beautiful historic walk to one beach. The condo could use a couple of upgrades. Side door had wide gap letting air condition not run efficiently, toilet roll holder broke etc. Two things upset our family: The rental was to include access to club, but when we went to the fitness center, they wanted to charge us a short term membership, so we did not get to workout nor play tennis during our vacation. Also, the property manager was told that my grandson had serious asthma and so that they would reschedule the inside pesticide spray/treatment of condo till after we departed from vacation. She agreed to make the reschedule, but When we came back from the beach one day, a notice was on the front door that they had sprayed/treated for pesticides in the condo. As a result, we had to open all of the windows and leave for the evening. I would have stayed here again if I had access to the club and they respected our wishes of not spraying for pesticides while a family is on a vacation.

Stayed Apr 10, 2024Since all garbage must be contained in bags prior to putting in outside garbage cans, we wanted to take garbage out if we had fish or other stinky stuff. We were only given 3 kitchen bags, so I asked management for more. I was told that 8 bags were left for us and if we wanted more, we would have to purchase them.I couldn't believe she doubted me and risked a bad review. We purchased more bags, but felt slighted. We have used other condos in other areas of Mauna Lani for years. We will never use the Islands at Mauna Lani again. They are the only condo units we have used not having a fitness center. Only positive...nice pool for the condos. The bed mattresses definitely need to be replaced.

Stayed Apr 29, 2024Overall a great stay; the complex is very nice, good layout with two large primary bedrooms. Beds were very comfortable. The unit did have plumbing issues while we were there, they communicated quickly to get someone in to help. The unit could use a freshening up - furniture, carpet, and plumbing all getting fairly dated.

Stayed Mar 23, 2024This unit was very much as advertised, and served our group of 2 couples well. The 2 bedrooms have similar en-suite baths, and both have lanais. The kitchen is a bit dated, but was very functional and clean. The lanai area was a little grimy - suspect the gardeners came through after the cleaning had occurred, thus creating lots of dust that landed on the furniture. The prime feature of this unit was the lovely backyard - larger and a little more private than other units we’ve rented over the years. The development’s pool area was nice and not overly busy. Be aware that this development is one of the rare ones that doesn’t have a fitness center. The large and full-scale Mauna Lani center is a close walk away, however, and is fantastic (for a separate fee).
